The Story of Leffen: The God Slayer

  • Leffen went from villain to validated. His skill improved and improved until he did the impossible. And after doing that, he still wanted more. He still went further. He’s Melee’s first Evo champion that’s not one of the five gods. He’s more than just the god slayer, he’s the next generation.
    This is his story.

Derek Lewis What you are saying makes no sense, Armada retired winning Super Smash Con 2018 and in his last set he destroyed Hbox 3-0 and ended the year with a dominant 5-1 record over him (33-19 lifetime in favor of Armada), Armada has won every super major ever at least once and has a positive record on every person that has ever been ranked Top 10. Also there’s nothing wrong with complaining about Puff, it’s Armada’s opinión and Hbox also talks shit about Fox, in fact everyone complains about characters all the time, it’s normal.

Like the $1000 mm between leffen and sfat, no one played well. Meaning hbox floor and ceiling aren’t that different. Meanwhile most fox/falco/etc, the floor and ceilings can be separated by a decent amount.

You hear his tale of how he is an egotistical villain.
You hear the things he says. You see the type of person he is. He has truly been a rude crude dude.
But really look at him. Look at how human he is when he wins and loses.
Look at how he is at Evo. He claims to be a god, he claims that he will win at EVO.
When he finally reaches that point, when he finally wins Evo, he basically broke into tears, stood proudly, in front of millions, with his hands cusped, humbled and polite.
The truth is, it was always a bluff. He was an underdog. Everyone knew this.
All in all, I wouldn’t define Leffen as a god slayer. He is more like Hercules. He is a young man who was born of the gods and longed to sit next to them as equals. Against all odds, he went from zero to Hero. Leffen, the Hero.

No, it really shouldn't. That'd just defeat the entire point of Smash and take away part of what makes it stand out. Smash isn't "every other fighting game", and it by no means should attempt to change that. Due to how Smash is set up, even if your opponent is way behind, that doesn't mean you can just relax and figure you've already won. The fact that you CAN beat an opponent who's at 80% when you're at 157% is what makes Smash exciting. You can't predict the outcome just by looking at the current situation, because the way things look one moment can go the complete opposite direction not even five seconds later.
If you want "equal damage", go ahead and play on Stamina mode and see for yourself just how compatible Smash is with what works in "every other fighting game".

He tried to say he can't absorb all the knowledge (there are games with way more knowledge required, so he's lying). The knowledge aspect is just the unofficial tutorial of tekken. The skills part comes after. He realized Tekken was the game where he can't touch the top 1%, so he "respectfully" made a bunch of bs excuses to say the game was not beginner friendly and ran from it. Hopefully, he keeps trying though. His expectation for Tekken was too unrealistic and he thought he could become top player just like any other fighting game. He should give it more time.

Mad respect for Leffen, one of the few guys in history to talk shit when not being on top, only to get to the top and follow up on his shit talking. rep

I've liked Leffen ever since he was the villain. He was too good of a villain for me to hate him. Even back then, whether you liked him or hated him, when Leffen plays it's always a must-see match. I love the excitement that follows him, I think he's part of what keeps the game alive.
