+mouseno4 Also i didnt actually know how to manually aim the torpedoes and bombs. I pressed Alt to choose my direction of attack but didnt know how to manipulate the aiming cone. Until now.
I got started playing carriers because i watched iChase's live stream during the CBT and i saw his carrier game play. Being a former starcraft player it looked like a lot of fun to have a RTS against enemy players that would play against me in their own way (non rts). I continue playing carriers because i believe they are the best test of skill. a better player can keep planes alive, deal damage and protect a team. carriers are easy to play but very hard to master, which is why i find them the most fun to play! I really enjoyed your video, as you said in the beginning it is an introduction but i thought it was put together beautifully and it was the best description for a manual torpedo run i've seen. i wish i had this video when i first got in to CBT.
***** i only mentioned that carriers are "easy" to play in that someone can press battle, select a plane group and then click on an enemy and everything will happen, you don't HAVE to aim, lead etc. the effectiveness might not be there but it can happen. just like DDs it is hard to play them very well. but in a DD if you make a mistake, you get blown up, in a CV you will lose planes, which you have more of.
Very well seasoned vid. Teaches all the need-to-know stuff. Can't say that for all of the WOWS content out there. Well done! You are unlikely to read this after all this time, but just in case: I advanced on all available lines except CV's to T8 (or beyond) and wanted to try out something new w/o having to abandon the game completly. Ironically, WG removing the ability to manual drop for T4 & T5 lowered the threshold for putting my toe into the water. I am a noob in my carriers, but so is everybody else: all we can ever do is autodrop. With T6 approaching fast, I really needed to get insight regarding how to do things manually. So tks for showing me!
I'm giving up on carriers, I have done everything you have suggested, I cannot get planes to attack, carrier continuously gets sunk. Other players say follow us we'll protect you, then they run off and leave me holding the bag. Hide in the corner they come down the side and get you. Carriers are a waste of time. I'm very frustrated by this.
You're awesome man, I'm just sad I found these guides after I figured out most of this stuff the hard way, however I found your tone of voice and pace of explaining the concepts very relaxing, thanks!
I wanted to try carriers because I love the feeling of being far from the battlefield and sending minions to fight instead of me :> Also great video, 10/10 bell ring !
I sadly didn't play the game soon enough to play the rts carriers and this really disappoints me because they really looked interesting, fun and challenging. And they really looked like more how they worked irl : multiple squadrons, coordinated attacks escorted by figthers, devastating strike but having to manage plane casualties, ... I still like the new carriers (even though i know they still need a bit of rebalancing, especially for t4 and 6 cv, and with their spotting capabilities) but i really would have liked a lot more the rts version. Great video even though it's useless now, XD
Watched your video, got hyped up and went to my first battle. Level 5 CV went after me, destroyed every plane I pulled out and camped me, preventing me from pulling anymore, while dropping torpedos and bombs on me. That was fun 2 minutes of my life. I left battle after I lost everything. How fun!
Thanks for the video Aeroon, it enabled me to buy a cv, play 2 games - score 9 torp hits, and finish the anniversary achievements. CV now sold and back to normal ships. CV play is an acquired taste I do not have. Appreciate showing me how to fumble my way through.
I bought the Langley yesterday and watched your vids a couple of times each. Still teaching myself the intricacies of manual torp launch but I'll get it eventually. I'm playing it safe by battling bots until I get the basic controls like second nature and then move on to real players. Still can't decide whether to stick with USN with their better fighters or IJN with their more numerous torp planes. The only problem is that I sold the Myoki because I hated that turd of a BB before bothering to unlock the Hosho. So, I'm stuck with USN carriers unless I convert XP or re-buy that damnable excuse for a BB. Excellent videos Aerroon. I hope your frustration eases because you seem too nice a guy for sharing all that info. Unfortunately in today's society nice guys finish last.
Hi how do you do the manual plane control like in your commentary videos. Or are those replays with camera focus on planes and you are actually controlling them via UI?.
Great guide. Im wanting to play a carrier because honestly i've not done it yet. I'm really good at playing a destroyer, hand a lot of fun playing cruisers and putting round after round in people's faces. But lately have become somewhat dissatisfied with the poor RNG hit percentage of Battleships.
Great guide. I've just bought my first carrier and the guide was just what I needed. I play carrier to support the fleet with an asset, which is able to move quickly from one part of the sea to another.
Thank you Aerroon. In my first battle i shot down 5 planes and made 7 torpedo hits and we won. In the next game I was our last ship at sea with 4 hungry cruisers chasing me as well as the planes from the enemy's flat top.
I'm interested in playing carriers because I enjoy strategy. And nothing speaks strategy more than playing with a birds eye view of the battlefield and being able to influence all areas of the map; Scouting, spotting enemy torps, assisting ships, and eliminating key threats.
I want to try CV's because they were a big part of history and the approach and tactics for CV's are different from everything else in the game. Thanks for the intro.
Nice and Helpful, after thousands of games in Cruisers at Wows ,I found the Carrier game-play a lot more relaxing its nice to take a break and play aCV once in a while thanks
Awesome video, I have been playing for several months and did the cruiser destroyer run down the tech tree. Found that the excitement of getting a better ship, was not satisfying since the next tier ship didnt have some magic newness. They were same little better each time. So to get the full fun of all that is this game i tried Battleships and , now i am trying for my first time carriers. I always loved red alert back in the day and carrier controls have that same appearance in play. So it sounds fun, why not.
I love playing support roles, and imo carriers are a ton of support to your team! So thats why I play them! Nice video btw! Hope you do more of them on all different kinds of ships! :D
Torpedo arming distance! I was wondering why clear hits would not register and the torpedo just disappears. So it's because the attack run was too close, or the ship has moved too close towards your attack vector by the time the torpedoes hit the water.
I play carriers because you can got a very good view of what's happening in the battle. Also you're the fastest to be able to support an ally who's in trouble.
Aerroon thanks for the useful beginners tips. I am a good DD player so already used to delivering deadly torps runs. I think in time I will get the hang of playing CVs in a very enjoyable way.
Well the reason I want to play carriers for the first time after some 1300= battles is that I'm trying to obtain the ARP Kongo and I need to shoot down 150 'planes. It is proving rather hard so far even with ships like the Atlanta and Kutosov, so I guess CV time. Also I'm trying to "do" the Project R missions and they have pearls available if you win battles in CVs. EXCELLENT video. Tomorrow I'll take my Langley out on s PvE battle.
Great vid thx , when I first bought a cv, like everyone didn't have a clue what I was doing after a miss click I ended up charging the entire enemy team with my cv , didn't go well😆
There is a Mission where after the first two sections, to proceed I need to do the third section with a carrier. I have no idea yet how to operate a carrier and the last section is with destroyers which I am good at.
In my settings i have the Alt key set to look around how do i fix it and make it to manual attacks for torp, attack and bomber planes because i wanna learn the way of the carrier.
When I'm playing in my Cleveland, I always defend our carrier(s) at the start of the match. However shooting down planes and causing panic doesn't give you any exp and credits. Still a good carrier driver can determine the outcome of the match, so it is important that they stay alive and be able to kill the enemy carrier(s). If they fail to do so they make the life of our BB drivers very difficult. And enemy DD's can be spotted by fighters, which is great for our team.
Would you recommend USN or IJN carriers? I'm tier V in both lines, but the loadouts for USN look terrible up until tiers IX-X. IJN on the other hand seems to have fairly balanced loadouts all the way through, though the huge number of squadrons looks irritating.
Nice vid! I'm excited to get into carriers and grinding my Wyoming for the Langley. I want to play carriers because I find carriers far more appealing than big battleships. That, and the Ranger looks awesome.
thanks a lot aerroon !! this really helps.... especially on how to attack the destroyer in guide part 2, got 2 kills on destroyers trying to ambush me lol btw, i have few questions 1. with additional captain skills, does your build have any possible changes in current version (0.5.6 - 0.5.7) 2. do torpedo acceleration skill affect the range where torpedo are armed ?
Nice work Aerroon. I switch from destroyers to cruisers and to battleships when I like to change tactics. Now I have another challenge with carriers. I am a senior citizen so I am a slow learner. Where I can find a printable chart of carrier commands?
What is the use of using left Alt on fighters. I notice in training room I can set them to fly in a 'direction', and even though there is no enemy they seem to use up all their ammunition. ?
That's a "strafe run". If you do it while highlighting a enemy air group(s) in that rectangle you can inflicted quit some damage, but you can't give any orders once you have committed to the strafe run.
Well... i started playing WoWS mainly because Carriers and Battleships. I'm a huge fan of WW2 sea actions (especially Pacific Carriers usage of both IJN and USN, but also Battleships and Heavy Cruisers actions on Atlantic - e.g. brakthtrue Englis/LaManche channel by Kriegsmarines Ships Of a Line from Brest - Sharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen). I love my IJN CVs, thou imho they are easier to play on lower tiers due to more airgroups - on 4th tier you have 2 torpedo bomber groups instead of 1 in USN, so its easier to cause floodings. My little add to your guide is that when you want to fast select few groups (especially when your groups are mixed on the map and from that mix you want to select only one kind of planes) you can use SHIFT key - just select (by pressing number key on keyboard) first group, then press (and hold) SHIFT and by pressing proper number keys add more groups to that one you selected first; IMHO its much faster selecting than trying to pick them one by one from mix - but you have to know your carrier good so without thinking you know what kind of planes you have under what number. Keep up a good work here Matey! I hope to meet you on High Seas soon! btw - my WoWS nick is LysyPOL
***** I do play on EU...I'm from Poland, you know (asked You on your other movie comment where are you from).... BTW: Just had awesome game on my Zuiho: screenshooter.net/101962350/dupklqx screenshooter.net/101962350/ujuuysx screenshooter.net/101962350/hdgoixe Notice please that i do not have Premium Account ;) Just used flags for money and Exp, cuz my Zuiho is not yet fully upgraded ;)
***** thnx M8.... I realy try hard to achieve you standard of CV gameplay. Also grinding up my US cruisers so if we meet we can play alongside so i could provide AirCover for you on start of battle ;) Appreciate you opinion....and was wondering if anyone would notice that 1 tier higher CV on enemy team and this cleveland ;) You did - PRO ;) hehehe
Great tutorial Aerroon. I have been searching for a simple detailed tutorial like this for hours. One question, in Settings/CONTROLS what do you have set for "Give Order" mine appears blank.
***** Thanks. It appears to me there may be a slight bug with random settings. The third day of play I could not fire any guns on any ships. After hours of getting massacred my young grandson noticed that the CONTROLS have a faint slider and sliding down saw that the fire slot was blank. Again thanks for best intro.
Thank you for your video , I am new and I use Langley , I notes that some players can fly 2 fighters in the same time , how I can do that ? thank in advance
In my opinion awarness should be number 1 pick, this skill give you a chance to survive when destroy sneaks to you, when you dont have it he is already too close. That way you can get away earlier and dont get that flooding or fire. Other than that awesome vid and would love to see how to aproach enemies with JPN torpedo bombers :P Their spread makes it really hard to hit even 4 torps with 2 squadrons when enemy knows what he is doing.
***** hmm i just saw your vid and my mistake was that i dont stack my bombers so hard, mine were a little bit desynchronized, unfortunetly it caused that out of my 8 torpedos max 3 and more often 2 hits when someone tries to dodge. Thanks for help ! :) Still would love to see more carrier gameplays ;)
Thank you for the guide! Maybe i will look into carriers in the future. I am more of an Battleship/light cruiser guy. How did you get into that "singleplayer" map?
Thanks Aerroon for this great gift! The very reason that made me play CV was the RTS element it had. Also to include that both you and iChase influenced me to play it and I played it quite well although there are times where I mistimed my torpedo bombing run and they were not armed, passing through the ships. I have a couple of questions for you and need some guidance from the IJN perspective. I only reached T6 Ryujo and farming for T7 Hiryu right now. 1st:- Why was Expert Rear Gunner not taken as I believe it amplifies the defense of your planes from fighters? 2nd- Would it be redundant for me if I were to use Air Group Modifications 1 but I run a full TB and DB strike team? 3rd- I am still confused with the stats called LOADOUT for fighter planes despite asking in the Asia forum. Does higher numbered LOADOUT means my fighter have more ammunition? 4th- Is it true that the DPS in fighter stats meant per fighter and not per squadron? Lastly, is there any way for us to see the maths involved in a fighter to fighter combat? Thank you for reading!
Farhan Brohan 3.Loadout is ammo and it's showed in seconds. 18 ammo is shooting 18 seconds, so to calculate the damage output of this squadron you take dps*loadout*4/6 for the amount of fighters in the squadron. 4. As said above per plane 5. Air combat is pretty much the same as AA - dps vs hp + lots of RNG. Here is how it looks for Langley (X) vs Hosho(Y). So X fighters have 30 dps x 6 planes = 180 with 720 hp for each plane. Y fighters are 30 dps x 4 planes = 120 dps with 780 hp. So they start fighting and it's 180 (X) vs 120 (Y) dps. X fighters will deal 780 damage in ~4.3 sec +/- RNG that can be big, while Y fighter will deal only 520 damage for this 4.3 seconds. At this point 1Y fighter dies (780hp per plane) and their dps is down to 30 x 3 planes now. After another ~4.3 seconds they will lose another fighter while probably causing enough damage already to shoot down 1 Langley fighter, but probably won't have enough time to kill 2nd before the rest die. That's pretty much how it works, there are of course perks and ship upgrades for more hp and damage that change the stats.
+Sharana Wot I envy your math/algebra skills. I wanted to major in history and set the curve in a couple of college classes except algebra killed me...so now I do maintenance in a shitty job instead of teach my passion all because colleges think you need algebra to teach history...unless you're an athlete and basically given a pass.
I wanted to play carriers because I want to play all the classes. That, and i saw iChases video and one by you were you just sink stuff. I still play them all, but carriers are my favorite. As long as the match up is good you can really make a difference in the battle.
Having been a very succesfull game player in the 80's and 90's, I'm not as quick, quick you need for the FPS games of today; lost that edge a few year ago to be sure. In the mid 80's intellivision II, came out with B-17 bomber which I loved for while. Having just watched some youtube video game play reviews, I am surprised that my memory of the game has better graphics than that which I see the game actually does! (funny how that is) I just bought my first aircraft carrier, yet to play it. The point is I like the carrier idea as I like going from games like cod to wot, to wow, and trying the carrier duty seems appealing as it would be to go submarine and more like playing chess.
How do you know the arming distance? I got few experiences where enemy CV dropped torp really near me and just goes nothing. Is it just by guessing? Also, would like an updated commander skills especially because they changed some stuffs there.
Yeah, you get a feel for it eventually. Arming distance is actually based on time rather than torpedo speed (nowadays?). So different speed torpedoes arm at different distances too.
I am playing carriers because I wanted at least 1 type of every ship. I went Japanese which may of been a mistake as American Carriers seem to wreck my planes. The most fun I've had in my Hosho was when I ran out of planes, I charged in with my secondary's firing, managed to finish off a cruiser by ramming him and then another cruiser got sunk because their allied torp bombers torped him by mistake. So much fun.
Nice guides, still dont get how you have such high scores and kills. Geuss i have to practice more. Do you by any chance have a tip how to coop with USA fighters, my t5 Japanese fighters vanish like snow before the sun making the game unplayable sometimes
You sound like a good candidate for the Platinum Club. Answer this: how many exotic supercars have you left abandoned at airports because you were late for a flight? Hint: It's a trick question. Thanks for the tip!
I play carriers partly as a change of pace, partly because they are a very powerful tool, and to understand how carriers work, so I can hunt them down in destroyers and cruisers.
***** Apparently I'm a more ballsy destroyer player than those. I also don't have to hunt tier 8 carriers at the moment. It's mostly tiers 4 and 5 I have to deal with. I'm a big fan of not firing all my torpedoes at once too. First spread to cause a turn, second to hit during the turn, then come about for the tubes on the other side of the ship (I play US destroyers mostly). Lastly, just because I can fire torpedoes from 5.5km away, doesn't mean I should launch from that range :)
Any tips for those poor captains playing the really slow Langley and Bogue? These carriers tend to die much quicker than thier Japanese counterparts because they are often left behind and far from the action. Positioning of the carriers is everything to be the best help to your team since you enjoy a much faster bomber turnaround.
hey why u skip the AA skills? i heard they can be REALLY useful for your carrier against other carrier attacks that are common. also what u think about rear gunner skill? and y u think the fighter skill is worth it? heard it doesnt always works and the bonus is minimal, maybe better to get something else?
***** i heard they can make your AA better, and the range boost can make u a pain to ANY enemy carrier, as u will engage them so far away that it will hurt their attempts to attack from the right angle, or at least make their losses MUCH greater. i heard its highly recommended. u recommend basic survivability first, and what second priority? AA and secondary boost? situational awareness? i thought that the rear gunner thing is too weak but there are still 3 other useful carrier skills at tier . i even considered not taking a lvl 5 skill and instead taking all the useful lvl 1 skills, and the AA range boost
***** well it can still reduce incoming torps with the improved AA, and make even few survivors that skill really only makes your fighters and dive bombers a bit stronger, which isnt massive, and it takes 5 points. btw can u make a skill guide for other ship classes? im really not sure what to take as some skills have hidden mechanics that make all the difference...i already chose several wrong skills and i dont want to do so again. also do u have any idea if a non gold skill reset will be implemented anytime soon? its really frustrating!
***** u take the jack skill for the damage control cooldown? u sure its worth it? u can take a premium consumable instead...no other skill is better? for IJN destroyers i think ill focus hard on torps and stealth, so awareness, torp reload, extra consumables, last stand, concealment. this seems like a good choice. maybe later i can take high alert/vigilance, maybe basic survivability too. for USN destroyers they are more focused on guns and less on torps so its harder... some suggest getting reduced chance for module damage on last skill...and some also say aiming expert is more important, while other say their turret traverse is good enough. for IJN cruisers i heard they are more focused on guns too, and the torps are too short ranged so used only when u get a lucky short range chance. it seems that aiming expert is recommended, high alert too, basic survival, all AA abilities seem useful for them, maybe even last stand...and on last skill im really not sure... for USN cruisers i heard u need to focus hard on guns and AA, so all AA skills, basic survival, probably expert aiming or something else, probably high alert, then the AA range, and finally...not sure, same as IJN cruisers, maybe jack for the AA barrage cooldown...dont know for cruisers and USN destroyers, demolition expert seems nice. u say fire prevention is utterly useless along with rear gunner? i got stuck with some wrong skills and i really hope i can reset those :( btw for BBs i think like u basic survival, and then take aiming expert instead of that fire prevention i took :( high alert seems nice, even when some say extra repair is better, AA bonus helps, and then im not sure either...the 10% for damage control doesnt seem to worth 5 points, so i think i would take something else. some recommend less module damage but it seems like not a big BB problem... maybe ill take other useful skills instead like vigilance maybe, lvl 1 AA and secondary power, and maybe indirect fire alert to help me pay more attention in long range battles when i cant see everything...
***** why so long?? why not let us reset our skills like in any other game? i dont mind a credit penalty like normal its acceptable but now im stuck with these skills. yea but till tier 9 and 10 torps are not that good...and still US destroyers use their guns a lot too. so u think the 10% cooldown skill at lvl 5 is the best and worth the 5 points?
I do want to know what do manual fighter do, i try that and it seems to kill every thing on sky even friendly bomber, Is that true that manual fighter(alt+click) do friendly fire damage?
Spent 25 years in the Navy on Carriers. Natural attraction
Hope playing carriers doesn't make you hate them now.
This is easily the most knowledgeable and comprehensive introduction to Carriers that anyone can come across. Bravo!
This is just what I was looking for. Thank you, you earned a sub!
+Aerroon thanks for the help!
+Lord Cerberus yeah those are pretty much why I play carriers on WoWS, and yep, I get an average of about about 8fps
CVs have plenty of brute force with torp bombers lol
Any help please, how do you command to attack planes itself,as in try to attack/shoot them? Thanks.
That guide was one of the first wows videos i ve ever watched. ;) now we need a guide how to dodge! Good luck with your way to slava
i miss this old gameplay
I sometimes miss it too.
Aerroon it’ll be cool if they added cvs to the left side of the tech tree and it’ll have ships like Essex or the old cvs and these are the rework

+mouseno4 but carriers are underpowered, because cruisers can stop a carrier attack altogether with a press of a button
+RaptorDoesRUclips It' their use. Cruisers are AA mobile towers. That's why a cruiser shall always be following a BB

Thx :). I only have tier 4, so that shouldn't be a problem for a looooooooooooooong time :D.
Thank you. Carriers require a seperate set of skills and the challenge is nice. Also I served on the USS Kitty Hawk in the 70's.
I share this with all my friends that are starting with carriers !. Best guide ever !
***** They do indeed , since they always tell me to shutup after watching this because they already " Know " haha
I want to try CV's because they were a big part of history and the approach and tactics for CV's are different from everything else in the game. Thanks for the intro.

Funny that this is the best guide out there.
Even WG have not produced a guide on how to use a class of ship. They should be embarrassed.
Torpedo arming distance! I was wondering why clear hits would not register and the torpedo just disappears. So it's because the attack run was too close, or the ship has moved too close towards your attack vector by the time the torpedoes hit the water.
Great guide! Finally I got a better unterstanding for my beloved carrier. Good job!
I needed this as well. Over 1000 games played and never with a carrier.
Thank you so much! I was clueless, but I learned so much from this video.
Great vid thx , when I first bought a cv, like everyone didn't have a clue what I was doing after a miss click I ended up charging the entire enemy team with my cv , didn't go well😆
Is there a way to change the spread of torpedoes from the TBs? I've seen in other videos that they can select a wide/narrow spread.
There is a Mission where after the first two sections, to proceed I need to do the third section with a carrier. I have no idea yet how to operate a carrier and the last section is with destroyers which I am good at.
Thanks, very useful. What program are you using to record the game-play?
In my settings i have the Alt key set to look around how do i fix it and make it to manual attacks for torp, attack and bomber planes because i wanna learn the way of the carrier.
Can you remake this as a modern version? Also your accent and videos are much better!
Can you change the torpedo spread for planes like you can for ship-launched torpedoes?
Now that captain skills have been overhauled, have your recommendations changed? I am wondering particularly about torpedo acceleration at level 3.
How to minute 2:56??? I ctrl + click but do not respond. thx
Aerroon i have a question...can i change the torpedo spray on the cv?and if is possible how i can i do that?
Nice vid! I'm excited to get into carriers and grinding my Wyoming for the Langley. I want to play carriers because I find carriers far more appealing than big battleships. That, and the Ranger looks awesome.
with what keys are you selecting groups and setting waypoints . ? .
Because I've always loved and was fascinated by aircraft carriers
thanks a lot aerroon !! this really helps....
especially on how to attack the destroyer in guide part 2, got 2 kills on destroyers trying to ambush me lol
btw, i have few questions
1. with additional captain skills, does your build have any possible changes in current version (0.5.6 - 0.5.7)
2. do torpedo acceleration skill affect the range where torpedo are armed ?
Great video! Now I understand the controls a lot better. Next comes learning the strategy!
Nice work Aerroon. I switch from destroyers to cruisers and to battleships when I like to change tactics. Now I have another challenge with carriers. I am a senior citizen so I am a slow learner. Where I can find a printable chart of carrier commands?
Thanks for the great guide. Since you asked, I wanted a way to dictate the direction of battles.
Why is it that when i use carrier.
I do not have such an interface
Instead i have a manual control of planes?
What is the use of using left Alt on fighters. I notice in training room I can set them to fly in a 'direction', and even though there is no enemy they seem to use up all their ammunition. ?
That's a "strafe run". If you do it while highlighting a enemy air group(s) in that rectangle you can inflicted quit some damage, but you can't give any orders once you have committed to the strafe run.
Great tutorial and just in time too because I just got the Langley! (love your accent btw)
Brilliant. Subscribed, Thumbs up. I'll be watching this several times before I start on my first Langley.
Thank you.
thank you! I'm rolling with friends and a carrier will be a useful addition to the fleet they already have
Well... i started playing WoWS mainly because Carriers and Battleships.
BTW: Just had awesome game on my Zuiho:
screenshooter.net/101962350/dupklqx
screenshooter.net/101962350/ujuuysx
screenshooter.net/101962350/hdgoixe
Notice please that i do not have Premium Account ;) Just used flags for money and Exp, cuz my Zuiho is not yet fully upgraded ;)
Is there a way to change the spread of manual torpedo drop?
Can u change the view from top down to 3rd person like other ships ? 3rd person will make it easier to try dodge enemy torps .
***** Cool , thx .
Thank you for your video , I am new and I use Langley , I notes that some players can fly 2 fighters in the same time , how I can do that ? thank in advance
Also is there any way to re set the Captains skills ?
Any chance of making an updated video?
How do you open a battle with only 1 people in the tutorial?
thanks for this extensive video. it should be a training guide. Very helpfull when u get ur 1st carrier.
How did you get the bots/training area
Thank you for the guide! Maybe i will look into carriers in the future. I am more of an Battleship/light cruiser guy. How did you get into that "singleplayer" map?
Ok thank you very much!
how do you change so that you have more the one set of topedo bombers in the air on the langlay if it is doable
Ahh okay thx m8
How do I see the entire squadron of planes I only see 1 plane which is storta "stacked"
Can you somehow change the spread of torpedoes? And how do you change the angle of manual attack when you press LAlt?
*****
Understood, thought so. Thank you.
Farhan Brohan
3.Loadout is ammo and it's showed in seconds. 18 ammo is shooting 18 seconds, so
to calculate the damage output of this squadron you take dps*loadout*4/6 for
the amount of fighters in the squadron.
4. As said above per plane
5. Air combat is pretty much the same as AA - dps vs hp + lots of RNG. Here is
how it looks for Langley (X) vs Hosho(Y). So X fighters have 30 dps x 6 planes
= 180 with 720 hp for each plane. Y fighters are 30 dps x 4 planes = 120 dps
with 780 hp. So they start fighting and it's 180 (X) vs 120 (Y) dps. X fighters
will deal 780 damage in ~4.3 sec +/- RNG that can be big, while Y fighter will
deal only 520 damage for this 4.3 seconds. At this point 1Y fighter dies (780hp
per plane) and their dps is down to 30 x 3 planes now. After another ~4.3
seconds they will lose another fighter while probably causing enough damage
already to shoot down 1 Langley fighter, but probably won't have enough time to
kill 2nd before the rest die. That's pretty much how it works, there are of
course perks and ship upgrades for more hp and damage that change the stats.
As long as the match up is good you can really make a difference in the battle.
and are the nightmare of a unprotected bb because his Team got no clue what Its doing :D
This video is old...... So nostalgic
The torpedo arming range information is incorrect.
Thanks aerroon, needed a recourse.
Having been a very succesfull game player in the 80's and 90's, I'm not as quick, quick you need for the FPS games of today; lost that edge a few year ago to be sure. In the mid 80's intellivision II, came out with B-17 bomber which I loved for while. Having just watched some youtube video game play reviews, I am surprised that my memory of the game has better graphics than that which
I see the game actually does! (funny how that is) I just bought my first aircraft carrier, yet to play it. The point is I like the carrier idea as I like going from games like cod to wot, to wow, and trying the carrier duty seems appealing as it would be to go submarine and more like playing chess.
thanks so much for this, can you change the torp width like boats can im sure ive knocked something that did haha
+Aerroon okk thanks anyway
ah its when your torpedo divers get shot at, it widens the angle must be due to losing formation or something
Thanks for the tutorial. I want to try carriers, because I have tried all the other classes. I may not climb up the tech tree very far.
Hi, I wanted to try a bit of everything and see what it was like and if it was the best ship for me to play.
thx man tat was very helpful, just wondering does japanese cv can 1v1 us fighter?
Nice guides, still dont get how you have such high scores and kills.
Geuss i have to practice more.
Do you by any chance have a tip how to coop with USA fighters, my t5 Japanese fighters vanish like snow before the sun making the game unplayable sometimes
Sorry if this has been answered before, but how do you set up an empty map like the beginning of this video? Thanks for this vid!
You sound like a good candidate for the Platinum Club. Answer this: how many exotic supercars have you left abandoned at airports because you were late for a flight? Hint: It's a trick question.
Thanks for the tip!
Welcome to the Club!
this is a noob question but how do you know if they repair
A very informative basic guide, thank you i have subbed to your channel.
It was just what i was looking for big thumbs up.
How did you get the 1 on 1 mode? I couldn't seem to figure this out.
Thanks, I later figured it out. A quick question, does it still work for the newest version?
i'm just wondering, but why are ur torp bombers's highlighted area so short and wide?
+shadowblobSS IJN torpedo bombers had their manual drop spread changed a couple patches ago.
hey why u skip the AA skills? i heard they can be REALLY useful for your carrier against other carrier attacks that are common.
also what u think about rear gunner skill? and y u think the fighter skill is worth it? heard it doesnt always works and the bonus is minimal, maybe better to get something else?
*****
i heard they can make your AA better, and the range boost can make u a pain to ANY enemy carrier, as u will engage them so far away that it will hurt their attempts to attack from the right angle, or at least make their losses MUCH greater.
i heard its highly recommended.
u recommend basic survivability first, and what second priority? AA and secondary boost? situational awareness?
i thought that the rear gunner thing is too weak but there are still 3 other useful carrier skills at tier .
i even considered not taking a lvl 5 skill and instead taking all the useful lvl 1 skills, and the AA range boost
*****
well it can still reduce incoming torps with the improved AA, and make even few survivors
that skill really only makes your fighters and dive bombers a bit stronger, which isnt massive, and it takes 5 points.
btw can u make a skill guide for other ship classes? im really not sure what to take as some skills have hidden mechanics that make all the difference...i already chose several wrong skills and i dont want to do so again.
also do u have any idea if a non gold skill reset will be implemented anytime soon? its really frustrating!
*****
u take the jack skill for the damage control cooldown? u sure its worth it? u can take a premium consumable instead...no other skill is better?
for IJN destroyers i think ill focus hard on torps and stealth, so awareness, torp reload, extra consumables, last stand, concealment.
this seems like a good choice.
maybe later i can take high alert/vigilance, maybe basic survivability too.
for USN destroyers they are more focused on guns and less on torps so its harder...
some suggest getting reduced chance for module damage on last skill...and some also say aiming expert is more important, while other say their turret traverse is good enough.
for IJN cruisers i heard they are more focused on guns too, and the torps are too short ranged so used only when u get a lucky short range chance. it seems that aiming expert is recommended, high alert too, basic survival, all AA abilities seem useful for them, maybe even last stand...and on last skill im really not sure...
for USN cruisers i heard u need to focus hard on guns and AA, so all AA skills, basic survival, probably expert aiming or something else, probably high alert, then the AA range, and finally...not sure, same as IJN cruisers, maybe jack for the AA barrage cooldown...dont know
for cruisers and USN destroyers, demolition expert seems nice.
u say fire prevention is utterly useless along with rear gunner?
i got stuck with some wrong skills and i really hope i can reset those :(
btw for BBs i think like u basic survival, and then take aiming expert instead of that fire prevention i took :(
high alert seems nice, even when some say extra repair is better, AA bonus helps, and then im not sure either...the 10% for damage control doesnt seem to worth 5 points, so i think i would take something else.
some recommend less module damage but it seems like not a big BB problem...
maybe ill take other useful skills instead like vigilance maybe, lvl 1 AA and secondary power, and maybe indirect fire alert to help me pay more attention in long range battles when i cant see everything...
*****
why so long?? why not let us reset our skills like in any other game? i dont mind a credit penalty like normal its acceptable but now im stuck with these skills.
yea but till tier 9 and 10 torps are not that good...and still US destroyers use their guns a lot too.
so u think the 10% cooldown skill at lvl 5 is the best and worth the 5 points?
*****
i never said tier 10 are not good, i said till those tiers, the torps are not that great
I do want to know what do manual fighter do, i try that and it seems to kill every thing on sky even friendly bomber,
Is that true that manual fighter(alt+click) do friendly fire damage?
so it is not good to use when having dogfight or they chasing down friendly bomber
Thanks Aerroon. This was very helpful :)
Wich carrier is better usa or japan?
Great video and production!
