If it matters to him that his children grow up Muslim and his wife wants to continue to practice her religion and raise the kids her way then he should probably get a divorce before kids come into the picture. I mean, its common sense what needs to be done.
Islam has allowed a man to marry christians and jews and having 4 wives but it’s up to us to make the right decisions, it’s part of the test.

it is dangerous (but permissible) to marry a (chaste) jew or christian woman.
She can affect ur children and make them nonmuslims. so the man must choose wisely and think deeply
