What an inspiration. I love that Annalease is so active and has a full on job and a house of kids.
I am a bit older and menopausal. I did tell the consultant but he just ignored the comment. So I decided to try HRT with the help of my doctor and it has helped alot with sleeping and brain fog. I’m currently building up my exercise after a hip replacement last year. I too box and am building back my running. It’s hard on the muscles but I always loved it. My distance is 10km and only dream of marathons. So for me, so far, exercise and HRT are working. I just wish the neurologists were better educated.
I love that Annalease said ‘I am a mature woman and I can make my own decisions’. Yes we are women and we are capable of making our own informed decisions.
Thanks again for another amazing interview.

Great video! I can definitely speak to having Parkinson's and being in perimenopause. I have less energy when exercising when I have my period. Also, I think the hormone levels vary greatly, which has been challenging at times. I know there is a correlation to estrogen levels and fatigue throughout the day, but without blood levels being analyzed it can't be easily documented. Maybe that speaks to your idea of hormone replacement therapy being a possible treatment (to make levels less erratic). I don't know. I am at relatively early stages of Parkinson's. Curious how this would affect women at different stages of Parkinson's in perimenopause. Again, great video!!!! Thank you!!!😀

Thanks for your comment. You're right to observe that each person experiences the challenges of Parkinson's in a different way and that one factor in this is that each person encounters Parkinson's at a different time of life.

There is not enough evidence to know conclusively regarding safety of Parkinson's medications during pregnancy or nursing.
Here is an article that collects and reviews the data from multiple small studies about this subject: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7042376/
The authors write, "According to the current state of the art, L-DOPA therapy should be considered preferable to other drugs during pregnancy." However, decisions about medication use must be made in consultation with your own care team, as each person's circumstances and health concerns are unique.
