Better in many ways. But its funny how you missed tge safety part. Also when u do review the safety part please dont do what others do and just read specs on paper. Both these cars have 2 airbags n other electronic aids. But the baleno has a questionable safety structure and every accident i have seen or read about involving a baleno hasnt ended well for the car. The baleno ncap rating isnt great and the one tested isnt the same one which is for indian market which i feel.is more compromised for lowering costs. I dont own either of the cars. Just giving my view. Our life is most important and you need to review even safety.
I don’t recommend GT TSI for regular kanjoos... It is made for enthusiast.. Once you sit inside, you feel safe... even 30 lakh more luxury sedans cant beat gttsi cruising...
@@pravingnanam3115 My dad bought Polo Diesel in 2011, and his friend(Hyundai lover) bought i20 Petrol in 2012 because of its cheap maintaince. But gotta say, my dad has driven polo now for almost 170k KM now and car is really responsive till now, specially it's Turbo and Build is something which you definitely can't get in any car of this price range. However, i20 is spacious, has cheaper maintenance, light steering (which I personally like) and some extra features in interior(which to be honest are useless). But polo had some major crashes, but still polo saved the passengers and I guess if it was some other small car, it would have been destroyed. So, in terms of Dynamics and Safety and Looks(own choice) Polo is way better than i20

@@pravingnanam3115 I personally like Toyota very much because of their comfort and Etios itself is a really comfortable and spacious car. I have driven my uncle's 7yo Etios and it has a pretty refined engine. But I can say, polo even has a better and aggressive engine, whether you drive it in city or hilly area, power won't be the limit in this price segment. Our Polo is now almost 9 yo and 1.75 lacs km driven. But believe me there has been no issues with the engine yet. Acceleration has decreased a bit now(takes approximately 13 secs to reach 100), but that's after a heavy usage of Polo and for a long time. Yeah, the service is a bit expensive, it is because there parts are really premium and better than Hyundai and Maruti and aren't easily available in local market. And I have seen the parts used by VW and parts used in Hyundai/Maruti from local market. Also which many people don't know, when a single part gets damaged, they change whole system around it, for eg, my car's pipe of liquid coolent was damaged, they changed many things with it as well. It's their company policy

I liked all the videos of power drift except Baleno RS vs Polo GT TSI POLO is way far ahead compared to Baleno 1 solid cabin Harman kardon touch screen music system better noise cancellation cabin DSG 7 speed gear box awesome 4 cylinder 1.2 turbo better than 3 cylinder 1.0 turbo better handing and cornering than Baleno quality interiors it's more powerful and stable and durable top speed 210 kmph so this is better sports hatch back with mileage of 16.5 km in highways and 11 kmpl in the city

The Baleno RS that suzuki sells here isn't even a real contender, lol. Polo GT will run rings around the tin can. Suzuki sells a faster, well built version of the RS in Europe, producing more power and torque. *That* would be a real competitor to the GT, not this. To be honest, I'd pick either the JTP Tiago or the Figo S. It's more practical than both the RS and the GT, while being pretty fast.
I am a maruti suzuki owner from last 4 years (RUNNING 65k kms), last year I got a vw polo (RUNNING 22k kms) & now I would never turn back to maruti suzuki again. The build, drive quality and safety standards are superior in VW. The metal on VW is more stronger than (ANY) maruti suzuki running today. VW is worth every penny, you will know the toughness of polo just by closing its doors. Spending same amount on a maruti is a total waste. And people say maruti has low maintenance. Really?? the service cost is around 5-6K twice in a year for maruti suzuki VW gets serviced for 12k (1 service + 1 general checkup) annually and not a single penny spent on my polo for any issues till now. The baleno can't even match the safety standards of ford figo and fiat punto and you guys are comparing it with a poloGT and that too with a DSG gearbox !! This video looks like a car commercial not a true review

I don't know how to put it technically, but for a moment you forget the cars and appreciate how well executed / packaged the show is- music , content, special effects etc.; there is a punch to it all. Automotive shows in are a bit too dull- dead music, in the midst of desolate highways, some lousy close-up and panning shots to add to the nonexistent drama, and show anchors who would be more at ease selling high-end apartments. IMHO, PD has the best anchors for automotive content in this country right now, including Gavin from the Autocar channel.
Comparing European cars with Japanese and Korean cars is a foolishness. Volkswagen Ford and fiat is a beautiful royal class car at affordable prices, at the same time Japanese extracting the people's innocence or foolishness, yes maintenance is a bit expensive but life is more precious, and unmatched driving experience. Instead of buying a Japanese car, it will be better to buy seconds ford or Volkswagen, which is not only cheaper to buy moreover it will be much cheaper to maintain aswell. For example I bought a used vento instead of i20, by which I saved 5 lakhs of rupees, and if u calculate 10 percent depreciation value, plus 10 percent bank intrest plus 3 percent insurance premium which is about 23 percent savings every year, which amounts to 1.19 lakh. And even if u send 50 thousands of rupees on service, u would be saving about 69 thousand rupees every year.

If this is my first performance hatch,i will go with RS hands down!! But the Fiat abarth punto is a tempting proposition for me albeit practicality is what one needs to give up then!! Fantastic videography once again.
Both nice cars. But if you're really in the market for a hot hatch and do not want to buy the abarth then the polo is the best bet. Neither of these cars offers performance which is enough to satisy an enthusiast. The polo is extremely mod friendly. There are remaps, performance upgrades from well known tuners from around the world. Despite the heavier weight it beats the baleno rs. N the difference is bigger post 100kmph. A remap, free flow exhaust will take the top end to 210-230kmph on speed97 n make it faster then many cars from 2 classes above. Those who can afford to spend more can also upgrade suspension to kw street comfort n lower car by 10-15mm. Btw petes also offers retrofit of rear discs for the gt. And you can upgrade to bigger brakes in the front.

Ashwin Srinivasan Actually both the cars offer u different things of appreciation...Polo is a fast paced cute hatchback and is quite of a fun...While Baleno may not have the better acceleration but it is always known for its handling properties , spacious cabin and a very safe driving(something everyone appreciates )

I spent 8 months of research before choosing a Polo over its competition and I drove all the hatchbacks, sedans that fell in the same price bracket.

I own a polo and the best part is the steering wheel of the polo but it's handling isn't as good as the swift and the worst part which people barely talk about in the polo is that the seat is uncomfortable , when i drive swift the seat is way better and in polo the back support is just bad so in long journeys polo is a drag
I seriously hope VW brings a roomier version of Polo in 2018 and hopefully plonks 1.4 TSI engine in the top variant - whoa, that will be a blast to drive really!!
Please use the 2017 Polo GT TSI to compare with a Baleno RS. The Polo GT TSI has a color touchscree n display Audio unit (albeit not as capable as Baleno). Most importantly, the GT TSI has 16in wheels now and has plenty of grip and an even more stable, heavier steering feel.

I own VW GT TSI. Nice package all over... But in my case some features are missing like projector headlight, DRL, armrest, Rear disc break. But after market option is also there for it... So first and last choice is VW GT TSI...

You do have some valid points there but the Baleno RS is more spacious and lighter, and it gets all 4 discs. It also gets a manual gearbox.

I am a maruti suzuki owner from last 4 years (RUNNING 65k kms), last year I got a vw polo (RUNNING 22k kms) & now I would never turn back to maruti suzuki again. The build, drive quality and safety standards are superior in VW. The metal on VW is more stronger than (ANY) maruti suzuki running today. VW is worth every penny, you will know the toughness of polo just by closing its doors. Spending same amount on a maruti is a total waste.
And people say maruti has low maintenance. Really?? the service cost is around 5-6K twice in a year for maruti suzuki
VW gets serviced for 12k (1 service + 1 general checkup) annually and not a single penny spent on my polo for any issues till now.
The baleno can't even match the safety standards of ford figo and fiat punto and you guys are comparing it with a poloGT and that too with a DSG gearbox !!

Compare it with the latest GT and please it is for the enthusiast, compare the quality of body and how fast you go people dont recommend above 110 in Baleno as it might get hurt by a scooter as well.

I don't know how to put it technically, but for a moment you forget the cars and appreciate how well executed / packaged the show is- music , content, special effects etc.; there is a punch to it all.
Automotive shows in are a bit too dull- dead music, in the midst of desolate highways, some lousy close-up and panning shots to add to the nonexistent drama, and show anchors who would be more at ease selling high-end apartments.
IMHO, PD has the best anchors for automotive content in this country right now, including Gavin from the Autocar channel.

Comparing European cars with Japanese and Korean cars is a foolishness.
Volkswagen Ford and fiat is a beautiful royal class car at affordable prices, at the same time Japanese extracting the people's innocence or foolishness, yes maintenance is a bit expensive but life is more precious, and unmatched driving experience.
Instead of buying a Japanese car, it will be better to buy seconds ford or Volkswagen, which is not only cheaper to buy moreover it will be much cheaper to maintain aswell.
For example I bought a used vento instead of i20, by which I saved 5 lakhs of rupees, and if u calculate 10 percent depreciation value, plus 10 percent bank intrest plus 3 percent insurance premium which is about 23 percent savings every year, which amounts to 1.19 lakh. And even if u send 50 thousands of rupees on service, u would be saving about 69 thousand rupees every year.

Lmao, are you guys even serious? The Polo GT TSI is the *_REAL_* enthusiast's car. The Baleno RS is just a *tatkaal edition* for people who cannot digest the waiting period of the regular baleno.
If this is my first performance hatch,i will go with RS hands down!! But the Fiat abarth punto is a tempting proposition for me albeit practicality is what one needs to give up then!! Fantastic videography once again.
Both nice cars. But if you're really in the market for a hot hatch and do not want to buy the abarth then the polo is the best bet. Neither of these cars offers performance which is enough to satisy an enthusiast. The polo is extremely mod friendly. There are remaps, performance upgrades from well known tuners from around the world. Despite the heavier weight it beats the baleno rs. N the difference is bigger post 100kmph. A remap, free flow exhaust will take the top end to 210-230kmph on speed97 n make it faster then many cars from 2 classes above. Those who can afford to spend more can also upgrade suspension to kw street comfort n lower car by 10-15mm. Btw petes also offers retrofit of rear discs for the gt. And you can upgrade to bigger brakes in the front.

Ashwin Srinivasan Actually both the cars offer u different things of appreciation...Polo is a fast paced cute hatchback and is quite of a fun...While Baleno may not have the better acceleration but it is always known for its handling properties , spacious cabin and a very safe driving(something everyone appreciates )

sankalp sankrityayan bro Polo is always rated superbly for its handling and suspension. That solid build, wide lower stance n yes it's got the weight for that planted feeling. No body roll. I spent 8 months of research before choosing a Polo over its competition and I drove all the hatchbacks, sedans that fell in the same price bracket.
You guys nail every time in showing eye candy stuff about cars/bikes. I like the way you narrate any plot. I'd say Sagar does fit absolutely fantastic to any narration. Keep it up guys.

no, really i got my GT last year and it came with touchscreen display included,the sales person said that GT is similar to Pole highline but has better engine with DSG Gearbox.Mainly I saw your review 4 or 5 times and just went and bought the car.Thank you Guys for GR8 content ,keep the good work

which one to buy the vw polo or Maruti baleno as my friend has baleno so a car hit on the beam at the speed of 50 km /h and baleno took the impact but the cost of repair comes out to be rs 50000 but in the case of VW polo the car right side behind the driver seat got crumpled more than the baleno more or less the same speed
so iam not able to decide for which are should I go polo or baleno . and people are saying VW polo build quality is best than Maruti baleno

gt TSI specifically is marketed as an cruiser as an efficient cars rather than hit hatch and suspension too is more softer compared to TDI, GT TDI
Please consider Punto Abarth as well...just to see now well these 3 cars fair against the Punto keeping performance in mind...
With 140bhp and a bigger price tag, the Punto Abarth is a notch above these cars.

I own a polo and the best part is the steering wheel of the polo but it's handling isn't as good as the swift and the worst part which people barely talk about in the polo is that the seat is uncomfortable , when i drive swift the seat is way better and in polo the back support is just bad so in long journeys polo is a drag

Please use the 2017 Polo GT TSI to compare with a Baleno RS. The Polo GT TSI has a color touchscree n display Audio unit (albeit not as capable as Baleno). Most importantly, the GT TSI has 16in wheels now and has plenty of grip and an even more stable, heavier steering feel.

Nice package all over...
But in my case some features are missing like projector headlight, DRL, armrest, Rear disc break.
But after market option is also there for it...
So first and last choice is VW GT TSI...
