- Before the pig industry cuts the throats of pigs, they often send them to a gas chamber filled with carbon dioxide, to 'stun' them first. You didn't know, did you?

The gas does not make their lungs or throat burn. The gas is carbon dioxide. They suffer from a lack of oxygen.

How dare we and how dare the industry keep this atrocity from people. The industry is all about money and profit and care nothing for the welfare of animals. They see them as a commodity which brings this disgusting evil industries profit. I am tired of people saying it is too distressing to watch. Who is the victim here? For goodness sake there needs to be more transparency in all animal industries. This doesn't need to happen.
Animal welfare laws and humane slaughter acts exist you know. This video is an example of vegan propaganda.
This was filmed in Australia in a commercially operating slaughterhouse in January 2023.
@@animalsaustralia did u report it? Clearly this facility does not meet Australian regulations, not does the use of whatever the sticks were that were used to move the animals on. To see something like this, and not report it, is complicit.
The methods you see here are completely legal and routine - it's shocking, we know. Gassing is the method used to stun 85% of pigs in Australian slaughterhouses (the other 15% is electric stunning) - that's the industry's own data. We do indeed make legal complaints for cruelty that falls outside the regulations, so that action can hopefully be taken, and we're working to create change so that the legalised cruelty you see here is outlawed. Yeah I don’t eat corpses of pigs..I refuse to eat a creature that is so intelligent..they know where they are I refuse to believe that they have no idea that they are about to be killed..so many non humans are way more intelligent than we give them credit for

How can people let these sweet innocent and so very friendly lovely animals suffer like this. How can people still ´love` to eat this suffering food and feel happy and healthy to fill their stomach with pain and terror!
Thankyou for the video - the more people know, they can make informed decisions. The live export trade turned me vegan and helped me connect with animals and they, just like us, are all the same and want to live and breathe. They don't deserve it. Can we acknowledge that if everyone turned vegan, the pigs wouldn't be alive in the first place? What I'd like to know is this - are the lives of pigs (including their deaths) on Australian farms so horrific, that it's better they never existed? Peter Singer has claimed that the 'happy farm animal' objection is the greatest he's faced in the animal ethics debate. I'm curious to know about responses to this objection. Thanks.
I am 6’2 110kg Aussie bloke and after watching this as of today I quite meet. There are way more ethical ways to kill an animal. Bloody disgusting

Yes this is recent Australian footage, yes, these gas chambers are legal and routine, and yes, we do report any illegal activity we come across. Thanks for caring about these pigs.

Sadly, free range pigs end up in these same slaughterhouses and suffer right alongside pigs from intensive farms. It's also important to note that, here in Australia, only approximately 5% of pigs are farmed in 'free range' systems.
