    Bro all my professors i made sure to double - then TRIPLE check - my professor's. The only time it didn't work is when I got Montgomery for 3D Design and trust me... she's the worst! ToT

      I feel that. One Professor I checked and they had a 4.5 or something and I was like “woah!” Then I took the class and was like “oh.”

    I'm so lucky to be going to animation at Sheridan, I'm a dragon artist and I've been told my whole life by many people that I wouldn't make it drawing dragons because I had to do people. My life drawing and portfolio class helped me with people, but dragons are my number 1 subject and I felt intimidated submitting any in my work. Thank you for this video, a good reminder not to be afraid of drawing what you want for your work because of what you assume others want.

    i'm going into my senior year of highschool in a month but have already applied to SCAD and am interested in the illustration major-- your videos offer so much amazing information that helps ease my anxiety, thank you so much.
    if possible, do you have any tips for illustration majors? or just any extra info possible? im constantly worrying my art isnt good enough to become an artist as my main career.

      Hey! Thanks for commenting.
      A few of my friends are illustration majors/minors, and I have seen the kind of work they have to do. It can definitely be intense, but the main thing I hear as advice for anyone going into the major is to draw every day. Obvious cliche advice, I know, but it’s true! Draw what you see. Go to parks, coffee shops, etc and draw people/plants/things. And really OBSERVE. Take your time to get down every contour of the thing you’re drawing. Train your eye to see what you usually gloss over.
      Working on perspective helps too. One of my concept art professors said that filling a sketchbook with cubes and cylinders in perspective is one of the best ways to practice. And it can be super therapeutic lol.
      But don’t be afraid to draw what you love! If you like dragons, draw dragons! If you have any OCs or whatever, draw those! Drawing practice is better when youre drawing what you enjoy.
      Hopefully that helps! Remember that you’re still young and learning, so you don’t have to be “career ready” just yet. You got time! Don’t rush and enjoy the process

    Hi-can you help? I tried to call SCAD Admissions but they are closed for the night. I'm using my resources to try and get a quick answer to my question. My incoming freshman (fall 23) daughter is trying to match with a roommate but they are having trouble finding eachother in the "roommate finder portal). The girl she wants to room with with be an incoming transfer student. Can anyone tell me if incoming freshmen can room with incoming transfer students?

    • @BalbertAnimation
      @BalbertAnimation  Год назад

      Hi! I’m pretty sure freshmen can room with incoming transfer students. I don’t think that should be an issue. I also know that the SCAD roommate matching system isn’t the best and is prone to problems.
      I’m not sure how to best resolve the issue, unfortunately. The SCAD housing email and phone number is on the SCAD website under the page “Living in University Housing” and they should be able to help.
