- In this video I will be restoring the MGN12 linear rails for my Ender 3. This is part of my Ender 3 restoration and upgrade project. In the previous video I did a complete teardown of my old Ender 3 & these rails were removed from it after almost 4 years.
Shouldn't mix the balls. Sometimes cheap chinese manufacters use slightly smaller or bigger balls to get a proper fit in the rail. If you mix those the rails will be useless
I don't recommend using sand paper on bearings. First sand could penetrate the bearings, even small portions that cannot be seen. Secondly, you should use an ultrasonic cleaner.
how to fix the carriage block it has a play on it?
Good video. However, I would recommend doing only one carriage at a time. Counting the # of bearings for each individual carriage makes it way easier, in my opinion. As you mentioned the retaining clips vary so again, one at a time eliminates headaches. Also, I use a product called NEVER DULL. It is awesome on all metal surfaces. Otherwise, good job!
dont take this offensive but did you generate the speech on this video using AI?
Yes :)
how many balls at home MGN12?
Wd40 has white lithium grease which works well for this
White lithium grease works best
@@bluemonxterDIY that's what he said
What text to speech program are you using to narrate this video ?
Clipchamp. It is the best free one that I could find. Im sure there are better paid options though.
really cool video, can't wait for the re-assembly!
That's painstaking work. I've done that myself and it's really easy to lose those little bearings.
yup. i manage to lose a few every time I am working on these carriages
@@bluemonxterDIY I'm thinking about upgrading my S1 Pro.
@@billkaroly I say go for it. Although the S1 pro already has many of the mods and upgrades that are normally done on the original ender 3.
i had to buy a whole new set of rails because while i was lubing a shite ton of balls fell out and my rails got fucked
I like your table mat
Good job 👏
Tray ! - everytime maybe some "Brasso" then Isopropyl A min of Good Cycle Oil - grease I find collects chronic fluff
besdt ender 3 channel ever thanks for your work
