Thanks for a lovely walk! To keep an ankle mobile: attach some strings to a sandal, put it up for the night and pull the strings watching the telly or whatever. Sounds maybe like a lazy way of exercising, but works wonders. Got my ankle mobile again after it had been broken in three places. Soon after the surgeon was about to remove the metal support and was quite surprised I could recommend the Danish Ecco sandals, but for political reasons (them continuing in Russia) any other sandal would do :)
A very welcome walk indeed Terry 🧙♂( couldn't find an emoji with the right hat today). I think we've all been suffering from cabin-fever until last week. Sorry to hear you've not been well, but glad you're feeling better. I think there was so much mud about because of the conditions, no sun or wind to dry it out. Like washing on a washing-line, it needs one or the other to dry it out. You were in a reflective mood today, but I enjoy listening to your musings, they add to the interest of the walk. Also the childlike kicking of the leaves and wonderment of the mossy trees added another dimension. A senior moment with the flask too 😊, we all get them. All the best, Bev.
Ah, thanks so much Bev, your comments are always so encouraging 😊 Glad to say I am fighting fit again now and loving getting back to walking fully again 😀
Autumn was very elusive this year. I blame the lack of sunshine which, in previous years, really brings out the colours of the leaves. Well done for another lovely video. Happy Christmas to you and yours. 😊🌲
It is good to see you again. I hope you are feeling better. I feel blessed to have my base down in the south of Dorset. But I feel that the area between your walk and Sherbourne is stunning. Thank you for the video :)
It is good to see you back and sharing your enjoyment of your favourite countryside walks with us! I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with what you say about taking the time to see and rejoice in all that nature offers and those autumn colours were truly stunning. I also agree with you about the disproportionate land ownership that harks back to what was an unfair bygone age aimed at suppressing the conquered. I wonder, have you read Guy Shrubsole’s book on who owns England?
really a lovely autumn walk, with crispy leaves! this year we only got wet, mushy leaves because we had that gloomy weather here (Baltic sea Germany), too. I was also very happy to see the sun again. Great music in the video, fits very well, makes a happy mood. Did you film how you made your walking pole?
Thank you 😀 No, I didn't film the making of my pole - I actually didn't think about it sadly. I cut it from an old coppice wood and used a sharp knife to trim and clean it. It probably needs steaming to straighten it but I like the fact that it is slightly crooked 😀 I oil it every few months to keep it from drying out.
A lovely walk D.R and a nice pace. It's the best just to amble through conversing with the self and understanding the landscape and countryside. Re-private land I'm a tad left I have to say. If it were my woodland the gate would be open with a polite notice to keep it tidy - people could even camp in it. Well, good going. All the best. Mark
about the private woodland, try to look at the other side of the coin. On one side someone has taken away a woodland path from us, and we do not like that, but on the other side that someone has given us a protected woodland, where our lovely nature is now undisturbed, and we can accept that, because in the end we know that that is the best for all of us.
Hi Terry. Many thanks for your lovely video. I always enjoy watching them. I agree with you that this world seems so unfair, with a tiny percentage of the population having great wealth and power, while the vast majority of us have so little. It reminded me of 1 John 5:19 "We know that the whole world is under the control of the evil one." That must be why Jesus told us to pray the Lord's Prayer asking God "May YOUR Kingdom come, May what you want to happen be done on Earth as it is in Heaven." Obviously there is fair play and justice in Heaven, but while the Devil rules the Earth we can't really expect fair play or justice! Never mind, if each one of us tries to live by Jesus' Golden Rule "In everything, do to others what you would want them to do to you."hopefully we can play a small part in making the world a better place for everyone!
Thanks for a lovely walk!

Thank you 😊 Interesting idea with the sandals, maybe I'll try it 😀 I usually exercise it at home by using a 'bungy' pull against.

I think you were channeling your inner Woody Guthrie approaching Chetterwood 🙂

Thank you so much 😊 No, I haven't read the book but it's on my 'Christmas list'......it might make depressing reading though 🤔

Ah, thanks so much Mark 😀 I wish you owned all the woodlands around here 😀
@@terryyarrow1230 A pleasure. Hey, me too. Ha ha! Have a great weekend.

Yes, that is absolutely true, I agree with you totally 😀
