Wonderful you are able to share these lovely quiet golden carpeted woods of old as i remember from my childhood. We use to make a picture collage of the Ash, Beech & Cheshnut leaves for school and my mother would cut a few branches for her much admired country Church flower arrangements. If borne in these areas, the roots of the woods go deep into your soul like the very trees themselves ❤😊
We got our sixpenn'orth today Terry 🧙♂, a lovely autumn walk. And timely too, I suspect after the weekend past there's a lot fewer leaves and probably fewer trees! I like your description of the trees in the wood just Newtown as "senior citizens of the natural world"', but would probably class us both in that category too. Keep up the excellent work, Bev.
Once again I loved watching your video. I have walked that area of the Shire Rack on several occasions it is lovely in every season. I am amazed by the butcher’s broom it is something I didn’t come across growing up further north and east. Although I like Garston Wood, I do also like to get out towards Chase Woods and the woods north of the fort. Such a lovely area to walk thank you so much for sharing and I totally agree with Dr. Dorset Rambler and the uplift you get from walking. Elaine Just to say that although not marked on the map we found a path that leads from Garston Woods car park to the Shire Rack so you don’t have to go on the road.
Ah, thanks so much Elaine 😀 It certainly is a lovely area to walk. I had wondered if there was a path that I'd missed, partly because I saw the other end when I was walking through Garston Wood 😀
Absolutely! Walking is for free. Why have many forgotten the joy of trotting for walks unless you have a dog? Because no one is bombarding you with ads to do it.....
Dr Dorset Rambler, you are absolutely right! Go out and walk! I'm not doing long walks like you, but today I walked 6km along the coast, should do it for a good night's sleep. Have a nice sunday evening, say hello to your family, hope you are all fine after that storm. Birgit
Thanks Birgit 😀 Being in the south of England, we avoided the worst of the storm and all is ok with us apart from a lot of surface water. You have a great evening too and thanks for watching.
Well that was a nice encouraging walk in the sun in between all the gloomy days, haven't been out much but will keep tabs on the forcast for a nice day for a venture out to admire such views. So relaxing are you videos, Dorset is such a lovely place with a fascinating coastline nearby too.
Another beautiful walk. Thank you

Ah, thanks Andrew 😀 Yes, I totally agree with you - I always feel a connection to all that's around me when out walking.
Great walk on a lovely autumn day
Thanks Mick 😀

Interestingly, someone once stopped me and said to me, 'no dog?' as if they were surprised to see someone walking for the sake of it 🤔
