My first trip to Europe, traveling on the train, the most beautiful woman I met during the trip, was an amazingly beautiful red head blue eyed Ljubljana resident. I stopped in Germany, but had to visit her, and was amazed at the beauty of the town with the castle on the top and a tunnel through the mountains from old town to new. That may have changed as that was 55 years ago. What a journey, beautiful women, great drinks, friendly people, and the introduction to the Hobbit, wow. This production just shows they have more than beauty and charm, but talent as well.

Pretty good rendition of Burt Bacharach's songs. Awesome Group!!! The singers are pretty good. BUt the one with curly hair has voice that stands out.

Slovenia demuestra ser una potencia mundial en música, con estos muchachos, además del Director. Excelente homenaje al gran e inmenso Burt, a quien comencé a escuchar a los 18 años. Este video se lo dedico a mi Madre, que partió de este Mundo hace 20 meses, dejándome desolado y derrotado.

Estou aqui do Brasil só apreciando esta linda orquestra e sua performance. Como é bom ver jovens envolvidos com coisas sadias.
Slovenians and Croatians used to wander across Central Asia and Siberia, From 750BC to 400AD, roughly 1150 years. They have 3000 years of musical traditions similar to gypsies. But not actually Roma or Flamenco gypsies). The group I came from were known as musicians. It's an ancient culture with an enchanted past.
I used to play in French and Continental restaurants in Laguna Beach in 1969..
I would start the evenings with piano, jazz standards and Broadway show tunes, then play Piaf songs on French accordion, then play two sets of Flamenco, and one set of Renaissance guitar music. I closed the evening with a steel string acoustic guitar, playing 2 sets of celtic traditionals and American Folk ballads. Some nights, if patrons were Europeans, I would play classical: Bach, Chopin waltzes, Debussy, Ravel, Granados.
I gave my oldest daughter a year of piano instruction, using the pieces Bach used to teach his wife and children at home. My daughter surpassed me on piano by age 30.
Before she was born, I would play folk songs on guitar, as she danced in the womb.
In our family, at each child's birth, someone plays guitar to welcome the new life. We played at each child's wedding 25 years later.
I worked 22 years at software development and electronics design to pay the rent & food. I couldn't raise kids and do "life on the road" as a musician. I chose patenting, as our culture demands that. But music is still central to my life
These musicians in Kranj Slovenja are better trained than I am. At age 17, they have already surpassed me. They play all genres and formats. I love this orchestra.
I confess I'm not pure-Slav. I'm mixed, don't speak the regional languages.
I speak Spanish, French and Portuguese, as I'm part Mediterranean, and Native American. I pick up the language, culture, culinary and music of each country I live in, if I'm there more than a few months. The cultural variety is irresistable for me.
