If you use the RN-N1 remote for your DJI Mini 3 you can get a handlebar mount for it. Just attach the remote and phone and away you go. There's a handlebar mount for the DJI-RC (with a built-in screen) too. The Mini 3 does tracking and thanks to the obstacle avoidance sensors, it's fairly safe except when going sideways. If you haven't gotten your 107 cert, you might consider it. You do have the perfect small form factor kit of 3 cameras. Perfect for bikepacking, hiking, and other activities where weight is a factor. Love your videos! Keep up the good work!

I agree! I like the music-free videos. There are too many people who get music-happy and add in some obnoxious tune, but what makes it more obnoxious is that they have no idea how to mix the level of music into a scene but still have the spoken words audible over the music. Thanks for doing it right!

You have done an excellent job with your drone getting wonderful views, and a few that boggle me as you use the controller while riding. You can’t well in the sun light, view is small in the phone screen, you don’t have point to point flying, and you have even flow up valleys with turns while riding and over ridge lines. Darn good job. You probably know thought Litchi will let you fly point to point, even programmed points. All that would eat up some time away from making miles though. 😊

The one thing you didn't touch on is.
How do you keep your cards arranged by day?
Do they have a time stamp on the video?
Do you have a on screen meter to monitor the capacity of the card?
How do you know when it's full?
You should do a master class.

    Love your videos Ryan!
A few questions...how much of your footage actually ends up in the videos on average?
Lets say that you have about 25 hours worth of footage from a 5 day biketour. You plan on condensing that into a few episodes. Is there a certain process you have in mind while filming or editing to maintain a linear storyline into a predetermined amount of videos or maybe all the content is so good that you decide to edit it in such a way that you get a host of episodes which only covers a handful of days on thei trail?
Also...where do you draw the line on when to film and when not to? Thinking about precarious situations like getting through a very narrow trail on the side of a mountain with sheer drops, where you need all your skills just to get through the section. Would you grab the camera and start filming? Just thinking on how far one should go to get "THAT PICTURE" for the "Gram"!
Just a few thoughts about this. I am friends with an editor, albeit in the TV and Film industry here in Iceland, and she says that only about 10-20% of raw footage actually makes onto the film or tv show. But that is mainly drama, just wondering if the same applies to vloggers out on a trail...

I get this question a lot, and I don't have a good answer. I just film whatever I think is interesting, and then edit together the best parts. I've been doing this so long that I pretty much know what I need to get, so I'd say that I use 75% of the footage that I film...I don't leave my cameras running and film everything that comes my way. As far as safety, that comes first, so I'll never put myself in a tricky position just to get some footage (that when I'll use my chest mount so my hands are both on the handlebars). Thanks for the questions!!

    • @andrifsig
      @andrifsig 2 года назад +1

@@duzer thanks for the detailed reply....That setup with a camera literally on your handlebar kind of negates the need to have one rolling all the time as you can quickly grab it in case something happens. Personal safety is a must. Glad you can still get shots with that chest mount. It really enriches the experience for us viewers.
Have been looking at a simple and small point and shoot camera to take with me on my tours as I kind of want to keep my phone in the bag and not use the battery on that. That is just my preference as I see the phone as an emergency device and therefore want to use it as little as possible so it has a full charge on it for as long as possible. I still travel with about 20.000mAh battery packs but sometimes that just isnt enough between recharge points.

One suggestion/thing to consider - Provide links to all the hardware above but use Amazon's referral program, you get a small referral bonus if people buy any of the above hardware through your link. Great info, thanks for sharing! I shot video of every soccer game, family vacations, hikes, bike rides, you name it. It was a LOT of work! I actually stopped shooting (for a bit) when a parent at a game didn't recognize me because I didn't have a camera in front of my face. I realized that seeing everything through a camera view finder is not the same as seeing it with both eyes. My family actually got mad when I didn't make a video on one of our vacations! How do you keep motivated?

    • @duzer

Motivation can be hard (as evidenced by my break earlier this year) but when it comes down to it, I love the process...and now it's my full time job, so that motivates me as well. If I don't make videos, I don't make money.
