- This is a tutorial for filming bike adventures with a drone. It's a random skill, but makes videos WAY cooler. I got my first drone in 2016, the Mavic Pro, and since then I've been incorporating drone footage into all of my adventure videos, especially my bike packing tours.

I've always admired your drone handling skills while on a bike. I bought my Mini back in April but have yet to film while on my bike. I feel like I've gotten enough flight time under my belt that I'll give it a try this spring. Thank you for the advice and tips!

Great help. We already lost our first mini mavic in a very high tree in the mountains. Good tip to have lots sd cards rather than 1 big.

Dude - great info here...spot on! Totally concur and relate to everything you said. And I learned a new word: "Dronebiking". LOL Mountain biking (and more specifically bikepacking) is what got me into drones in the first place. Like you, I've received a ton of comments (mostly questions) on how I operate the drone and ride at the same time.

Helpful information even for those of us who have a backpacking/adventure (non-cycling) channel. A lot of the drone tips out there are not so geared towards outdoor adventuring for multi-day trips so this has been helpful. Thanks

Perfect timing. Having just had a flyaway with my Spark, just got a Mavic Mini 2 and learning all over again. Likewise the loss of the memory card was tougher than the loss of the drone.

Greetings Ryan: I have been enjoying your videos and watched them all the way through. Because of your inspiration, I purchased a Priority e-bike today (and extra battery) with the hope that it will get me out there and do some serious touring. I have toured many times, but because of my age and the aches that come with that, I only bicycle about 100 miles a week. Having said this, I want to pass on my appreciation for your life and fitness. I started a low sodium diet about 6 months ago and have lost some weight and feel so much better. Although I am not a vegetarian yet, I am getting there. I love refried beans too and vegetables. However, I am thankful that there is only one Ryan, for the world probably could not absorb all the excitement that you display if there were two of you. Take care!

I bought the new Mavic Mini 2 and it has the 4K camera so it's now the best when weight and space are important. It has the Auto Track pattern that many have learned to get excellent footage.

(I can say I have crashed each one of them as well as getting them caught up in trees :) )
I wanted to get one as soon as the Pro came out...and I did. But I never used it. Then the Mini came out and I got that one, then I got the Mavic Air, when it came out. Love all of them! One day while only 65' up, the mini flew away. I was bummed, but the very next day bought another Mini. A couple weeks later, the Mini 2 came out, and I bought it. Now I have 4 drones; (Pro, Air, Mini, and Mini 2) The ones I use most are the Air and the Mini 2 - I really LOVE them! I don't know if you mentioned - but I highly recommend buying the Combo kit. And I will also add, the Mini batteries can be used in the Mini 2. Plus, you can also use the props from the Mini on the Mini 2 (Although its a little sketchy...but if you're in a pinch, they'll work.) Last thing; No matter how many batteries you have - buy more!

@@duzer Of course! I get inspired so much from your channel. I do drone-biking a bit differently, as I like to have the drone attached to the handlebar and, instead of using the top of the sticks to control it while riding, I press on the ball at the base of the stick. That way my thumb slowly controls the base of the stick while also keeping contact with the rim of the controller, making it less prone to shakes etc. Not sure I was able to sufficiently describe that. Love your videos!
I enjoy all your bike adventures and videos. I recently bought an ebike and interested in getting my first drone.. but afraid of losing it and out the $$$$. They look very fun.
