Not to worry I love and melting and todays was still fun to do . I'm at 99% of my target so that's a great milestone to pass soon. Anyway have an awesome day and see you all soon.

A better way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻😁👍🏻.

HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Hey there all you awesome people how are you all today ? Some subscriber stuff melted today and a few fails but a fun time all round . A heap of fan mail opening after the video so stick around if your curious, thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoy today's fun & fails. Have a happy safe weekend and see all you beautiful people next week👋🏻😃
Do you think maybe the powdered graphite might lead to those holes in the bar??? Is the graphite powder really worth it?
Hey hey BigD. Doing well, just waking up. Happy to watch the new upload with my morning brew 😊 Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Just got off work 10 minutes ago at 1:35 am, sipping on my whiskey, gonna call out tomorrow, Not gonna work another 14 hour day after seven days of this.
Also at 21:30 was that the closest to a BigStackD face reveal as we're gonna get!? 😂
🍻👍
I've noticed you tend to get holes in your bars in the same place where the graphite accumulates - it might be oxidising and generating gas, which causes the bubbles. Might be better to use a brush and actually brush a thin layer of graphite over the whole mould instead.
PLEASE I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY HE HASNT PUT THAT TOGETHER YET. ITS EXACTLY WHERE THE GRAPHITE POWDER IS
I though that a few videos away.
And I've noticed that he gets holes(specially the ugly ones)everytimes he uses iron molds,
I've been watching his melts for almost 2 years now and I've always noticed copper with iron mold doesn't go well but the bars look great when he uses graphite molds
The goat does not make mistakes, it's clearly intended
Dear mrsmith
👍👌👏 Exactly my thoughts too. I would definitely use a brush or at least a very fine nozzle.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
I like the French Bulldog "fail" with the big base.
We're on the precipice of melting history. The anticipation after all of this time is great!
Thanks as always.
Stay safe.
next goal: 2k?
10 kg's to go Bro, what an AWESOME journey you have taken us on, I'm so excited to see you reach your goal.
Wait what will happen after the goal is reached?
@@izabellafulop476 I hope he will set a new one ;)
you very good bro thanks
Im psyched to see you so close to the goal!! Been watching for a while now and i love that i've never one time heard a voice or seen the face of a human. I love your work, dogs and video style. Keep it up man there is no way on gods green earth that i'm the only one grateful to have this content to relax and fall sleep to.
The fact that BigStack doesn't show his face or speak makes the content about what he is doing, rather than who he is. Nearly 1one and a half million people like this content enough to subscribe so he must be doing something right.
He is pretty good about not showing his face. He even pays attention to reflections. Because am always looking to see if he slips up. However there is one video where you hear his voice. He is feeding the dogs and he says to them “all gone”. That is the only time I have ever heard it though.
Critical mass
@@1982Ford1991 Would you happen to know which episode you can hear him in? I know he speaks in his early videos, but I'd be interested in seeing the one you mentioned.
I sure hope Ingot is feeling better. And yes, watch out for the snakes and other hazards!
And since it was a baby snake they always put out more venom than adults. they have not learned control and put it all out. Kind of like teenager on prom night
I'm a former boilermaker and I've always had a certain attraction for copper, I don't know why precisely but its color, its "warmth", its malleability have always made it the "metal" I prefer and that hasn't changed despite the years without being able to practice my craft anymore, I love to see your castings of this precious red metal, especially when you melt pieces as clean as this one at the beginning of the video, no impurities to "spoil" the beauty of the casting, it's fluid, homogeneous and a bit like molten lava ❤ On the other hand, I'm not a fan of holes like those that appear at the bottom of your bars, and I would certainly have remelted the ingots too.
My 6 year old wants you to know those dogs aren't fails at all. The first one is amazing and the second just has a beard. 🥰
Good one Big D. You know what they say mate, every fail is one step closer to success. Have a good weekend buddy.
No worries buddy U2 awesome man. Don’t get too messed up like I will and speak with you soon my friend. When I was filming just before your super thanks popped up on my watch so it might show in next week‘s video👍🏻
Only 10 kg to go, I can’t wait to see the BigStackD restarted, it’s going to be awesome. I love seeing all the stuff sent in by our amazing subscribers, keep it coming. Thanks for all the amazing content, mate. Stay safe3 and we’ll see you on the next one.
It's cool to see the transition from a solid to a liquid and back again. I love working with metal and glass!
I don't view the idol casting as a fail. To me I view it as an antique from hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Something that was pulled out of the ground by archeologists. It gives it character and *shouldn't* be perfect if you view it like that. Me personally, I love how it turned out!
Bubbling in molds isn't likely just water, but also traces of leftover wax. The flaming upon pouring makes it even more obvious. I'd add gypsum...as in wall board....to your plaster, as well as some sand. Tinker with the recipe till it works well for you, then make sure you heat the molds to the wax's boiling point, and hold it there for a few hours to make sure you get rid of it all. It should help a bit if you pour into hot molds too.
I'm so psyched for the 1 tonne video
excellent, my weekly therapy with Bullion and Ingot.
this is by FAR my favorite channel EVER. TY so much for sharing this with us D TY.
Nothing sweeter than a nice pure copper pour. It's truly beautiful.
990 kgs. Wow mate. You are gonna reach your target. I've been following you for two years and it's glad you are gonna make it.
Thank you for making these videos, I love to lay and unwind while watching these. Big support for keeping up doing this for years!
No problems buddy glad you like them enough to give a super thanks 👊🏻😁. Have a great week mate.
You know its a good day when BigStackD is uploading. Great video my man. Cant wait to see what youre melting for us next week
Happy Friday everyone, I start my Friday every week with BigstackD, it is my favorite RUclips channel. Cheers Mate
Guiness Book of World Record holder here for sure!
Made my daughter Mackenzie happy. 😊 I wanted to surprise her with this. She didn't know that I mailed these out in her name. Thanks!!!
BigStackD, thanks for the nice wedding anniversary melt today! Huh? Oh, it is my wife and I 44th wedding anniversary! We were married in an outdoor wedding on August 4, 1979! The temperature was 82 degrees Farenheit (27.8 Celsius). In case anyone wonders, we live in the State of Ohio, USA. Obviously, our seasons are the opposite of Australia's seasons. Still wondering what you will do when you hit 1,000 tonnes of your melts. Have a great day and weekend and keep on smelting!
@Rick__B__ Happy anniversary.
I am glad you show us when things don't go to plan, I am not saying I like it when things go wrong for you, but it is nice to know you are not perfect. It give hope to us aspiring melters when we go wrong. 👍👍👍👍👍
And your video never boring me. I alway fascinated watch every videos of your… your awesome Dion and funny guy I ever met.
Your da man.
Smile.
Getting in early. Great job bistackD
I never plan on melting any type of metal but I’ve been watching these videos for years because of how comforting they are ❤
It was neat seeing the old garage again. I remember watching many a video from you while working from there. You've expanded out, and come a long way with things, and all the items you've melted. It's going to be so awesome to see you reach your weight goal finally. Fridays usually suck, but seeing a new video of yours waiting for me to watch makes Friday not so bad. Thank you for all the great content, humor, sarcasm, and the pups!
BigstackD, just remember, especially in your craft, there is no such thing as a failure. Always remember the true meaning of the word fail. It is an acronym.

Hey D, how's it going? Poor Ingot, I feel bad for him. You are finally about to teach your goal set several years ago. That's gotta feel good.
The dog that looked like it's head blew up is actually pretty cool looking.
I hate to know you're going to melt all those forgein coins down. Coins are one of my hobbies. I look for them at yard sales etc...oh well.
I think I'm almost as excited as you are to reach your goal. See you next week. 💙✌️
I spit my water all over my monitor when you scratched out that date on the brisket burnt ends and the subtitle came up! Thanks for all the content.
bigstackd their not fails, their abstract art, perfect imperfections. Love the fact you will still do a video even if you think it’s a failure. Keep up the great work.
Down to the final 10kg! I'm still as happy every week to watch as I was when I first found the channel. Cheers 🍻
Clean copper pouring is mesmerizing.
Aww yes, after first seeing those doggo shaped ice blocks a few years back, I've always hoped you'd do a cast of them one day.
I don't think that first French bulldog cast you showed was a failure. It looks like an aged antique. I really liked it.
Maybe he needs a centrifuge to force the metal all the way into the mold. Frequently used for lost wax casting.
The bulldog fail reminds me of one of the dogs from the infamous dog kennel scene in The Thing.
Not a « Fail », just a « Test » 😂👍
I see the stray bullet casing fall out of the crucible and watch to see if you miss it, but you never do. Good attention to detail. And your doggy timer I see what you did there.
Watching that fan mail is almost better than Christmas morning!
Those aren't fails, they have style. I would buy one.
So relaxing to just kick back and watch one of your videos. My favorites are the large melts I just love seeing the stacks of bars. I appreciate your work 😁🫡
Brisket is never too old to eat. As a guy from the southern US once told me: "The LORD eats brisket!"
For some reason, watching someone melt metal then making ingots, with that being all of the videos, is entertaining,
Just saying hi from America and hopefully both you and your dogs are doing well.
I think the dogos look cool the way they are, I wouldn´t even call it a fail
Great video, i love the copper melts, when you said the dog figure melts were bad i expected much worse than they were. Soon you have kiln mastery and get rid of the moisture issue for good!
Take care, have a great week!
experience is the best teacher. sometimes we are experts until something happens that says otherwise. you Mr.Big are an inspiring teacher. who can say how many pupils you have inspired to melt metal. I am one. Thank you Boss.
wish my freezer made huge ice blocks as quick as yours! haha. the pour when you melt pure copper with no slag is so satisfiying!
What I like about you is that you don't give up. You will just try again untill it works. Melt and pour and again and in the end there will be two great little statues. I am glad I am here to see your learning curve. It's loads of fun.
it's so soothing to watch
You are amazing another great video. You did not fail, you found yet another how not to use PoP. Have a great weekend. See you next week
I love the sound of the furnace going
The distillery pieces in my heart have once again been melted by the beauty of your hot oven.
wooow only 10 kilo left
cant wait to see what you are gona do whit all later
nice fan mails ;)
First. I was already waiting for your upload. Woohoo, I'm excited.
5th
You weren’t first. Not even close. I’d say “sorry”, but I’m not. People who just have to try to be “first” like this are sad, pathetic little humans with no life. Go outside. Touch grass. Kick rocks.
Looks like perfectly good copper fittings
Yes it’s very true and I know this video would’ve upset quite a few people but at the end of the day the guy that purchased it send it to me to add it to the stack so that’s what I do🤔
Yeah, melting scrap is ok, but melting brand new stuff that can be used is wasteful.
Metal is recyclable. That clean copper will get sold and turned right back into something similar. The person who sent it to him, as well as other viewers, might get offended if he used or sold the stuff they sent him to scrap. Have a great day!
Awww... get well soon, Ingot! ❤
I just the the videos!!!!! been watching for about 8years!!! I even shared the video with friends and family!!!!!!
You are within one percent of your goal. Congratulations.
I love your property. The openness in the backyard looks awesome!!! God bless.
Awesome copper bar thanks for sharing bigstackd
Like your videos, no talking just the thing. Also you from down under :) Childhood dream of what you doing ;)
Stay safe and continue with your thing
nice i see keep after it,thank you for sharing😊
Just 10 kg short of the target. Way to go! Looking forward to it...
I always wake up early Friday morning to watch ur vids b4 work puts a smile on my face. Thanks for another one stackd and keep them coming and have an awesome week
high summer in uk, weather: overcast/raining, temperature = 16.1 degC
bleak midwinter in oz, weather: blue skies/sunny, temperature = 18.4 degC
It's so satisfying watching copper freeze.
I love seeing all the rain you've been getting. We've had so many days over 110 F with no end in sight, it's just nice to see it's cool and rainy somewhere in the world!
“Fire Bricks Sticking” would be an awesome band name . .
YES hahah
Normal person 3 am good time to sleep me sees bigstackd new video, watches it and then wakes up in the afternoon .
23:15 Bro, i dont know if you did it on pourpose, but it looks like a post apocalyptic scenario, it should be a wallpaper.. Fantastic!
Great video Dion… awesome 😊
That was one of the cleanest melts i have seen!! Always cracking up over you funnies!!👍😎👻🌶️
Glad you enjoyed it
1.5K+👍's up bigstackD Casting thank you for sharing 😊
yk its a good day when bigstackD uploads, cheers
Finally getting to watch this after a long work week and make some constructive use of my occasional insomnia… it’s about 3:30 am EST 8-5-23 in Detroit and I’m so tired but glad I can watch this no matter what. Been a sub for at least 2 years now and am so looking forward to you meeting your 1 kiloton goal and beyond. As always, much love and support from the 313! 😎🥰
No worries at all.
I’m reading this comment at 6:17 pm Saturday evening 👊🏻😁
Nice work, and your dogs are adorable.
I had the same problem with POP... I got pebbles. You got something .... lol... one of your best videos ever. Must be the weather....
Great video as always. I love how that copper freezes from the edge to the middle in seconds. And a good ice melting segment. Lot of slag dust on that brass melt. Lot of rain down where y'all live. I wish it rained more here in California. Keep it up, brother!
I learned about how all drywall is fire resistant due to the gypsum core being made of calcium sulfate dihydrate. Basically, as it heats up, the trapped water molecules that forms the dihydrate releases as steam, requiring a lot of energy to burn through and penetrate. Plaster of Paris is fundamentally the same material.
Long story short, plaster molds will never work for this application because there will always be water trapped in the molds. No matter how long you dry them, it's bound by chemistry until you burn it, in this case with molten metal. I'd recommend concrete molds for the future.
Love your vids and all you are about! Hope this might help you out a bit
Great work and I love the boys
Molten copper is the most awesome thing ever, in the universe and it's sourroundings...
that bulldog fail has got cordyceps from the last of us
happy friday everyone, hope your day is a great one.
Catching up on some missed videos. Wow, very close to the target. 👍🙂👍
I can promise you that was a whole heck of a lot more than $15US for all those fittings 😅 I know how it all works as I’ve been scrapping brass, aluminum and copper for years now. It’s just crazy. Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos that’s for sure!! Been on this journey for a while now and I honestly have zero clue how I came across but damn glad I did. From the southwest desert of the states enjoy your weekend!!
Copper’s current price per kg is $8.28. A 1.75 kg bar is worth $14.49 at that price, and copper prices were slightly higher at the time this video was published.
Aluminum, brass, bronze, all look great melt and pour but the viscosity of copper....just runs like water! Liquid sunshine. Thx bruv,
such awesome subscribers to send you all this stuff, Thanks for this video, very enjoyable, cheers
Hi there, let me tell You, Your world of metals is really awesome and beautiful! Greetings from Slovakia! Andrej! :)
👊🏻😁
Another thing you might try to make your molds out of is ceramic sculpting clay. You can get it at any ceramic craft stores. It can be thinned with water, can can be poured like plaster of paris. But it will allow for better evaporation of water, as it will not solidify and hold water like plaster of paris will.
Edit: I remember that the type of casting is called lost wax casting. The mold is put into an oven to melt the wax. Then when the wax has melted out, the mold is left in the oven to cook off any leftover wax. The baking removes any excess moisture. Sorry I can't provide you with more info. But a search on line should get the info for you. Good luck on the next pour.
10 MORE KGS!!! 🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳❤️🐶🐶❤️
10 kilos left to 1 tonne! Go for it!
Very cool!
I just love watching copper being melted and poured. It looks like Tang almost.
1:34 bigstackD confirmed 👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌
Beautiful lot brother
Wow...blue skies. Here in Michigan we hardly see blue anymore. A bright reflective hard to look at sky is the usual now. And hardly a person seems to notice. Well, back to the video.
I see Ingot and Bullion and all I think is, "who are the bestest boys!?! 😃" lol
