CORRECTION: I was wrong about the base model 14". The M1 Pro 8 core CPU has 6 performance cores compared to 4 performance cores on the 13" Macbook Pro. And with the media engine, neural engine, and everything else that you get in the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips - the base model 14" is actually amazing value for money.
Most underrated tech RUclipsr. Videos are so calming to watch. Love the aesthetic
Watching this on my 16" M1 Max. Makes me so happy. Upgraded from a 2012 15" retina.
Initial impressions:
- Weight is a non issue, lighter than my old laptop (thicker though)
- Notch is a non issue. Especially for dark mode users.
- Biggest surprise has been the soundstage from the speakers, if you are dead center its pretty amazing.
- Keyboard feels great. More springy and quieter even compared to the new standalone Touch ID computer.
- Battery is amazing (my old one lasted 15 minutes).
- No fan noise as of yet, and significantly less warm when using on lap.

I also have a 2012 15 retina MBP and since Apple finally brought us a worthwhile upgrade I decided to go for the new MBP. I was set on the 14, however, after seeing them in person I thought the 16 isn't so large so decided to compare the overall measurement of the '12 MBP to the '21 MBP and the '12 is actually larger and heavier and why I decided to go with the '16. 2012 MBP: 14.35wx9.82dx.95hx5.6lbs/2021 MBP: 14.01wx9.77dx.66hx4.6lbs.

I miss the long extension cable that used to come with the MacBook charging bricks from pre 2016.
So I got three Macbook Pro 14 in. One for the room, kitchen and veranda. Very happy with these three. Don't know what to do with them but they're awesome.

I think apple added the notch now so people don't go back to this model when future models come out because this is powerful enough to keep for a long time

Curious why you chose the 32gb of ram vs the 64? And do you think it’s worth the upgrade? I want to future proof my computer and also am an engineer major so would think I need the extra graphics.
@6:22 isn't Macbook screens always 16:10? also i believe that the top portion the the screen are not included in the pixel count
I wish they would add folding pins to the uk plug. The plug is the biggest problem when it comes to travelling with these.

@6:40 I love the notch, I mean in this case they made the screen bigger and the notch is where the menu bar is, so I don't see why it bothers people.
I hope you can include benckmark of non-native apps like Adobe Premier Pro, as we all know that native apps lke Final Cut are gonna perform flawlessly. Also, is it just me or does the notch on 16" seems bigger than that on the 14"?

I stoped buying the iPhone Pro as I didn’t need the added things, I bought the new iPad Pro and realised I could have just gotten the air, I didn’t need the added things. Now after seeing a few reviews and unpacking of the MacBook Pro’s I have started wondering if I just don’t need a Pro version if that either.
6:22 MacBooks have been 16:10 all the time, never were 16:9. The new ones are even taller and range in an aspect ratio between 15:10 and 16:10 due to the additional screen space for the notch row.

Actually, you can get the fast charging with the 96W or 140W chargers. Good content man👍.
They said in the keynote that the speaker system is the same between the 14” & 16” models. Really nice video tho.

The trackpad probably looks bigger because the laptop is smaller in comparison. It gives an illusion that its bigger. Its like if u stand beside someone that’s 7 feet tall, it gives u the illusion that you are considerably shorter than u actually are.

I think you might be one of the very few reviewers that have gotten the Space Gray 16" Macbook Pro rather than the Silver one.
I quite literally bought the MacBook Pro 13in M1 2020 this year, is it worth the upgrade? I really quite like the Touch Bar as well, sad they took that away. I feel satisfied with what I have, it was a giant leap from what I was previously losing, but since its still under 2 months new, should I return it for this new one?

these new MacBooks are definitely for a specific niche, now I see why apple is selling these in tandem with the 13 inch MacBook Pro it won't be replaced by the 14 inch

actually the 14” is slightly thinner (1.55cm) than the 13” (1.56cm) but looks thicker because of the new design.

I think most people miss how amazing the design on this actually is. Compared to most other Pro laptops like it in the industry which are thicker and clunkier this is very compact and clean. People get caught up on the notch but I have yet to see a PC laptop with super slim bezel do it better without sacrificing quality of the video camera.
I think the X1 Max weights 100grams more than X1 Pro.

The M1 MacBook Air is a beast and a bargain, especially with the education discount. Here in the states you can get the 256gb model for $899.
I’m planning to get new macs but indecisive of the size. Leaning towards the 14in for the portability but would also like the 16in screen. Also hope the 14in doesn’t thermal throttle 🤞

16in ones always looked dumb. They could of put a bigger keyboard in it instead of the speaker upgrade. They always sounded fine
