You spent the time to argue your point that all you need is storm, funny since if u took the time to learn the game you would know that storm is a must. maybe like 10 years ago but storm has a hard time soloing when it comes to its low hp pool and if u want to fix that then u are missing out on damage. death is a s tier class and the most noob friendly because it allows you to make mistakes. and you point of late game, what do you count as late game, since the early game is the hardest to get out of and all the classes at latter points in the game have a easier time then the start. As far as free crowns go, you should also do the daily assignments. These are worth doing anyways, since you get a guaranteed gold skeleton key on day 15, but you also get 50 (I think, might be more) crowns each 15 days. Not a ton, but if you do the quizzes every day, and you do 6 characters with wizard-city level assignments, its worth it.
Just a side note for the fishing, I found the best gold farm is basically farming for "Flying Saucer fish" at the celestia base camp. Use Winnow rank 3 fish, and either winnow storm fish, or reveal fish school. After you catch them all, reset the fishing hole, and repeat. Do this on a free fishing weekend, and build a stockpile of the most valuable fish in the game (excluding the legendary ones with a low spawn rate) selling for 4k - 6k a catch.
Wow man. Perfectly explained everything and now I can help out my other homies when they catch up to me, we played a decade ago but stopped because we were broke kids, now being adults with some money, we all have the membership and plan on grinding!
I remember playing wizard 101 back when it first started. When I ran out of spells and didn't know how to replenish, I just kept going along the sidewalks dodging every enemy. Until I left completely.
I started to play (haven't in about two months though) when you failed the first no death run. I researched a lot of stuff with death. I got the gloomy eye really early on and got full Olympic gear half way through level 31. However, I'm completing all of the quests in each world before continuing to the next, only on Marley bone atm. This account was from all the the way back in the early days of the game. I have a Selena Gomez statue lol, my original wizard is storm at like level 32 I think but I stopped playing him since it was too difficult to solo
Watched this video after I did an entire playthrough up to halfway through celestia. Didn’t realize how difficult balance was considered, I honestly didn’t have too difficult of a time soloing the entire game aside from a few really difficult boss fights.
Something I'd like to add with regards to crowns are the daily assignments. Daily assignment rewards cycle every 15 days, during which you get 50 crowns, which is 100 crowns a month per wizard. If you are diligent enough and have six wizards, that's 600 FREE CROWNS per month. I spend my crowns on the advanced grub guardian maps so I only have to pay up once, then reap the rewards of the packs that drop. Daily assignments are the first thing I do when I log on to get them out of the way. If I have little to no time to play, I do just the daily assignments and tend to my garden.
Ive played wizard101 off and on for over a decade and my jaw dropped multiple times this video! Amazing dude, ty! (My myth wizard will not be ignoring Monstrology as "not worth it" anymore 😬)
The only take away about life and death is that you don’t get a hit all spell until you hit 48. Unless you get your hands on Rat Spin or leaf storm. Storm, you have low health and accuracy towards the beginning of the game. And Myth has been memed on so much, I barely even touch it now. I heard from another youtuber that myth had been buffed a lot though.
6:08 At this stage, he doesn’t mention it, but Tower Shield from Ice is also a decent pick. Definitely more geared towards PvP if you play it, but it can be useful in PvE too. It’s only a 50% shield, but it blocks damage from every school, no type-matching necessary. It’s also not as costly on training points as Satyr and Feint, and it costs nothing to cast. So you can use it to stop an incoming attack from being lethal, while gaining pips for a Satyr, or something like that. Definitely a sleeper hit.
guys make pets with aoe spell. you can fly through krok so fast. i seee way too many people using single target spells. you should only aoe while questing to speed up the leveling process
fuggin amazing video dude, just sent it to my friend whos new because itll save me hours 🙏 but one thing of note 🤓 for the pets you said 75k-100k. which is true usually, but u should start ur breeding using gargoyles which will only cost you like 7.5k and have a perfect pool.
Ngl for ice you honestly don’t need satyr, I did solo ice and you don’t rly need heals since ur eating hits for days, the resistance is easily able get u through ur battles if u play ur cards right and use feint. the amount of points you use to get satyr just ain’t worth u better off just using fairy if u wanna heal, if u even need to. I’d rather just save ur training points. Besides that nice vid 👍🏽
I remember when I played as a kid an ice character and then just ran around and did mostly battles because I had zero idea how to proceed without paying 😂
I think you should have mentioned the schools that don't get an AoE spell early on. I feel that the tedium of only using single target spells may turn off new players, who don't have the game knowledge necessary to fix the issue using pets or treasure cards.
I remember playing this in its early stages and stopped playing cause the computer wasn't keeping up with the game, looks like alot has changed since then
I know this is a super late comment, but as for Ice getting Satyr first, I’m going to disagree. Feint IMO is Ice’s Damage Dealer; without feint, ice won’t be able to keep up with other schools as far as efficiency goes. Satyr TCs are very common compared to feint TCs; you can find Satyr TC in the bazaar very consistently as well compared to feints, which never seem to be there, which drives up their price, in turn making the investment more expensive as to just training feint right away. But great video! Loved it! Definitely made me a sub. Also, as far as gear upgrades go, farming wihtertusk for the Bear Claw Athames for each school is big as well. Gives damage, health, mana, very good pip chance and light crit block, as well as 4 jewel sockets.
A few more points (from a veteran player, but also adding onto some of the points you addressed) 1 - Tower Shield (Level 16 Ice Spell) is probably one of the best things to grab early game if you're going support or solo (a -50% universal shield). 2 - There are multiple side quests in later worlds that give not just unique spells, but also some extra training points. Most are quite easy to do as well (for example one requires you to acquire some easy to find pet snacks, and you get three training points for this) 3 - In regards to blade / trap stacking, the best advice for understanding the mechanic is to hover over your character / enemies name place in battle (the board near the bottom). You can know if something is stacking if there's multiple versions of the same blade (lets say you've used 2 35% storm blades, one from a pet and the other from main deck). Most of the times these unique blades (item, enchanted, tc or pet) will be a different colour to the regular in this pop up. 4 - TCs stack with each other (so a TC Tower Shield will stack with a regular Tower Shield, a TC Feint will stack with a regular Feint, a TC blade will stack with it's regular counterpart, etc). 5 - The best plant to go for with Gardening is King Parsleys. These are probably the best plant in the game. They give a multiple useful reagents from mature harvests (Diamonds, Black Pearls and critically Sunstone). They give Tower Shield or Feint TCs on mature harvests, but their best part comes from the 8% chance per mature harvest to get another King Parsley seed (they already get a seed on the elder harvest, so getting one in a mature harvest is pretty much doubling your KP gain). Their elder harvest is also pretty solid, with Amber (one of the most important and hardest to get late game reagent) potentially dropping from these. They also can drop Ultra King Parsley seeds from these harvests, which are a better version of King Parsleys, only without the guaranteed seed drop at the end. They're also unlocked very early and are easy to keep happy in terms of needs. 6 - Probably the best early game gear (Adept Gear) is crafted gear (This gear is great until Waterworks / Zigazag / Wintertusk Crafted). It's expensive, but worth it. Some other useful unlocks include Avalon crafted (the hat for this set on fire lasted me until Darkmoor) and the crafted Zufaria Athames (these athames hit well above their level and it's really only until Darkmoor that you get a replacement that's a direct upgrade) 7 - Heartsteel (the Athame mentioned in the gear guide) can also be brought in the Crowns shop. It's actually probably one of the only things in the Crowns shop that is actually worth buying. 8 - The Sky Iron Hasta is actually in my opinion the best wand until about level 115. The Hades Wand in Tartarus or the Darkmoor wands give a lot of crit, but if you want a direct upgrade (excluding Crowns gear), the next upgrade is the level 115 crafted wand. 9 - You forgot to mention Zigazag with level 60 gear (for some schools like Fire, some parts of the Zigazag gear are better than the Waterworks gear) 10 - With pets, keep their needs in mind. For example you can get a pet with 15% universal resist + 30% resist to a specific school (aka 45% resist to one school). Combined that with some gear (Heartsteel's 5% resist, some gear's resist to schools) and you can make yourself immune from specific school's damage. This is perfect for tanks, when you are up against a boss (for example Malistare and his three death minions are going to pretty much universally use Death spells, so having 50% Death resist without gear bonuses will go a long way to staying in the fight). Maycasts also shouldn't be overlooked. Having a pet with multiple healing maycasts can keep you in the fight longer and can allow you to forgo using healing spells (even though these maycasts are RNG based, so it's not perfect). Selfish talents (talents that increase the pet's stats) are mostly great for jewel slots as they can give the pet some improved power (like turning a pet with "perfect" stats into one with beyond perfect stats). You can also get some stats like more healing or armour piercing or some other benefits outside of combat (like more gold from sources or more energy for examples)
I remember playing this shit when i was like 8 years old. I tried it again a few years ago when i was like 17. I literally went death and didnt even pay attention and just draintanked my way through every single fight
perfect pet isn't really a problem, to me at least. my lower level wizards use an enchanted armament, and my pet for high level has like an extra 10 resist. if you play well and smart, you'll get by fine
Havent touched the game since 2011. I think it's high time I pick the game up again, cause I eant to prove to my young self I can get past Rattlebones... man I sucked back then
I would definitely say work on crafting. It's much more useful to start in the early game so you know how it works and because the crafted gear is amazing. You could literally go from level 56 to 100 without farming any dungeons for gear because there are gear crafts for everything major at every new world at levels 56, 66, 74/76, 84/86, 94/96 (74,84,94 are robes). Also iirc the best wands in the game F2P are all craftable wands, so might as well get the crafting quests out of the way while playing through the game, rather than getting to level 130 and realizing you need to do like 10 worlds of crafting quests
I’m getting back into the game after years and even then I only made it till Celestia I think. So I still don’t understand a lot but the game is fun, seems like pets are kind of annoying and I have ZERO clue how to do gardening.
@Alludity it takes like 2.6-3.5 years worth of sub(in dollars) to get all the areas depending on when you buy the Crowns. For most people it's prolly just better to sub.
It's been worth it to me because I've been playing for 11 years, play on-and-off, and do not like to rush. The longer and more inconsistently you play, the more worth it to buy areas with crowns.
My advice: your first character should be storm. The reason why is because farming is the quickest and easiest on this character thanks to tempest & crazy crit and dmg stats. Then once you hit 60 and have waterworks gear go ahead and farm for couch potatoes in grizzlheim. This plant keeps you with gold and mega pet snacks which are vital.
Get the point but disagree. Storm can be REALLY tough to make work as a new player, especially w no pre-bread pet, gear, etc. Think its a fair take just not what I'd lean towards (comes down to taste for the most part)
I am Life and I like the fact that I have cards to heal, however I am seeing that I'm not strong and I want to play alone so according to you I have to wait til lvl 48 to fck it up 😂 so I'm gonna keep playing solo!
tbh just keep playing and have fun, you dont really have to take anything seriously until later levels and by then you'll already have a bunch of cool OP stuff
Any chance of you adding on to the gear outline? Just hit 30 and about to start the mount olympus grind but no clue what to do when that gear falls off later after waterworks
I know you said don’t go “opposite school” but im life. I’m putting my points into death, is that okay? I’ll get satyr naturally and death seems to have the missing dps I need before 48. I also just bought the evergreen bundle. I’m assuming I should claim the gear at the max level and wait to use it since you can’t level up gear and it would be a waste to claim at level 17 😂.
Just use Satyr treasure cards (can be bought from Zafaria librarian when the bazaar has none), only train feint and elemental/spiritual blades and traps. Same goes for tower shield, only use TCs. A smaller deck will also increase survivability and decrease battle length. You might also consider training reshuffle since it's only one training point (you can train it in colossus boulevard). So, Treasure cards are extremely valuable for saving deck space. Saving training points for enchants, potent trap, sharpen blade, frenzy etc. later on is a much better idea than wasting it on spells that are easily gotten as treasure cards.
Just recently picked this game up. Im a level 18 death wizard and i had been spending my training points into fire for an aoe. Though once i get to the point where my gear buffs death damage i think i should refund my points Though idk when death gets an aoe
The fact Death is not considered a hitter is pretty controversial. If you have a team of a life, ice, balace, and death, I can guarantee Death ia going to be designated hitter lol (scarecrow, lulu, deer knight)
Its funny to see that my childhood self picked Death not knowing it was easy mode 😂 A good laugh was had by me and this video was very informative! Not enough to make me want to get back into it, but enough to smile fondly on the past of childlike ignorance
Me watching this after hitting level 30 spent my training points on a secondary school got a million pets with not stats haven't gardened or fished rip

bro i cant believe im finna actually start playing this shit in 2023 coming from back in the fucking DAY MY BROTHER, but i did see they added RAIDS which obviously peaks the interest of players when end game content is added, id love to see the game have a complete revival somehow, i wish Kings would just open up and listen and hear out the players a bit more even tho ive noticed recently in updates they have been trying to communicate more, which is always a step forward, however i dont mind paying membership per usual, however i remember alllll the way back in the day and even when i came back to try it again i think around 2020, it STILL had HARD P2W elements in the game, however id love to hear and know that ALL player power can now be earned in game via challenging content/casual content, i would also love them to double down on the challenge factor and add more and more content that is NOT BEASTMOON, that shit is im sorry, but one of the worst game modes that they keep updating constantly, when the game would benefit so so much more on newer content and more updates, i understand its expensive however im sure they are still making decent profits even in 2023 due to them being bought out by Tencent a while back if i remember, however i havnt kept up to date so maybe that (knowing Tencent as a company) did more worse then good, but id love more videos about Wizard101 in 2023 and how its going and keep people up to date, makes the community grow and expand, take it coming from OSRS community, those guys on youtube PUMP content of a 20 year old game and i swear they are the only reason besides the game itself that game is still kicking hard.
tbf this video seems like its designed for people new to the game. Quint damage pets really get their value from people with the experience to do fights really quickly. While it seems like a small thing, most newer players dont have the gear nor deck building knowledge to be able to get the real value out of the extra damage imo.

guys make pets with aoe spell. you can fly through krok so fast. i seee way too many people using single target spells. you should only aoe while questing to speed up the leveling process
First time playing and I actually used my training points on fire aoe since death dont have a low level one and it’s helped a lot
Should have gotten gloomy eye pet and get it to adult and u have a free blade and aoe
Me who’s been playing this game for over 10 years: oh wow, I can’t wait to learn how to play this game
This video made me buy a membership and redownload the game. Gonna try and solo with life!
Spiral ain't gonna know what hit it 😔 ✊
I’m a life girlie ❤ it’s the best :)
fuggin amazing video dude, just sent it to my friend whos new because itll save me hours 🙏
but one thing of note 🤓 for the pets you said 75k-100k. which is true usually, but u should start ur breeding using gargoyles which will only cost you like 7.5k and have a perfect pool.
Now (may 2023) is a good time to start! The entire first arc is free for the month!
Thought I left that in but I guess not! Whoops!
Your soundtracks you used were driving me crazy! I was like “ these are so familiar wth”
It’s final fantasy 14!!🎉🎉 another super good mmo ❤
“shoutout ice who gets their blade at level 38” it hurts bro…..
A few more points (from a veteran player, but also adding onto some of the points you addressed)
1 - Tower Shield (Level 16 Ice Spell) is probably one of the best things to grab early game if you're going support or solo (a -50% universal shield).
2 - There are multiple side quests in later worlds that give not just unique spells, but also some extra training points. Most are quite easy to do as well (for example one requires you to acquire some easy to find pet snacks, and you get three training points for this)
3 - In regards to blade / trap stacking, the best advice for understanding the mechanic is to hover over your character / enemies name place in battle (the board near the bottom).
Some other useful unlocks include Avalon crafted (the hat for this set on fire lasted me until Darkmoor) and the crafted Zufaria Athames (these athames hit well above their level and it's really only until Darkmoor that you get a replacement that's a direct upgrade)
7 - Heartsteel (the Athame mentioned in the gear guide) can also be brought in the Crowns shop.
9 - You forgot to mention Zigazag with level 60 gear (for some schools like Fire, some parts of the Zigazag gear are better than the Waterworks gear)
10 - With pets, keep their needs in mind. You can also get some stats like more healing or armour piercing or some other benefits outside of combat (like more gold from sources or more energy for examples)
best comment mate
I remember playing this shit when i was like 8 years old. I tried it again a few years ago when i was like 17. I literally went death and didnt even pay attention and just draintanked my way through every single fight
Anybody else like 10+ years into wiz watching this to see if its good?
I ain't gonna lie some of those class rankings are off (specifically ice and fire being overrated)
Honestly just a great guide for new players, Im gonna show this to one of my friends who wants to play
perfect pet isn't really a problem, to me at least. my lower level wizards use an enchanted armament, and my pet for high level has like an extra 10 resist. if you play well and smart, you'll get by fine
You can definitely get 99% of the way there w/o one
@@heyitsmax_ still a good video, though. you did great, man!
Havent touched the game since 2011. I think it's high time I pick the game up again, cause I eant to prove to my young self I can get past Rattlebones... man I sucked back then
I wish pirate got as much love as wizard. I’m playing wiz now because first arc is completely free.
Very well put together video
Thank you!
Really well done guide max, this pretty much covers everything you need to know on surface level for new players
I’m getting back into the game after years and even then I only made it till Celestia I think. So I still don’t understand a lot but the game is fun, seems like pets are kind of annoying and I have ZERO clue how to do gardening.
I main Death
I can confirm we are absolutely broken for solo PvE
10 year player here with 1,000+ hours.. I endorse this. Also I like the last slide lol
I got the 1 year member with 13k crowns for like 70 or 75 insane deal
House of scales gear is also good for some better stats at level 60
im actaully glad a friend and I are playing togther. nohting like a storm balance duo
do NOT buy areas with crowns. I repeat DO NOT buy areas with crowns!
I'll be real I forgot this was even a thing people did
What other ways would i be able to buy areas or is membership be the best way to go?
@Alludity it takes like 2.6-3.5 years worth of sub(in dollars) to get all the areas depending on when you buy the Crowns. For most people it's prolly just better to sub.
It's been worth it to me because I've been playing for 11 years, play on-and-off, and do not like to rush. The longer and more inconsistently you play, the more worth it to buy areas with crowns.
Is this a hub/lobby game where players meet in a lobby-like area before going out into the world with a small group?
The pet hatching kiosk has made making amazing pets a thousand times easier. You no longer need to beg someone for a hatch,
My advice: your first character should be storm.
My first school was balance and its what i solo on mostly
Good vid
Eyyy I was there
I personally just get tower and feint on every school
I am Life and I like the fact that I have cards to heal, however I am seeing that I'm not strong and I want to play alone so according to you I have to wait til lvl 48 to fck it up 😂 so I'm gonna keep playing solo!
6:30 as an ice main ignore satyr. it sucks until avalon
i think all ice should be an ice jade so i would say nah dont do that
Do you happen to have a discord for your community?
I am weird I start off with 3 key limes I brought it from crown shop. It might be worth it if you want a jump start quick.
i soloed the whole game using death , except the belloq quest
W RUclipsr
Nah I love secondary schooling especially with the new mastery pip system or whatever it's called
I’ve been playing on and off since 2011. Just to find out I’ve never gotten past the first arc….
I went Myth and frost works decently for me at lvl 38 so far
Me already started got to level 30 and seeing everything I messed up on :(
tbh just keep playing and have fun, you dont really have to take anything seriously until later levels and by then you'll already have a bunch of cool OP stuff
Me watching this with my balance wizard with a life secondary: 😶
Any chance of you adding on to the gear outline? Just hit 30 and about to start the mount olympus grind but no clue what to do when that gear falls off later after waterworks
I'll tackle it at some point down the line but usually just go from waterworks ---> darkmoor and you should be set til 150
Why train reshuffle when tcs of it are easily accessible and you won't have to worry about clogging up your main hand
God damn i soloed to azteca with my life wiz and i remember hitting 1M damage once 💀💀
Watching this knowing fully well I’ve been played w101 for almost a decade now. Great tips!!
Is this Wizard101 101?
Late game I don’t consider balance for a support
Anyone else still have the Salena stuff?
Though once i get to the point where my gear buffs death damage i think i should refund my points
Though idk when death gets an aoe
The fact Death is not considered a hitter is pretty controversial. If you have a team of a life, ice, balace, and death, I can guarantee Death ia going to be designated hitter lol (scarecrow, lulu, deer knight)
Its funny to see that my childhood self picked Death not knowing it was easy mode 😂
A good laugh was had by me and this video was very informative!
Not enough to make me want to get back into it, but enough to smile fondly on the past of childlike ignorance
For some reason I chose life
I’m learning tower shield over everything
Me watching this after hitting level 30 spent my training points on a secondary school got a million pets with not stats haven't gardened or fished rip

my toxic trait is being a 10+ year wiz vet watching videos like this and repeating "exactlyyyy" to everything you say
I play two schools at once death and storm for damage
bro i cant believe im finna actually start playing this shit in 2023 coming from back in the fucking DAY MY BROTHER, but i did see they added RAIDS which obviously peaks the interest of players when end game content is added, id love to see the game have a complete revival somehow, i wish Kings would just open up and listen and hear out the players a bit more even tho ive noticed recently in updates they have been trying to communicate more, which is always a step forward, however i dont mind paying membership per usual, however i remember alllll the way back in the day and even when i came back to try it again i think around 2020, it STILL had HARD P2W elements in the game, however id love to hear and know that ALL player power can now be earned in game via challenging content/casual content, i would also love them to double down on the challenge factor and add more and more content that is NOT BEASTMOON, that shit is im sorry, but one of the worst game modes that they keep updating constantly, when the game would benefit so so much more on newer content and more updates, i understand its expensive however im sure they are still making decent profits even in 2023 due to them being bought out by Tencent a while back if i remember, however i havnt kept up to date so maybe that (knowing Tencent as a company) did more worse then good, but id love more videos about Wizard101 in 2023 and how its going and keep people up to date, makes the community grow and expand, take it coming from OSRS community, those guys on youtube PUMP content of a 20 year old game and i swear they are the only reason besides the game itself that game is still kicking hard.
wizard101 !!!!!
Is this a good time to return to the game after 4 years of having only gotten to the point where ypu have to pay to play further.
Entire first arc of the game is free right now!
Where can i see tha chart you used to see and compare states of each school
Yooooooooo Wiz guide?!?!?!
I'd very much appreciated if you'd go episode by episode in one massive video. RUclips is full of short videos these days, and want something longer.
quint damage pet is better for damage schools imo
Think its subjective but once you get to lvl 130+ its tough to not get shredded by arc 4 bosses w damage, pierce, etc
tbf this video seems like its designed for people new to the game. Quint damage pets really get their value from people with the experience to do fights really quickly. While it seems like a small thing, most newer players dont have the gear nor deck building knowledge to be able to get the real value out of the extra damage imo.
with your 20 resist right?
