I go shopping at grocery store or the thrift stores...I walk at the mall, sometimes I even sit in parking lots and just read or pray. I keep my door locked and anything I care about locked up in my car. She poisons my food, so I got a cooler and keep it locked in my car. It's sad , but it will get better. She was stealing my medications as well. Narcs are dishonest and they will steal from you, poison you , slander you and isolate you from your mutual friends. You have to make new friends outside of the house/ friend circle to get a support system that the narc doesn't know. The narc won't like it when you start setting boundaries. Be prepared for sudden outbursts of anger as they lose control over you. As much as you would like to confront them, don't do it. They are dangerous people and they will hurt you passive aggressively. Be kind to yourself. Never drop your guard. Trust your gut feelings and get away from then as soon as you can. Use the computers at the library as my narc put a listening /trojan spy virus on my computer. Leave with no contact. Don't tell them you are leaving it is the most dangerous time. I will pray for you.
My style is oversized sweaters and tights and I wore that to my friends house, she shows up to school wearing an oversized sweater and tights, I think “no big deal she probably didn’t notice” THE NEXT DAY I’m obsessed with a celeb and she goes, “ I love this celeb” to everyone and then she copies my usernames online and even my restaurant orders.😤
I had a friend just like yours, turns out she had a personality disorder. We have to be conscious of mental health when choosing friends. Series of copying isn't admiration its jealousy..
I got an esthetic procedure done, it took me a few months and lots of effort to save up for it. One day, I made the mistake to upload a picture in which a part of the bandages I had to use showed. As soon as she saw the story, she replied right away: did you get a surgery done? And I said yeah. The same day she booked the goddamn surgery for herself. The worst part is that she had trashed a girl that had that surgery a few months back but she forgot all of that when she saw I got it. I felt bad because it was something that I worked so hard to get and it was my moment to shine but she couldn’t stand it and had to get the same thing done despite having said she’d never do it. I have been supportive to her during the process but from time to time I get a little mad.

Next, I told her I answer questions on Quora for fun and I get decent views, next day she opens up a Quora account and starts saying people are asking her questions. She never continued ever again lol. I get piercings, and all of a sudden she says she wants to get them. She bought a fake nose ring and earing saying I'm going to get real ones soon. She was vegetarian so I used to tell her how I like kidney meat. Next month, that is all she eats I swear. I told her I liked this guy that lived in our building the next day she is painting a scenario of how they would date. She also told me that someone once called her a copycat. I like dating tall guys, so I told her I found them to be attractive to me. Her bf was not tall. She even said she doesn't like tall men cause they have egos. Then a few months, she is saying how she will only date tall men like me. She got obsessed with tall men to the point where she started to vocalize it daily. I got super secretive around her. It didn't work in the beginning as I noticed she would force me to give my opinion on different things and then when she's on the phone with her friends, she would give my opinions as if it were hers. lol. how lame. I would never tell her anything untilIi did it and I realize she started getting pissed that she ant keep up "copying me". haha .Anyway, She tried to sabotage me one day and I just blocked her. Bad bad energy.
I have experienced this about 3 times with different girls over the years. I get close to them and then they copy everything from what I say, wear and do and before I know it they are taking over my friendship groups. It honestly baffles and distresses me and I don't know how to stop it and have always wondered what I'm doing to attract these types of people who essentially must have a poor sense of self. I really liked the concept of this video as it's a new take on the issue, most people just say you should be flattered but let's face it, it's super annoying!! My so called friend copies everything since from college days😒 even my life style!! I bought a new car so she did even though she doesn’t travel much; I bought a dog she too bought it even though she never in college days showed any interest in dogs.. shifted to new house she too!! Bought any accessories or clothes she too in same design and colour!! She even try to talks like me!! It’s so frustrating that I don’t share any good thing with her!! Worst of all on my birthday I just had an unintentional haircut and so I straightened my hair.. people were appreciating me and my friend she was constantly bragging that she will permanently straighten her hair and trying to steal my thunder!! I know this is old but I've had this done to me a lot recently to the point I had to Google because it's not normal. I think deep down people who do this are deeply troubled and want to steal your personality. Recently, a creator that is seemingly successful started replicating old posts I made on IG (going back YEARS) When I found out, I felt I couldn't do anything. Yes, I could block them and/or call them out, but then they could use their influence to cancel me!! So, I went the childish way. I started using fake locations for a while and this creator always ends up there but obviously can't copy my content (because it's not there) Sometimes you can't get away from your copycat but you can choose how you can react, and you can have a good laugh at their expense

OMG! I have someone like this in my life right now & it's sssooooo annoying!!!! (It's a long comment! Sorry About that! I had to VENT!!! LoL!!!) I can't say anything without her internalizing it & making it her own story, too!!!! Once, I was talking about babysitting my niece's and nephew's & one of them was acting up. I don't spank them, but, I have them take a time out & stand or sit in a certain spot until they cooled off! I told my nephew: If you are still acting up I am going to take your birthday away!!!! Everyone around me began laughing because they thought it was funny! My nephew, 8 years old, was afraid to lose his birthday. He thought I could really take away his birthday!!! He finally calmed down & was OK! So, about 20 minutes after I shared this story, I will call her DOT❗️ Dot began her check in by telling a story about her son when he was a little boy!!! She said something about him acting up how she would tease him by telling him she's going to take his birthday away from him & the entire group began laughing!! I go to these groups at the local clinic daily & when I don't feel well, I stay home. My so called "best friend" from this clinic is always, always, always copycatting me & it irks me! Every single time I do something, she does it, too!!!! I do enjoy her friendship. Most of the time!!! But, I hate how she's always copycatting me. One of the employees from the clinic told me this exact message: SHE is in competition with you (me) & always wants to/ has to ONE UP ME!!!! Not just me, but, everyone at the clinic, too!!! Before we hung out more, she was her own person. She had her own look & style. Then, the very first thing she did was copycat my haircut! At first, she was just getting a trim. I began talking to her & everyone else there about getting my bangs more enhanced & defined & she told me that she just needed a trim to cut off her split ends!!! However, when she was in the TV room, that's where the 3 people were set up who were there to cut our hair, she asked them to give her bangs & layer her hair to appear more fuller!!! She was 3 people ahead of me! It worked out that she was nearing the end of her haircut when it was my turn!!! She walked out of the TV room into the day room as I sat down & everyone was telling her how cute she looked with bangs!!!! 😳😳😳🫢🫢🫢🫢🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? She walked over to me after all that attention & said: Everybody LOVES ME NEW BANGS!!! I've never had them before! Well, not since I was a little girl!!!! I was so upset with her!!! She knew it made me feel upset because I couldn't hold back my shock & irritability !!! "I really like it!" She told me! And, she walked out of the TV room beaming with victory & arrogant pride!!!! I told her a long time ago that my favorite piece of jewelry were bracelets! Charm bracelets. And, certain gemstones! My ultimate favorite gemstone is the tigers eye! Her favorite animal is a 🐈 cat. One animal that is spiritually important to me is the dragonfly!!! So, I was gone from the clinic for about 3 weeks at one point in time. When I returned, she was wearing a cat necklace with tigers eye !!! She has absolutely no idea what any of those stones mean. She isn't spiritual. She doesn't understand energy. So, why does she have tigers eye, rose Quartz, & turquoise??? Because she knows that I love certain stones! And now, she is ordering beads for bracelets & a variety of charms every single week!!! She's constantly showing off her bracelets to everyone!!! And, she wears about 10 different charm bracelets on each arm every single day!!!! That's a little too much for me! I wear mine to enhance my outfit, or, one or 2 at a time. It's like she's trying to show me that she has money! She has things that she knows I love. And, because I don't show up to group with a huge box of beads like she does daily, she feels like she's got something on me!!! How she wears all her charm bracelets daily, they lose that specialness & beauty!!! None of them match!!!! She gets them all tangled up when she wears them. I don't know what to do about her??? I can't share anything with her. When I do, it becomes her story, too, at group. It's a lie coming from her. But, it's so annoying!!! Last month. Within 2 weeks I lost 9 people from my family & community. I was at the clinic. We do a quick check in before each group. And, she checked in before me. She sat there looking soooo sad. She acted like she couldn't speak because she was so distraught. "She's my best friend. She is going through a lot right now & it makes me sad for her." Dot began to say. She was looking at me when she said that. she made herself frown. As she blinked her eyes quickly many times over trying to squeeze out some tears! "I know how she feels because I just lost my ex. Husband. He was my very best friend & now he's gone." She continued on. She's been talking about his death for 10 months now. She has a new husband that she married in the 90's!!!! So, she's been divorced from her ex. Since before her 2nd marriage. Her first husband lived with them, tho. And, she was always telling me that he's annoying & she can't wait for him to leave! She carried on. "I know how you feel now." She told me. And, she was now crying. Putting on a show for everyone. People stood by her. Babied her. Coddled her. And, she was pretending to dry heave! After a little while , she was done. But, before she was done checking in, she broke down crying once more & told everyone that she really misses her cat. Her cat died 10 years ago of natural causes!!!! A few days later after that particular group & check in, Dot's granddaughter's friend ended up in the hospital from a fentanyl overdose. Dot never met her granddaughter's friend before. But, in group she told everyone that her granddaughter's best friend was in the hospital unconscious. And, the best friend considered Dot to be her NaNa. Three of my first cousins all passed away from fentanyl overdoses. They all passed in different places & at separate times. All within 5 days of one another. Dot, she seemed.....,. Not happy. But, she was finally able to say she lost someone to an overdose of fentanyl, too. "Now, I really do know exactly how you feel." She told me. And, she talked about how the best friend called her NaNa ......... when, she told me she actually never met her before. The best friend grew up in the same area as Dot's granddaughter when they were in middle school. She couldn't wait to tell me & everyone about the granddaughter's best friend overdosing because she knew everyone would baby her/ coddle her & pity her. " I know you lost 3 of your relatives. I know how you feel now. I do. I really do. The best friend used to always call me her NaNa. And, she died from the exact same thing as your cousin's." @LilyBah_ She’s (Dot) sounds like a completely empty shell. I think you have a subconscious inclination to LEAVE HER. These types of ‘people’ don’t have a real self to begin with and, they only get worse with time. She’s enjoying the stress that she’s causing and, feels entitled to everything about you. Sometimes they get so angry/ desperate they try to take out the original. No more than a cheap copy and, paste.

I haven't gone to group in a few months now & when I went back to group recently to see my counselor she appeared different. She doesn't look like me anymore!!! I told my counselor: I had to stay away for a while because I needed HER TO become her own self without copying everything that I do!!!! She was so used to me being there every single day and had access to everything about me. Now, she's linked up to another person at group. They're extremely close & I'm extremely happy that she's not obsessed with me! Every single time I stopped by at group for my once a month check in with my counselor she's always telling me that so & so is always fighting with them! So, she's always on the defense against certain people at group & that's their focus! When I was at group, I used to try & help her out through the drama. Now, it's all her focus. I keep praying for her & her new best friend! But, I know that they don't understand anything REAL about me. Self Love. Self healing. Energy. True love & forgiveness. I know this is quite old but this is has helped me so much. I will obviously not get into it in the comments but I have been struggling with this immensely especially coming from a sibling. It has created a lot of dissociation and left me quite lost on what to do. Thank you. My mother has always been alone so I spent alot of time lifting her up and trying to fill the whole in her life. I do whatever I can for her and shes been a very big part of my life. However my sister is the copy cat in discussion and she doesn't understand the deeper reasons for doing what i do, she just sees it as competition. It has become so terrible i cant even have a conversation with my mom without her trying to break it off or interrupt. This has made me reflect on loving from a distance however i'm not sure if this is the right conclusion. I am afraid that when she gets bored of being my mothers support she will drop it all and do something else. This is what scares me. If you have any insight on my approach i would appreciate it.

💯 Story of my life--been dealing with this my entire life --especially from my family of origin. It causes them to get violent and recently, the lengths they went to in order to destroy me while simultaneously blatantly copying every single thing about me (not giving credit to me) and my spouse was so startlingly blatant I am now forced to permanently cut contact. I made a new friend and i felt sorry for her because she didnt have very many other friends and she was so sweet. I am a jewelry artist among other arts that i create. She came over my house and helped me putting together a few pieces of jewelry that i was donating for a fundraiser but suddenly she started buying supplies that we used the day she helped me...since then she bought more and more of the things i use so now i am cutting her off...no more visits to my home are going to happen. I have been searching for a video to explain to me why this woman who interjected herself into my life, is copying every aspect of my life . You cannot stop anyone from copying you. You can however choose to either associate with him or not. It’s up to you. You can also talk to him and see why he keeps copying. Of course, he is inspired by you. But you should also keep an eye out on what his true intentions may be. Is he a hater as well? Most haters can be our biggest fans. That is something you will have to figure out

You have to make new friends outside of the house/ friend circle to get a support system that the narc doesn't know. The narc won't like it when you start setting boundaries. Be prepared for sudden outbursts of anger as they lose control over you. As much as you would like to confront them, don't do it. They are dangerous people and they will hurt you passive aggressively. Be kind to yourself. Never drop your guard. Trust your gut feelings and get away from then as soon as you can. Use the computers at the library as my narc put a listening /trojan spy virus on my computer. Leave with no contact. Don't tell them you are leaving it is the most dangerous time. I got an esthetic procedure done, it took me a few months and lots of effort to save up for it. One day, I made the mistake to upload a picture in which a part of the bandages I had to use showed. As soon as she saw the story, she replied right away: did you get a surgery done? And I said yeah. The same day she booked the goddamn surgery for herself. The worst part is that she had trashed a girl that had that surgery a few months back but she forgot all of that when she saw I got it. I felt bad because it was something that I worked so hard to get and it was my moment to shine but she couldn’t stand it and had to get the same thing done despite having said she’d never do it. I have been supportive to her during the process but from time to time I get a little mad.

Then a few months, she is saying how she will only date tall men like me. She got obsessed with tall men to the point where she started to vocalize it daily.

I get close to them and then they copy everything from what I say, wear and do and before I know it they are taking over my friendship groups. I began talking to her & everyone else there about getting my bangs more enhanced & defined & she told me that she just needed a trim to cut off her split ends!!!
However, when she was in the TV room, that's where the 3 people were set up who were there to cut our hair, she asked them to give her bangs & layer her hair to appear more fuller!!! She was 3 people ahead of me! It worked out that she was nearing the end of her haircut when it was my turn!!!
She walked out of the TV room into the day room as I sat down & everyone was telling her how cute she looked with bangs!!!! 😳😳😳🫢🫢🫢🫢🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? She walked over to me after all that attention & said: Everybody LOVES ME NEW BANGS!!! I've never had them before! Well, not since I was a little girl!!!!

I told her a long time ago that my favorite piece of jewelry were bracelets! Charm bracelets. And, certain gemstones! My ultimate favorite gemstone is the tigers eye! Her favorite animal is a 🐈 cat. One animal that is spiritually important to me is the dragonfly!!!
So, I was gone from the clinic for about 3 weeks at one point in time. When I returned, she was wearing a cat necklace with tigers eye !!! She has absolutely no idea what any of those stones mean. She isn't spiritual. She doesn't understand energy. So, why does she have tigers eye, rose Quartz, & turquoise???
Because she knows that I love certain stones! And now, she is ordering beads for bracelets & a variety of charms every single week!!! She's constantly showing off her bracelets to everyone!!! And, she wears about 10 different charm bracelets on each arm every single day!!!! That's a little too much for me! I wear mine to enhance my outfit, or, one or 2 at a time.
It's like she's trying to show me that she has money! She has things that she knows I love. And, because I don't show up to group with a huge box of beads like she does daily, she feels like she's got something on me!!!
How she wears all her charm bracelets daily, they lose that specialness & beauty!!! None of them match!!!! She gets them all tangled up when she wears them.
I don't know what to do about her???

Last month.
Within 2 weeks I lost 9 people from my family & community.
I was at the clinic.
We do a quick check in before each group.
And, she checked in before me.
She sat there looking soooo sad. She acted like she couldn't speak because she was so distraught. "She's my best friend. She is going through a lot right now & it makes me sad for her." Dot began to say. She was looking at me when she said that. she made herself frown. As she blinked her eyes quickly many times over trying to squeeze out some tears! "I know how she feels because I just lost my ex. Husband. He was my very best friend & now he's gone." She continued on. She's been talking about his death for 10 months now. She has a new husband that she married in the 90's!!!! So, she's been divorced from her ex. Since before her 2nd marriage. Her first husband lived with them, tho. And, she was always telling me that he's annoying & she can't wait for him to leave!
She carried on. "I know how you feel now." She told me. And, she was now crying. Putting on a show for everyone. People stood by her. Babied her. Coddled her. And, she was pretending to dry heave!
After a little while , she was done. But, before she was done checking in, she broke down crying once more & told everyone that she really misses her cat. Her cat died 10 years ago of natural causes!!!!
A few days later after that particular group & check in, Dot's granddaughter's friend ended up in the hospital from a fentanyl overdose. Dot never met her granddaughter's friend before. But, in group she told everyone that her granddaughter's best friend was in the hospital unconscious. And, the best friend considered Dot to be her NaNa.
Three of my first cousins all passed away from fentanyl overdoses. They all passed in different places & at separate times. All within 5 days of one another.
Dot, she seemed.....,. Not happy. But, she was finally able to say she lost someone to an overdose of fentanyl, too. "Now, I really do know exactly how you feel." She told me. And, she talked about how the best friend called her NaNa ......... when, she told me she actually never met her before. The best friend grew up in the same area as Dot's granddaughter when they were in middle school.
She couldn't wait to tell me & everyone about the granddaughter's best friend overdosing because she knew everyone would baby her/ coddle her & pity her.
" I know you lost 3 of your relatives. I know how you feel now. I do. I really do. The best friend used to always call me her NaNa. And, she died from the exact same thing as your cousin's."
Then, I would hear her in the clinic talking to others: I really do know how she feels now because I recently lost someone to a fentanyl overdose, too.

These types of ‘people’ don’t have a real self to begin with and, they only get worse with time. She’s enjoying the stress that she’s causing and, feels entitled to everything about you. I haven't gone to group in a few months now & when I went back to group recently to see my counselor she appeared different. She doesn't look like me anymore!!!
I told my counselor: I had to stay away for a while because I needed HER TO become her own self without copying everything that I do!!!!
She was so used to me being there every single day and had access to everything about me. Now, she's linked up to another person at group. They're extremely close & I'm extremely happy that she's not obsessed with me!
Every single time I stopped by at group for my once a month check in with my counselor she's always telling me that so & so is always fighting with them! So, she's always on the defense against certain people at group & that's their focus!
When I was at group, I used to try & help her out through the drama. Now, it's all her focus. I keep praying for her & her new best friend! But, I know that they don't understand anything REAL about me.

I know this is quite old but this is has helped me so much. I will obviously not get into it in the comments but I have been struggling with this immensely especially coming from a sibling. It has created a lot of dissociation and left me quite lost on what to do. Thank you. My mother has always been alone so I spent alot of time lifting her up and trying to fill the whole in her life. I do whatever I can for her and shes been a very big part of my life. However my sister is the copy cat in discussion and she doesn't understand the deeper reasons for doing what i do, she just sees it as competition. It has become so terrible i cant even have a conversation with my mom without her trying to break it off or interrupt. This has made me reflect on loving from a distance however i'm not sure if this is the right conclusion. I am afraid that when she gets bored of being my mothers support she will drop it all and do something else. This is what scares me. If you have any insight on my approach i would appreciate it.

You cannot stop anyone from copying you. You can however choose to either associate with him or not. It’s up to you.
You can also talk to him and see why he keeps copying. Of course, he is inspired by you. But you should also keep an eye out on what his true intentions may be. Is he a hater as well? Most haters can be our biggest fans. That is something you will have to figure out
