Decades later I now watch Johnny every late again on YT. Interesting how it came around again. These interviews are amazing. Jodie Foster is intelligent and accomplished - far better than most adults on talk shows these days. Thanks for posting these.
Absolutely. I love to watch The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (along with a list of other excellent thrillers) around Halloween. Jodie is one of the best actors, ever.
I like how he tried to comfort Jodie and explained to her when she said most boys dont like her, it’s like a father trying to comfort his daughter about teenage matters 😁

she's very intelligent and scarily a bit direct for a kid ... and not intimidated by people/adults - for sure. Very proud of herself and let's you know it. Confident in her intelligence and talent. And compared to how we hear 15 yr olds speak - she has an amazing command of the language and can converse with the best of 'em! She is still exactly the same as an adult. I would have loved her to have had an IQ test at this age.
Jodie and I are the same age and, growing up, I had an enormous crush on her. I loved her in Napoleon and Samantha, Tom Sawyer, and Candleshoe. I did not see her more serious roles until much later. Of course, i had no idea she was batting for the other team.
She is an amazing talented beautiful human. Jodie crossed the barrier from child actor to adult roles so wonderfully. Her mother really guided her very carefully.
No way really? I also liked Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in this little hidden gem he did called Pirates of the Carribean. An absolute cinematic masterpiece!
She is just extremely bright and pleasant and centered here. I sometimes think rather then evolve some people have lives where they peak early or middle or later into the best version of themselves and can change again quite severely sometimes. Not saying this is true about Jodie Foster but she certainly seems very peaceful and assured here as a superior version of any person really.
Jodi NEVER said that! Why would you purposely LIE about that??? Seriously! It's not funny in the least bit and it's a complete LIE! I don't know if she does now but she absolutely did NOT that! That's disgusting to tell a blatant lie!
I have never seen any of the movies they spoke of but for Candleshoe, it was really good as I recall. My favorite film she did was, Contact... brilliant! I really like the one where her young son & her were hiding in their house when robbers broke in, it had Forrest Tucker in it. 👍👍

Right? I don’t understand why they’re allowed to post the full episode, but not any of the clips guests brought to go with their interviews. The whole episode, clips/trailers and all, should be already cleared, long ago. Yet, I never see any clips in any videos of episodes of old or currently running TV shows like this. I don’t get it.

Jodie is just over 15 years old in this interview and she is amazingly mature and confident for someone her age...
Seems like Kids were much more 'adult' by 16-18 during those times.

The Accused and Silence of the Lambs were amazing performances.

I have been in love with Jodie Foster my whole life.
There's still no talk talk show host anywhere near as good as Johnny Carson was.
Craig Fergeson was comparable but different. But otherwise... agreed.
Johnny had such a relaxed and natural style of interviewing. When he liked or enjoyed a person, as he does with Jodie here, you could tell it.

She played FBI agent Clarice Starling in "Silence Of The Lambs". An absolutely chilling movie!
