Thank you for a great video. Love the colours you chose for the granny a day blanket. The grey border really makes the colours pop! Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
Just subscribed ❤Glad I did bcuz I have been wanting to make a temperature blanket, but didn't quite understand how to start. I just got back into crocheting last year in honor of my Best Friend/Sister of over 30 years. She could & would crochet Anything ❤I was Always fascinated by crochet bcuz my mother would create some of the most beautiful blankets, doilies, scarves, purses, bags for anything & the list is ENDLESS ❤ So when my friend passed away in March I became determined to learn how to crochet & have fallen obsessively in Love with it.😅 I have made a few pouches for my tablet using a rectangular Granny Square, a ton of Granny Squares (first thing I ever accomplished in crocheting), working on my first blanket, swiffer mop/sweeper covers, cup & bottle cozies & don't plan on stopping any time soon ❤As for the type of yarn I feel that is a matter of preference ❤My mom is/has been trying to get me to crochet clothes, but I am not sure I wanna just yet.I have been thinking about Arigurami(spelling maybe off) for a while, so I may give it try soon ❤ Great informative video! Can't wait to check out some of your tutorials too❤Thank You for sharing your time with us ❤
Definitely made a note of the dimensions for what you’ll be doing for 2025. I have so many other things to work on, but eventually I want to make a temperature blanket for the year we got married, and for the actual wedding day use a rainbow variegated yarn ❤️ Also, I’m not sure if you already do this or not, but I just saw how when you were moving the current blanket around some of the stitches came out. What’s been a life saver for me is pulling up the loop of the working yarn a little bit and putting a locking stitch marker through that loop. That way if it gets pulled when you’re moving it around when not working on it the stitches won’t come out. I sympathize with the huge blanket woes because my first ever big project was doing a big granny square blanket as well, and my husband helped me design it. It’s going to be a total of 300 4.5” squares that will be joined together. As of now I’ve only made like 160 of them. It’ll be like 4.5’x9.5’ before joining anything or adding a border. So yeah…that’s going to be insane lol. Can’t wait to see yours finished and how the new one will work up!
Hi nick from Ireland wow what a fabulous blanket the size .!!the colours are so nice.ive crocheted for over 50 years love granny squares in fact I'm addicted to them.ive watched you since you started out amazing work.thank you for sharing.i crochet for charity mostly granny square blankets.💙💙
I guess I've been doing it right all along 😊(started teaching myself in 1975 before I turned 10)....in the PNW....ALL our blankeys are for the colder weather ❤......great tutorial btw!
This past summer I started a temperature snake when my grandson turned 10. Every week we get together to go over the week’s temperature, with him recording the temp and color in a notebook. I then crochet a ring a day to correspond to the day’s temp. (We’re still working on his learning to crochet. 😉) It’s been great fun discussing the changing temps, and for me, more manageable than a whole temp blanket. 🐍🦋
I totally agree granny squares are the way to start with. You drop stitches at first edges are hard to keep straight, Love your squares. ❤ I dearly love granny squares. Great idea using chat gpt. I need to check that out. I love Big Twist yarn.❤ Whoa huge blanket I love it. It’s gorgeous. ❤ your edges are straight. I’m obsessed. Merry Christmas. Love your videos. ❤🤶🤶🎅🏼🌲☃️☃️🧑🏻🎄⛄️🎄❄️👍👍 Your right you get obsessed with crochet. It’s addictive but very calming. It relaxes me.❤❤
Great video, Nick! So fun seeing the temp blanket coming together, after watching it in pieces all year. As I was watching and listening to your plans for your 2025 blanket, a fun thought popped into my mind. What if you share your exact yarn color choices and temp ranges with your followers, and a bunch of us follow you specifications, but for our locations. Then at the end of the year, we all compare blankets to see the variations in colors. I think it would be so interesting to see your NY temp blanket compared to say, Australia, with the colors inverted. It would also be interesting to see how many of your followers would jump on board the challenge!
I’ve been crocheting for close to 30 years, but I watched your entire video and found it very informative. I have previously made a temperature blanket and I’m currently making one for 2024. I like the idea of doing one granny square for each month. I would probably pick a slightly thinner yarn like Caron simply soft or even a size 3 yarn. I am excited to see the final reveal of your 2024 blanket.
Thank you so much I have been trying to find the temperatures for my birth year and was not having any luck. Thanks for showing the website and where to go to find the info. Was able to find info❤❤❤❤
Hi Nick! Oh my, I'm so grateful for you. You did such an amazing job explaining everything that I needed to know to start my temperature 🌡 blanket. To me, since I have a lot going on in my life, I would procrastinate into looking up the information on how to make this blanket and waaalllaaa you come to us with this excellent video. With all the details that you provided us with, I have no doubts now😂!!! Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU'RE AMAZING🧶🩷🦋🩷!!!
I chose to use moss stitch for my blanket. It will be about the size of a twin bed when it's finished. This is my first time doing a temperature blanket and I am considering doing one for 25.
I started watching you at the beginning of your crochet journey, and I'm so amazed you have come so far! I made a temp blanket 2 years ago, i finished it, but i didnt like it. Once i saw you start your granny square temp blanket , and i thought " that is so cool!" You've inspired me to do one for my 2025 banket! I'm going to use the same yarn you used, i love your colors, the colors i had used for mine i ended up not liking it. Thanks for all the info, it is very helpful🥰
Hi! Very informative! I did a row by row couple years ago stopped 8 months in it was way to big! Yours is so pretty! Thinking of doing the square a day with u this year but use the average temp first then the low then the high then the border, can’t wait!
I agree about learning to crochet with a granny square.. That's how I started about 60 years ago and I can crochet more but granny is still my favorite. I enjoy your videos 56:20
I know how to make the granny squares, but I’ve never heard of the weather one. And as big as your blanket is, I’d never get through one it would take me forever and ever and ever, but yours are looking really good and can’t wait for the final reveal. I will keep following you though kiss there are some things I don’t know yet and I’m sure that you’ve got them listed to her. I can forgot how to do them. Hope that made sense. Hugs, Lynne.
Hi Nick, another great video! Like you, I am making a monthly granny square for each month, and yup, it’s pretty darn big! But I love it. I have also made individual granny squares for each day incorporating the low and high temp for each day. Also made a special square for each month’s full moon, which has turned out pretty cool. For 2025 I considered a row blanket, but they turn out huge even if only using single crochets. So I have opted for a square a day and thinking I will go for the average temp for each day, with the last row being the same colour on each square. Want to use the full moon idea again so I have purchased a sparkly silver to reflect “by the light of the silvery moon”🤣 I love your 2024 blanket, I think the colours look great and unique! Well done! Thank you for this video and I hope it inspires folks to make a 2025 blanket. I think temperature blankets are so much fun, even the daily routine of charting the temps in my journal diary.🧶🥰
I am doing a temperature blanket with granny squares, January to December of this year. With high and low temperatures 366 temperature square 2 B&W squares 12 month blocks. Color code blocks and title blocks
I love this! A temperature blanket has been on my want to make list for years. You have a lot of very helpful tips. Thank you! You should check out TL Yarn Craft. She has been making temperature blankets for several years. I love her linen square temperature blanket. This year's blanket is awesome! I can't believe you want to give it away. I love it!
Your video was so helpful. I want to make two historical blankets. For my first year and my daughters. But wondering if you documented the temps somehow? I was thinking to document it in a journal or something to go with it. For my daughter I could include her firsts too. Also thinking of doing mini granny squares for each day. Would that still make a decent size blanket?
I want to do this! I was thinking about 1 square per week. Do you find that the yarn brands you purchased were soft? I've made some smaller blankets that turned out scratchy even though the yarn felt soft on the skein.
I was so excited to make a temperature blanket for my daughter. It was a kit. I showed it to her and she said no! Then she texted me a little later and told me she loved all the colors chosen for the blanket. So, I bought all the colors. She wants it knitted and I thought striped. I haven't made it yet but I will after Christmas crafting. You said your blanket will be big. I disagree! It's going to be humongous or bigger! Why didn't you make smaller squares.? I must say that for newbies this video is excellent. I also must tell you that I never knit or crochet without thinking of you. You shared the bubble mat with numbers...... one of the best tools I ever bought!!! Oh yes, your blanket is most definitely not hideous! How would a square look to represent high low by holding two thinner colors together?!!! I'm confused. So for the'25 blanket the days will go in a row? Then when days are within the same color slot, you will have many colors the same color in a row? Not sure if I would like that, just me....! Whatever you do, it will be awesome. I just have difficulties picturing things. When you take a picture of blanket 2024, you will need a field to lay it down!!! I'm giving this a thumbs up!
I would make fairly small squares, so maybe a smaller blanket in the end.. for the larger blankets, I would make maybe 2 .. 1 for the first 6 months and 1 for the last 6 months.. some people sew them together.. You sound like you got it covered anyway..
Thank you for a great video. Love the colours you chose for the granny a day blanket. The grey border really makes the colours pop! Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
I've been crocheting for 14 years and have never even considered doing a temperature blanket. I think you've changed my mind! Thank you!!!
OMG 🙀🙀🙀 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Your temperature blanket is spectacular!
Your blanket is glorious!!
Great video. Very good explanation on how to plan and start a temperature blanket.

I really want to try this for my birthday year in Brooklyn, NY. I live in Miami now and it’s just hot, rain and hurricanes 😊

Wonderful job at describing how to go about doing a temperature blanket.
I chose to use moss stitch for my blanket. It will be about the size of a twin bed when it's finished. This is my first time doing a temperature blanket and I am considering doing one for 25.
I ordered and received my yarn . I am going to do this! Temperature Blanket 2025 Granny Square edition.

I am doing this project next year, doing a solid granny square.

I live in Florida and our temps in the summer are pretty the same daily. I’ll have to figure out something.
I would love to make a temperature blanket but my crazy ass would be in June playing catch up for January! 😂
Question, are you planning to keep all the daily squares in order. Will you lay them out right to left or top to bottom?
Hi there!
did you know that you are amazing perfect man ❤❤
I am doing a temperature blanket with granny squares, January to December of this year. With high and low temperatures 366 temperature square 2 B&W squares 12 month blocks. Color code blocks and title blocks
After watching this is was thinking of doing a C2C. Or flower motif a day

I love your videos. May I make a suggestion? You are showing the wrong side of the grannies. Thank you keep up the good videos
I flip my granny squares every round. So there’s no right or wrong side! But thanks for watching.
