I’m Australian and so look forward to your vlogs every week. My son is very unwell and in hospital.and I have been struggling but you and your calm nature make me feel more positive. Sending you much love for Christmas, and I thank you very much for helping me. Your mum is so very proud of you, as I am. ❤
So sorry to hear you have been struggling Karen. Our children are so precious and constantly in our hearts and thoughts. Keep going and take respite where you can, I also find the time spent watching dear Jude such a delight with laughter and poignancy.
I hope your son is better soon. From Australia too - my mum is in hospital too and she won’t be coming home - she will have to go to a nursing home - when I’m down I watch Jude’s videos. They just make me smile. I hope you and your family find some joy and love this Christmas.
I love everything about this video, Jude. New crafts, old Christmas decorations, Christmas lights, a bit of gardening, a cosy fire, a cat and some knitting. What's not to love? Perfect! 😊
I am actually 59 year old nurse who retired last year after 40 years. Im an anti social being who fell in love with rural Scotland years ago.. I so love your outlook on life and the discovery of what you are capable of. I wish you a great Christmas and can't wait to see the vlogs you do next year..❤
i dont think its being anti socail I did same job working with elderly and now I want to see and interact with the general populus as much as possible my head was fried
Don't think there's anything wrong with being anti social nothing annoys me more than someone talking silly . I think Im anti social too but I'm happy and I'd love to live in the wilds of Scotland
At no point in my comment was i saying that anyone, including Jude, who chooses to live in a rural part of a country is antisocial. I said that I was. There's nothing wrong even if someone is. It's quite difficult to put across sentiment or feelings in a comment. I love that Jude is allowing us to see how he gains new skills for the house and the garden. He does have neighbours and has already been out socially with them. I love his outlook and how he is progressing on the cottage. ❤ I hope everyone has a good Christmas and new year. 🎉❤😊
I always manage to miss any programmes I want so I haven’t had a tv for a few years. Friends, you tube (yours of course) Netflix, books. I don’t miss actual tv one bit.
The mince tarts look so delish! I really love the star with the orange slice in the center. I tried an Xmas tree in the past, but the kitties made short work of it. Also I don't have alot of space. So I happened across an A frame plant stand and built it. It houses my ceramic tree collection. I refer to it as my alternative tree 😊. Money Christmas. 👍🎅😽🇨🇦
When you talked about your parents decorations it made me sad because mine are gone too. I know the holidays can be tough so if you get sad, know there are so many of us sending you and Sven love.❤️
Okay, I discovered you last night during a bout of poor-health-induced insomnia, binge-watched your magical channel until dawn, subscribed, and now I want to be your old-lady auntie from the states. I'm totally hooked!
Hi Jude, you really need to be commended. You have struck a chord with so many people - young, old, male, female, everything in between. And the beautiful thing is that you are doing it by just being yourself, it’s not contrived. I’m not a huge watcher of You Tube, I subscribe to a few crafting channels only, but when I compare your stats to the stats of my other You Tubers, many of whom are extremely popular, I can see your stats are astonishing. I look forward to your videos and thank you for bringing us into your life. I feel like I have adopted you as a brother 😍.
Oh I hope you never change the way you go about your life you are such a gentle soul and we need more like you , but you are truly unique I've watched others start out RUclips channels and some way down the line they have become to big and what will be gifted to them next is more important than their subscribers so pleased Jude don't ever change we love you the way you are ,best wishes and a merry Christmas ❤
I met another of my neighbours the other week - and he said the owner before the one I bought the cottage from, kept about 40 turkeys in that shed 😂😂 (he also had donkeys and ducks apparently!)
@@rewildingjude Holy smokes! And donkeys and ducks? An animation of you and the ghosts of animals past feels like a next step. And of course a short book on the uses of cable ties. Bravo on your hard work!
@rewildingjude …donkeys, eh. They are cute but not much yarn from them. But an alpaca or three would fit right in. 😉😜 Happy Christmas to you & Sven. That blep is precious! 😍
The wreath is beautiful and I was so happy to see you washing the bird feeders, many people don’t realise how necessary this is to prevent disease xx your videos are so Hygge 💚
Shed a little tear here thinking of the dozens of mince pies my Grandmother and I would make each year. She needs me to tell you that homemade mincemeat is the key. Find a recipe with apple in it and you’ll never look back. There’s no way around grief, just through it. Sending hugs.

Hi,Jude, your mince pies looked so good in the pan! I bet they still tasted good even in their sorry state! Kidding! Your wreath looks beautiful and it’s hard to believe it is your first attempt at making one. You touched my heart watching you look at your Mom’s Santa. I am loving your channel. Can’t wait for next week. 🎄
Your willow star is beautiful and I loved the lights on your house and your parent's decorations. What a wonderful addition to my RUclips subscription list your channel has been. It is really lovely and I am so in awe of the way you live your life and your videos (and story-telling) are magical.
Dear Jude, thank you for your video, I love your honesty and your courage. The wreath, and star are wonderful. You brighten up my day, especially thinking about the state of the world today. I laughed and cried this morning ! first : your attempt at making mince pies, it has happened to me too. Second: watching you unwrap the treasured Christmas ornaments which belonged to your parents. I am experiencing hidden treasures too.I moved into my house five years ago.!Just like you I have been experiencing a sense of loss. Went through a separation. I had to sell my house, and move to a small town to be able to afford another home. I also lost both of my brothers tragically! My parents are now gone. On the bright side ! Just this week, I discovered gifts both of my brothers gave me. One is home made and the other is an item which must have taken a long time to find . Through this journey I am able to come to terms with my loss. I am extremely grateful to have had such a wonderful family. Sending big hugs Jude.
I luv the star made of willow!!! The orange completes it beautifully!!! I’d love to create one now but unfortunately am clueless in how to go about it! 🙁 And your wreath is perfect👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've been waiting all week for this video! At 65, I've embarked on a similar quest. Doing a shed conversion on my own land. It's my final 'senior project'. 😂 You give me much encouragement & at the same time, peace of mind. Thank you so much!! ❤
That Father Christmas makes me cry every year - it gets wound up once, because even a questionable rendition of Jingle Bells is enough to make me miss my mum!
I love your personality and vibe, just like my son! 🌈You are so brave, adventurous and resilient after having lost your parents and buying your own homestead to do up! This must be a difficult time of year for you. My heart goes out to you Jude ❤️ I’m an introvert, an artist and crafter, love nature and animals. I like my solitude but still see my close friends once a month. My crafting is my therapy. Your videos are calming and comforting 🌈🌈
Jude, your christmas wreath is beautiful & I love all the things from your mom & dad incorporated in your home. I have lost both my parents as well, during holidays & special occasions it can be tough, I miss them terribly as I'm sure you do as well. I'm happy you have your new kitty to keep you upbeat & not alone this holiday season. Wishing you many blessings now & for the new year. I so enjoy your vlogs & your sense of humour🥰🥰🎄🎄⛄⛄❤❤🙏🙏
Oh your wreath is simply perfect. I love the coziness of your cottage. I love your life Jude and am so happy for you! Thank you for sharing it with us!!! 💜💜💜
Your making the mince pies made me feel melancholy for you; I could just hear your mum chiding you about your making them and the two of you laughing together. And then you put out your parents decorations, and you're knitting and I lost it and cried loads. I'm having my own melancholy season this year, so perhaps I was just primed and needing a good cry. How neat your willow work is! It will be something for you to do during the winter when it's too chilly to go out, but you'll have something useful in the spring to use!
Wreathe is wonderful. Next year I recommend sitting all the ivy etc collected in a bucket of water overnight between cutting and wreathing. The extra drink tends to keep the wreathe looking happier for longer. Love the videos
I know that all I did was move to a new apt, but watching this series has helped to keep me inspired to unpack the next box, or set up a pretty shelf. I'm fully inspired to make this place home.
There is no such thing as too many fairy lights so I think you got just the right length. (I was watching thinking "I bet he's putting them up with cable ties" and was not disappointed) Wishing you the cosiest of Yuletides however you celebrate and thank you for sharing your beautiful cosy life.
Your wreath came out very beautiful. And your pie doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it tastes good. Your home looks very warm and comforting your beautiful fireplace and your beautiful heart is inspiring take care and merry Christmas to you

I haven't had a TV since 2012. I was forced to re-evaluate my budget and cut some things out. It felt like a terrible sacrifice at the time, because I was so accustomed to watching it my whole life. But now I wouldn't get cable or a TV if someone paid me to do it. I encourage anyone reading this to give it a try. You won't miss it after a little while, and you'll be doing other things with your time. Jude, I love seeing all your creative projects. You're so talented and resourceful. Even with the kitchen fails - that's how we get better at things, by trying them out. I really like your fingerless gloves and stocking, which I assume you made yourself. And the wreath turned out perfect. Well, now I'm good and inspired for another week! See you then. 🌲
I’m an Aussie , 64, and still have a tv but don’t watch it. My son is very unwell and in hospital and I’ve found myself putting the tv on just for some sound as the house is too quiet without him and upsets me even more, so I put on the children’s channel as it always sounds happy. But I haven’t watched the news or ridiculous real life shows for ten years. I have my iPad and choose what I want to sees
@@karenglenn6707 I live alone, I definitely put things on my laptop to keep me company too. Old movies, documentaries, or anything really. I watch a decent amount of youtube. I'm very sorry to hear about your son and hope he's going to be ok.
I haven’t had a TV for 10 years now, and have no intention of ever getting one again. I love my iPad and the internet though. Why have a tv and expensive cable? Especially for a single person.
Love how your life in rural Scotland is coming together. I envy your energy and willingness to give it a go. Dreams are becoming reality. Be ever blessed.
I love your beautiful cottage in Scotland. Your videos are so calming. I also have a ceramic Christmas tree that belonged to Mum. I recently lost my Sister to suicide and I am heartbroken so This Christmas will be a sad one for me. You are so blessed to live in such a beautiful countryside. Love from Canada.
Hi Jude I am new to your channel. I used to live in a rural village in Derbyshire. Beautiful part of the country. Your videos make me miss that rural life. However being older now we had to think practically about doctors, hospitals etc and felt we had to move closer to those things. Great you are living this life now ❤
I swear, every time you go up a ladder, I hold my breath. "If he falls, I couldn't tell 999 where he is. I don't know when he fell? If you fell during filming on a Monday and the film goes out Sund....... phew! He must be OK, he's posted the film!" See! Anxiety! Lovely wreath. Enjoy your week.
I'm impressed that Sven has 7 whole brain cells! My cat manages on 2, and I'm pretty sure he shares them with some of the other cats in the neighborhood. Happy to see you're both adjusting well to each other's company 💜
Jude , you are amazing! What a gorgeous wreath, you make me want to make one, for the first time ever.....perfect for Winter Solstice and Yule. What Are you kitting there by the fire?? Is it a hat? You are shockingly hardworking and productive on the land , buildings, and inside the cottage !!!! THANK YOU for inspiring me to live a more soulful life. THANK YOU for sharing your dreams, efforts, and joy with us all !!! It is so palpable, the joy. I am sooooo Glad you found your way back to Life IS worth living, even with grief being present, too. We love you.

Aw Jude that made me a bit tearful. You are doing your best and everything you do shows a give it a go attitude. Sven is gorgeous and a lovely heartbeat in the cottage. Keep going and shine your light brightly Jude. 🐈
At 61, Jude, I envy you. You were so brave to make the leap into the unknown. You will be so happy there, in such a place, how can you fail to be anything but happy?
Well done with your crafting this week. Such a lovely cottage in the Scottish countryside (my dream). All thats missing is a big black Labrador to keep you company and guard the property. I’m sure your cat (once over the initial shock) will benefit from the company as well. Thanks for a lovely video x
What sheer delight You Are, Jude! Beautiful wreath & star, along with the other decorations you created. I so enjoyed your humor & homemaking skills. Simply Splendid - Thank You! 😘🫂
14:46 For your willow plantings, make sure you choose the naturally wettest area that is NOT near any of your water/well or sewer/septic lines. They need lots of water and the roots will gravitate toward those areas. ❤ I was lucky enough to have a willow near my house with a pond/ditch nearby, so the roots didn’t invade my house.
Hola Jude. I think the comments say it all. You calm us all in our hectic lives. We remembered your Mum with you, so your certainly not alone. Love the wreath & other decs. Merry Xmas, love & hugs ♥️🌲♥️🌲♥️
Seeing your old Christmas decorations brought a nostalgic tear to my eye 😢 and seeing you sat in front of a real fire knitting …. now that’s what I call cosy😊xx
Your ability to laugh at yourself is one of your endearing qualities. If we could all laugh at ourselves when things don't go to plan, maybe life would be less stressful. You did a great job with the lights and the wreath .. and the star! Thank you, Jude, for being you. Have a very Happy Christmas with Sven.
I’m in Brisbane Australia and I’m so impressed that you as a young person have taken on a project to inspire others young or older. I’m a single woman (a childless cat lady and proud of it thanks to that American expression during their election 😹) and I’ve taken on the home my parents and I lived in. (By the way my father was born in Dundee and died at 102 y/o)…he left me the house after my Mum passed and it has been an absolute labour of love to maintain and put my own ideas into the home whilst still honouring the hard work and effort both my parents put into it. I cannot put into words the gratitude I feel not having to pay a mortgage but also the endless joy the house gives me knowing that everything I do is worth any effort I put in. I sit back at night and feel a sense of achievement and that brings so much joy it is immeasurable that I’m carrying on my parent’s legacy. Home is definitely where the heart is…Having the right attitude and mindset you can achieve whatever you want…I wish you well Jude with all your endeavours because with time and patience you will get there…PS ..it always pays to remember nothing in nature is perfect.
I would love to have a craft day with you! The oranges were beautiful and the star so pretty. We could bake cookies and pies! I can cook and bake but that’s about it!! I love your channel. Happy holidays! 🎄☃️🛷 Added: Don’t forget a stocking for Sven!

I hope everyone has a good Christmas and new year. 🎉❤😊
I haven't had television in ten years, and it has allowed me to maintain my sanity. That, books, and RUclips!
Broken gutters...oh, the joys of home ownership!
Christmas memories. None better.
Your crafting skills are really admirable!
May i share i havent watched tv radio or newspapers for 12 to 13 years.
Your videos are so enchanting. I feel so uplifted and at peace watching them. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
Thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoy them!
“It’s so bad it’s good !” We get it! And we all have those special objects- well said Jude
What a beautiful world you are creating
When you talked about your parents decorations it made me sad because mine are gone too. I know the holidays can be tough so if you get sad, know there are so many of us sending you and Sven love.❤️
Sending you all the hugs! It’s a difficult time of year, that’s for sure!
Jude's Mum and Dad will be so proud of him, their son is a fine young man.
Oh sweetheart, you are doing an amazing job with your love, passion, and courageous spirit. I wish I was your neighbor.
Thank you! 💗
Okay, I discovered you last night during a bout of poor-health-induced insomnia, binge-watched your magical channel until dawn, subscribed, and now I want to be your old-lady auntie from the states. I'm totally hooked!
Welcome to this lovely community Jayne!
Welcome. He’s just such an easy channel to watch. So enjoyable.😊. Everyone is really friendly here too I find. Enjoy.😊 Hope you feel better soon.
And I am known as Aunt Deb already by many beloved folks.🌻
Well done RUclips serving up such a wholesome channel when you needed it. ❤
Welcome Jayne, get well soon! Xx
Wow! The wreath is so lovely. Natural and so much nicer than a ready made one. Back to nature. I love it
Hi Jude, you really need to be commended.
I love the simplicity, don't ever change 😊
💯%🤩😍🥰
Oh I hope you never change the way you go about your life you are such a gentle soul and we need more like you , but you are truly unique I've watched others start out RUclips channels and some way down the line they have become to big and what will be gifted to them next is more important than their subscribers so pleased Jude don't ever change we love you the way you are ,best wishes and a merry Christmas ❤
Sunday's are less boring with you Jude 😊 i love going along on your adventure with you xx
He is lovely.
I so agree. Good cup of coffee, knitting and watching this. 😊
I had a tear in my eye for you Jude, thinking about all the happy Christmas memories you have with your parents
😊❤
@@maggiemay4388that Father Christmas and its terrible rendition of Jingle Bells makes me cry every year!
"The ghosts of forty turkeys" oh, my you are hilarious and charming. Keep going on your lovely place. We're rooting for you.
Spray your beautiful wreath with water each day and it will last a long time. Love your decorations.
what a gift you are...bringing a little peace to a crazy world..thank you
I don't have a TV either...Good riddance satellite dish! The cottage looks beautiful all lit up. Merry Christmas Jude xxx
Only 12 mins posted and over 1,000 views ! I just love your videos as whatever goes wrong you face it with a smile and a funny comment! Your vids are relaxing to watch and the music is calming …. You should be so proud of everything you have achieved at the cottage ! ❤
Your cottage is looking so Christmassy and the wreath is beautiful. It pleases me to know that you have friends nearby as well 😊
I’m so pleased with the wreath! I need to spritz it with some water to keep it alive.
I have the best neighbours - so many lovely people in my area! 💗
I think your wreath is lovely, as is your charming cottage!
Old Christmas decorations are the best! They bring back so many good memories.
I'm in my seventies and have a few baubles which are older than me. I love them.❤
@MarionN-w3d Same here. We've added the ornaments our children made when they were preschool age.
Decorating with Christmas lights, crafts, ceramic tree, a wreath made of foraged greenery and knitting by the fire. This channel is my happy place. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Your sense of humor brightens up my day every time
He’s so dry witted! I love it and laughing is so healing
Your wreath is beautiful! And you have all of those lovely things just outside your back door! I pay dearly for fresh holly clippings where I live.
You are creating such a wonderful life for yourself. Very inspiring! Thank you for everything you are sharing with us. 💜
Jude I’m 61 and I have to say you have been possibly the most inspirational person I’ve ever seen …. After all that you have been through you turn up every day and live life … your mum and dad I’m sure are so proud ….. what an amazing job they’ve done of brining you up …… sending love at Christmas xx
Jude reminds me so much of Victoria Wood in the way lines are delivered with a smile and a downward glance, anyone agree?
I mean, I’m taking that as a serious compliment!
There is something wonderfully therapeutic watching you go about you days Jude. 🎄
🥰🎄
@@rewildingjudebest channel on RUclips ❤🎉
Your sense of humor is so fun! Thank you.
The wreath turned out beautifully and Sven is just gorgeous. He will be so happy in his forever home with you. ❤
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos!
Very nice. Cheery, Cozy. I'm glad you can cherish the memories of your mom and dad with the tree and Father Christmas. See you next weekend.
And your wreath is perfect👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am sure they still taste amazing! I mean you are going to eat them anyway... The wreath and oranges and star are perfect.
Oh they were delicious! 😂😂😂
I've been waiting all week for this video! At 65, I've embarked on a similar quest. Doing a shed conversion on my own land. It's my final 'senior project'. 😂 You give me much encouragement & at the same time, peace of mind. Thank you so much!! ❤
Watching you with the Father Christmas you could almost see the memories in your eyes. Brought a lump to my throat. And then it was Sven alert haha
My heart goes out to you Jude ❤️
I’m an introvert, an artist and crafter, love nature and animals.
The "florist wire and a dream" turned out beautiful!!! The holiday cottage is looking cozy!!! See you next weekend ❣️
It’s his home, not a holiday cottage.
@dereknash3638 lol! Of course. My comment isn't literal. Happy holidays!
Oh Jude ur doing excellent! Love watching your vlog. It’s simply beautiful where u live. Your a lucky man 👌 xx
I am so lucky to live here! I still can’t believe it most of the time!
Wreathe is wonderful. Next year I recommend sitting all the ivy etc collected in a bucket of water overnight between cutting and wreathing. The extra drink tends to keep the wreathe looking happier for longer. Love the videos
Oh that’s a great tip! Thank you!!
I know that all I did was move to a new apt, but watching this series has helped to keep me inspired to unpack the next box, or set up a pretty shelf. I'm fully inspired to make this place home.
That’s amazing!! You can do it!! 💗💗
Decorating, baking, crafting and gazing at Santa probably bring memories to all of us. Thanks.
There is no such thing as too many fairy lights so I think you got just the right length. (I was watching thinking "I bet he's putting them up with cable ties" and was not disappointed)
Wishing you the cosiest of Yuletides however you celebrate and thank you for sharing your beautiful cosy life.
Your wreath came out very beautiful. And your pie doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it tastes good. Your home looks very warm and comforting your beautiful fireplace and your beautiful heart is inspiring take care and merry Christmas to you
Well done to you on making such a lovely wreath un baking the mince meat tarts amazing iam sure mam and dad will be watching over you god bless .jan xx
It’s lovely to see you with Sven. He’s really settled in. And you can’t say…” not my cat” now 😹😹 xx
I’d not be without my two rescue cats (brothers). Seeing your little man respond to you says how lovely a character you are. Happy Christmas my lovely xx
Jude, I ❤❤❤❤❤ your door decoration!!!!! wow. Lovely greetings to you & Sven!!!!
Jude I absolutely love your decor colours. Your house is so homely. Bye till next week. ❤❤
You are quite amazing in crafts and house work. Loved how you made the wreath from your garden. The star is 😍. Do share the significance of hanging dried oranges on the window. Have a happy Christmas 🎉
I am a big reader and audiobook / podcast listener - I can’t concentrate on tv shows - my mind wanders and I get fidgety!
Love how your life in rural Scotland is coming together. I envy your energy and willingness to give it a go. Dreams are becoming reality. Be ever blessed.
Sven is a simple guy - sleep, pets, play and so much love to give. He is perfect. Also so is that gorgeous wreath!
If you fell during filming on a Monday and the film goes out Sund....... phew! He must be OK, he's posted the film!"
See! Anxiety!
Lovely wreath. Enjoy your week.
I'm impressed that Sven has 7 whole brain cells! My cat manages on 2, and I'm pretty sure he shares them with some of the other cats in the neighborhood. Happy to see you're both adjusting well to each other's company 💜
My favourite part was seeing you take an armful of festive foliage to the cottage, gave me the Christmas feels. ❤
Your wreath turned out beautifully! And who needs to measure and count, in my book you can never have enough twinkly lights. 🎄✨️
PS, so glad to see you knitting a bit ❤
Aw Jude that made me a bit tearful. You are doing your best and everything you do shows a give it a go attitude. Sven is gorgeous and a lovely heartbeat in the cottage. Keep going and shine your light brightly Jude. 🐈
At 61, Jude, I envy you. You were so brave to make the leap into the unknown. You will be so happy there, in such a place, how can you fail to be anything but happy?
Never sell yourself short. You are talented and hard working. Love your Sunday videos.
Your cottage looks so cozy, your crafting went really well. I am sure the mince pies tasted delicious too.❤
They were delicious!! Not a single one was wasted! 🥰
Ah, a cat and a real fire - your home is coming together so nicely. Loved the willow star.
Fantastic homemade crafts!! Can’t wait to see the baskets!! Need one for the 7 brain cell kitty lol ❤️❤️ from Alabama!!!
Seeing your old Christmas decorations brought a nostalgic tear to my eye 😢 and seeing you sat in front of a real fire knitting …. now that’s what I call cosy😊xx
Yep, getting out the old decorations can be emotional, Christmas is a mixed blessing … Thanks for another great video Jude. Take care xx
Aw Sven is one lucky cat, thanks Jude for giving him a great home. You are a kind young man
I would love to have a craft day with you! The oranges were beautiful and the star so pretty. We could bake cookies and pies! I can cook and bake but that’s about it!! I love your channel. Happy holidays! 🎄☃️🛷
Added: Don’t forget a stocking for Sven!
You crack me up with your baking skills🤣😂. The wreath is great looking, and taking it from the land is cool ( pruning in the process) you could probably make them next year for sale.
Jude I am a 60 year old gay man from Texas. I’m a new subscriber. Let me just say your vlogs bring me great joy and comfort. I love your attitude towards life and learning. You get out and try. Do your best and it will always work out how it should. Thank you again. Merry Christmas and I’ll see you on the next one. 😊
Your videos are so calming and lovely. Long as the mince pies tasted good ,that's what matters.. I love to watch a young man like yourself living the life you are away from the rat race and putting everything to good use...loved your mum's Santa ,you could see the love and memories it bought you when you were looking at it..cosy ,lovely home
Love the wreath. Your home is so cozy.
