DIY: Glass Bottle Cutter | How to Cut Glass Bottles

- In this video, I made a simple, yet effective glass bottle cutter.
All you need is:
✓A piece of wood (wooden chopping board?)
✓Plastic pipe
✓Glass cutter
✓A piece of steel (I used a piece from drawer runners)
✓Steel ruler
✓"L" shape bracket
✓Neodymium magnets
✓Furniture sliders or a piece of felt
✓Epoxy glue
Make sure that the bracket/slider does not move on scoring the bottle. If it will move, you will fail to score a straight line.
That's why I used strong magnets and a piece of steel under the ruler.
If you get a lot of glass shavings from scoring the bottle, that means you are pressing the bottle too much or the cutter needs to be adjusted.

So, the 2 white pipes are at different position so as to put pressure on the bottle?
Yes, it's because of the pressure.
PS. You can make both pipes much longer. I don't know why I made them that short.

I did it myself. I used Woodglut woodworking plans for this.
I found very clear plans for something like that I found on Stodoys website.
Stodoys plans help with such details.

Silly, the hand glass cutter is not going to be easy to score a clean straight line around a bottle with now is it? This is just a simple jig for guiding a bottle. The sort of thing in fact a handy man builds for all sorts of special jobs, and this one is not bad little design at all.
