      Lee was defiantly the vanguard of this world cup win, McGrath was in my opinion, was nothing more than a hand maiden throughout his career, to the likes of Warne and lee!!

      @@sacredclown4179 McGrath suffocated runs on one end, so the batsman would be forced to play more shots to pick the run rate up against Lee and so Lee would get alot of wickets.

    Long and fast runup, coupled with extreme pace..I miss those days of cricket. Nobody at present bowls like Lee. Not even close

    Brett Lee played 2 world cups 2003 and 2011 and in both the tournament he was highest wicket taker for Australia.
    2007 world cup he was ruled out due to injury.

      Brett Lee bowled Five 160 deliveries in WC 2003 ... 160.4, 160.6, 160.7 against England in one over 160.0 in another over... He bowled marvan attapatu in semi final 2003 with the delivery of 160.1 .... In 2005 against newzeland in test match he bowled 160 and 161 ... Again on same tour in one day match he bowled 160 and 161.1 .... He is the only bowler who bowled 160 and above 9 times ... Shoaib bowled only once which is world record 161.3 whereas Shaun Tait bowled three time against Pakistan 160.7 against England 161.1 and 160.4 ... Apart from Jeff Thompson delivered a bowl on 160.4

    Wow. What a world cup it was. One of the greats of cricket were playing in that world cup. Brett Lee, McGrath, Shane Bond, Akhtar, Waqar, Waseem, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Ponting. Alot more. I was 4 years during that time. But I still watch highlights to see the GOATs of cricket

    Bowling 140-150+mph consistently with good length is not an easy task to keep by any bowlers through out their whole career.. Brett Lee was simply, brilliant. A Living legend of the game.🤘

    Now days 145kmph is rare 🤣 and gets applauded by commentators / crowd.

    Brett Lee was at his peak in 2003 World Cup. He continued to perform impressively in subsequent years but the later glories were pale in comparison with his reign during the year 2003.

    People talk about akhtar,lee was playing regular and more consistent with his pace akhtar played 1 test series after this he need 5 test series for rest ,he thinks one record of world’s fastest ball is enough in international cricket and attitude he got like waqar younis whereas lee was energetic on the field but off the field funny ,descent and most lovable person in all world and his action the best ever in world cricket till date

    Fast bowlers tend to loose their line and pace when it comes to a hatrick ball, but Lee here bowled an unplayable 97 mph yorker right on to the stumps. Unreal!!!

      Shoaib was extremely fast, but talk about consistent 150KMPH+ speed and nobody matches Lee.

      @@arslaanpasha3334 I agree, however, Lee did the same for around 6-7 years as compared to Shoaib's 2-3 years. Shoaib's injuries didn't help him much.

    This was where Brett Lee really came of age as an international cricketer. Always had potential and pace, but like many young fast bowlers, he was a bit erratic.
    In this World Cup, he was lethal. He went on to be a very consistent bowler for Australia in all forms of cricket, and had an excellent career.
