In 1975, she went to a club where Redd Foxx was in St Louis performing because a co-worker friend of hers didn't believe that she really knew Redd Foxx. When she got to the club she gave one of the employees a note to give to Redd Foxx and he said something to the effect of "Ruth Brown, bring her back here right now!". My family owned an auto body repair shop. One morning we came in and there was a Cadillac limo parked in our lot, the driver sleeping in the back. We woke him up and he told us a local cab driver had sent him to us for some repairs on his car. He had a minor accident while he was driving Della Reece's entourage behind the ambulance she was in while being rushed to a local hospital for emergency brain surgery. Ms. Reece was brought here because one of the world's greatest brain surgeons worked at a hospital here. Ms. Reece had actually collapsed onstage while taping "The Tonight Show." After her surgery she went on to have some of the greatest success of her life.

That was a beautiful, truthful take on what really happened. I saw Redd Foxx from a very young age, at the Regal Theater in Chicago. He was always direct, precise and hilarious in his humor. That feeling of someone telling you what to do when you know they don't have a clue is universal, working while Black in this world. And Della Reese made her point w/"Touched By An Angel," because you could tell she ran her space while there. God rest their souls, and thanks for telling the whole truth.
His disrespect treatment shows how we’re viewed. No matter how big you are or popular or proven in that instance, you’re still Black in this white guys world.
Making people respect you isn’t how it works. And just because people are silent, doesn’t make them haters. Red Foxx’s legacy will be remembered for years to come, and his humor is what made him memorable, not just his death.

Facts.
R.I.P. "Pioneer of laugh and hilarity" Mr. Redd Foxx. Forever missed
RED FOXX legend 👑💕❤️he deserved his flowers back then and should keep getting 💐from future generations 💯🕊️
Chicago Red aka Red Foxx didn't need Hollywood to validate him. Thirty two years since he passed time goes by quickly.
Grew up on the show❤🙏🏽
That's why I respect people like Eddie Murphy
Red is an absolute legend.
Has always been one of my favorites.
Sanford and son will always be great.
St. Louis LEGEND 🫶🏾
I finally watched sanford and son a year ago, and oh my fu**kin god, man what a show!!!!!! The funniest episode was when lamont, his pops and the puerto rican dude, went to the restaurant, and fred made lamont mad and he walked out, and while he drank his drink (garbage) , he said to the waiter, "hey negro come here", i damn near choked on my water when i heard that 😂😂😂😂, RIP ReddFoxx
He was amazing as a comedian and actor. I remember seeing Sanford and Son for the first time when I was like 12 or 13 (I'm about to be 26 in a few weeks) and loved it from the jump. It became one of my comfort shows. Every time I see him on the screen it brings a smile to my face 🤧❤️
I watch his show every night before bed. Rest in peace Red Foxx.😪❤️❤️
I encourage you not to dwell on the things your enemies did to you because it opens doors to unforgiveness, bitterness and evil thoughts. Praying for them and letting go is the best way to handle it.
eddie murphy created the show but it seems like eddie murphy had NO involvement in making sure Mr. Redd Foxx was treated with the respect he deserved. So the assumption is eddie murphy was the creator but had NO control. Wow
Same thing with the Coming to America TV show that had Tommy Davidson in it.
@@hustleman85 are you saying that Tommy Davidson experience the same disrespect. Wow. This makes me think of an interview eddie murphy did. I forgot the host but in the interview eddie was talking about how Mr. Redd Foxx was part of a sitcom he created but past away and the host response was, congratulations. I also remember Richard Pryor stating that he didn't like eddie.😮
That's what I'm over here thinking like how you create a show but the White's over there treating Redd like shit ? And Yes, they said Richard Pryor barely spoke to Eddie on the set of Harlem nights.
@@bresams2917 Grow up!
Eddie Murphy gave Redd Fox the show to blood sacrifice him
Man, I loved sanford and sons. Used to sit and watch it with my grandpa. He loved red. So much he named his last dog sanford.
R.I.P. REDD FOXX🌹🌹🌹
Top 5 comedian all time I watch Sanford n son till this day August 2023
Thank you so very much Mr. Redd Foxx for sharing your talents with us and your hard work in show business.
Yes and the same for Della Reese and Jackee! I watched their shows. Excellent talent.
He rose from doing raunchy 'party' records to being a genuine and loved comedian with a distinct character. No one else I can think of ever made that journey.
He was a legend one of the best love this guy I loved his TV show movie roles he is great that's all we can say r.i.p. boss you are missed big time Mr Fox.....,........
He chose his integrity over hollywood .
Kudos to Redd and may his Beautiful Soul Rest in Peace 🙏
Because he's still being talked about makes him still one of The G.O.A.T.S
That was a beautiful, truthful take on what really happened. I saw Redd Foxx from a very young age, at the Regal Theater in Chicago. He was always direct, precise and hilarious in his humor. That feeling of someone telling you what to do when you know they don't have a clue is universal, working while Black in this world. And Della Reese made her point w/"Touched By An Angel," because you could tell she ran her space while there. God rest their souls, and thanks for telling the whole truth.
Unfortunately…they will *post your Job before they post your Obituary* 😢
💯
Sanford and son one of my favorite shows.
People respect him👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️🖤💚it probably was the ones that tried to take advantage of him that didn't respect him but he still gets a lot of love by many🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚
This video should have been called, "Red Foxx final day"...I remember when he died, my family use to watch "The Royal Family"
R.I.P. Legendary Redd Foxx One of The Best Comedians of All Time & a Legend And R.I.P. Legendary Redd Foxx Deserves More Respect When He Was Alive Long Time Ago That's Sad That People Don't Show No Respect Towards R.I.P. Legendary Redd Foxx
He was a legend to his fans and will never be forgotten. Unlike the producers who are not even known and don't deserve to be. RIP Red Fox. He is sorely missed.
Hollywood killed Redd Foxx by stressing him out.
Sanford and son was one of the shows. I used to watch All The Time. He was so funny on that show. I'm coming, Elizabeth, it's the big one this time.
Redd Foxx was funny AF he is one of the all time great comedians of any generation. Even Richard Pryor, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy said he was the most naturally funny person they ever encountered.
