hi seth! brewer of the deck here! i really enjoyed watching you play it! i am asking myself why not everybody plays it - it's so much fun! so thanks for giving it a little more attention. since your first video on modern white devotion i am in love with white devotion stuff and have created many versions of it over the years. in my current version i updated the sideboard a bit and in main deck i now have emerias call for a borderpost to have another nykthos outlet which is fun and on the other hand i play the old kozilek as a fun surprise that also shuts down the ruin crab mill decks - they became kind of leyline immune. merry christmas! thanks for the cool content.
maybe one thing i can recommend in playing the deck: when you go off with mastery of the unseen, unyield the etb lifegain triggers. because if you manifest heliod or archangel of thune you can turn them faceup before the lifegain triggers resolve... so you get many counters and if there is a archangel you get all counters and an instant kill - and sometimes it helps you to save those etb lifegain counters until you manifest a ballista and then put them all on it - another instant kill when you turn it faceup

Why not attack with manifested knight of the white orchid against the tokens, if he chumps you can flip it and it has first strike

I’m still not seeing how at 52:20 them killing the skyclave matters. You can just play ballista with x=1 and the attendant? Thats an extra 5 damage from ballista plus the flying archangel of thune?
I was thinking the same.. I have a feeling he forgot how skyclave worked for a moment, thinking the unlife was going to come back like a detention sphere effect

If you were really concerned about having an answer to Thassa's Oracle in the sideboard, then what about Nevermore? Adds two {W} to the board, is difficult to interact with, seems perfect for the deck. I don't know whether the deck would be made worse trying to make room for this card, and therefore losing slots to fight other strategies.
Why would you not bring rest in peace vs the kroxa deck? shuts off kroxa and makes channeler a permanent 1/3
the worst thing is to play against yourself, many people dont realize they can win in a some way, but you make them win by early scoop
The goat version of white devotion is even more emrakul-proof. Spaghetti monster doesnt do much against 30+ life and 5+ goats. Great to see my deck gettin some love
is on thin ice and snow plains not just so much better for your deck? it adds devotion and doesnt ramp the opponent like path deos.

Naus opponent was dob. Storm killing the apparition gets them a boxker and removes an attacker.
@@GR_DONKIN He has three mana if he doesnt redirect it. Plays ballista for 1 and the sister in hand. Now he has 10 power in flyers and a ballista x=5
Match 2 Game 2 might not have been an instant game over if you had bottomed the second Auriok Champion instead of Runed Halo... I don't know that it would have made much of a difference, but still :P Great video, Merry Christmas and thanks for the video!
@ naming cards for Runed Halo, Abandon Hope is the standard when you're comboing off and want to BM. Chimney Imp is shorthand for "it doesn't matter what I name". Black Lotus is valid but unoriginal. Kaboom! (exclamation point included) is a fine choice, though it's never been printed on MTGO so I'm not sure if it's on their list. Uncle Istvan is a classic, though I'm partial to Joven's Ferrets personally. Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore works too.
Unfortunately you can't name any of those except Chimney Imp in Modern, though Abandon Reason is probably just as good as Abandon Hope.

For combo hate In Side instead of the one additional tuned halo I would either put in a nevermore or a ghideons intervention
At 53:10 why are we “SUPER dead” if they killed apparition? It’s not like they get the unlife back. Sure they get a 3/3 blocker but the 3/3 would gain us 2 life, putting 2 counters on each of our creatures. Doesn’t even seem that bad to let it go
At 39:00 definitely just play ballista as big as you can, and ping 3 to titan with 3 extra first strike damage from orchid to block and lose nothing.
Feed the Swarm is the "we stopped giving af about color pie" card.

Did you remember you can actually flip up manifest cards? 3/3 first striker wouldve had them dead way sooner Match 1
It was already a 3/3 so it wouldn't have really made a difference
@@abrahamrokhsar9119 it would because if they double blocked with the pair of 2/2s you flip up to gain first strike

Would a non-companion Zirda make this deck run better? All those activated abilities would be cheaper and it also adds to the devotion.
Mastery of the unseen is one of my favorite cards. What a wonderful Christmas present Seth!

Had you ever considered a Divinity of Pride? It's too expensive and very win-more, but it's a fun cheeky choice and has 5 mana symbols.
Heliod and ballista are both good in this deck alone, to some extent

I dunno, this just kinda feels like a bad mix of Mono-White Devotion and a bad Soul Sisters deck. I kinda wanna see an All-In Mono-White Devotion deck with Leyline of the Meek and Force of Virtue to buff a token army.
Also, you really wanna play Weathered Wayfarer on Turn 1 instead of a Borderpost so you can tap it Turn 2. You only really wanna play a Borderpost Turn 1 if you don't have a Wayfarer.
Deck probably needs some Giver of Runes. Deck might be decent with some card adjustments.

Why name Kroxa when they can still attack and have each opponent discard/lose three?
Could someone explain to me what the story was with the opponent playing Lightning Storm? Is it just coz they couldn't discard a land to "pump" the spell?
Read the card. They could not redirect it. Though, even if it had successfully killed the skyclave, he would still have won.
Borderposts taking a positive record in Modern in the midst of the 2020 power spike? That makes me happy. I thought fair Magic was dead.
With as wide as this deck goes, any reason to not run a copy or two of Light From Within?
Given the amount of manifests, just Glorious Anthem is probably better and cheaper. Still, I don't think this deck should have either
Why not 3 Ranger Captain of Eos and 1 Ballista? You can't combo on less than 4 mana anyway, and ranger captain gives 2 devotion.
Why no angel of Destiny?
I've been playing this deck for a couple months now and it's super fun. As said it's really really good in some match-ups and others are near impossible.
Honestly the biggest downside of the deck is you wind up getting into stalemates with prison decks where neither player can win. For that reason the sb needs disenchants.
I played mono white devotion goat tribal. Got several eyebrow raises from opponents until my 18 goats for buffed a ton... 😂
Match 1, Game 3 only attacking with Heliod was infuriating. Just swing with your hidden first striker!

Probably because it's more expensive than Runed Halo. Still, I think this or, similarly, Nevermore, would just do a lot more.

I feel like Primeval Titan is maybe more worthy of banning in Modern than many cards on the banned list (that I am not necessarily sure should come off either though).
The deck just seems incredibly powerful and consistent and versatile. Your Much Abrew and Budget Magic record against Amulet Titan decks for the past year or two is pretty bad (but it is not just you either).
I mean, the deck can be very unfun and degenerate sometimes when not interacted with. But I feel like it has some cards that are harder to beat, like blood moon, lost legacy effects, even damping sphere and other random hate cards. It’s like playing against U/W almost I feel like. Some games they have 3 cryptics 2 snapcasters and a mystic sanctuary, but in a way if they don’t have what they need then it just falls apart. Pressure and interaction, best strategy for both

The opponent named walking ballista with pithing needle, so it couldn't use it's ability to ping stuff.

@Atmapalazzo God, I'm glad someone understands this. Imo it makes more sense flavor wise that black can do it than green. Also, it will always only be your opponents enchantments and there will be drawbacks.
@@ThunderousChemQ27 evolve. Not break their identity. This would be the equivalent of printing efficient counterspells for white. Or removal spells for blue. Not even Planar Chaos, a set designed for pushing color identity into a different direction had answer cards outside of the color restriction that where this efficient. Maybe you guys don’t see it now. Red has already gotten card draw (exile) in recent years, now black is getting enchantment removel. if this trend continues every color in magic will just be able to do the same. Cards nowadays do too much.

It might prove a strictly worse CoCo deck, but interesting angle of attack nonetheless :)
I'm not convinced that you know how manifest works... you can flip the cards up... a surprise first striking knight on the attack would have settled the chump blocker issue.
Feed the swarm is such a load of BS. Why does black just randomly get enchantment removal AND gets to splash the same card for creature removal!? And it's not even like it's 4 mana and unplayable - 2 is incredibly aggressively costed. Red/green cards barely get that kind of value. There's literally no reason for rakdos to be Jund now.
