My son got married in 2021 and played Stable Song as I walked him in and his bride's parents walked her in. We were doing the rehearsal the day before and this song came on. I said, " Is this what we are proceeding in to? Well, if I wasn't going to cry before, I am now"
This is one of the best performances I've seen, I've never seen Gregory smile as much as possible as he expressed here. And you know, nothing would be quite the same without the man in the back of the audience, providing a great harmonious whoooo hooooo!! 😉❤
Got the guys to sing O'City Lights for me at the Tõnder folk festival in Denmark 3 yearsa go....Amazing...il never forget he says he was never asked to sing and inside a massive circus 🎪 tent asked for the lights to go down ...Movie Moment..that's the 3rd time I've spoken to him over the years 🤟
great performance, thanks for posting. i like enthusiasm in a crowd but this is too much at times, why not let them play without drowning the music out with hollering?
Kid, I totally dig your music. It seems to be workin' it's way up in the rotation and I was in one of those moods for a dose of something Rootsy with hints of traditional and I started checking out your lyrics and was pleasantly surprised that the imagery and emotion you add with the singing aspect of your talent goes very well with the other aspect Your guitar playing. It's so good in fact that I don't even hold against you your youth or Good looks and when I saw that lovely young woman singing with you on some video, I thought, You go kid. So in conclusion enjoy it all and don't wish any of it away. You should hook up with Bob Dylan's buddies, The old crow Medicine Boys... Men, I mean. I was thinking they were about your age until I got a good look at you the other day and scruffy Biard or not You're a young Man, and my surprise is the wisdom in your words are beyond your years. Not that I'm an expert but it's usually customary to mess up a bunch of shit and nearly destroy yourself publicly before you get to write songs as good as you write. I do my Facebook the same way as I'm actually talking to the persons in the video. LOL, The person who was kind enough to post these Jams is probably thinking, I'll be sure to tell 'em if I ever meet them. lol. It's a small world but the Folk music world is the Smallest of the music world with the exception of Polka, Zidaco, and Soaka perhaps there are more but I think I covered the worthy cousins of Folk. I wonder how many people get to the end of my rants? lol
Yes, I was there too! Such a great encore, I'm so thankful that we clapped for the 3-4minutes that brought them back out. I wanted to know, what was the first song that they played? Not out of the Encore songs but the regular show. It had a set of three very deep beats from the drums, anyone know?
Does anyone know the make and model of the guitar that he's using in this video? It looks a lot like a Yamaha C40 but I'm not sure, the only thing that has me doubting it's a C40 is it's cost.
Did you happen to get "This empty northern hemisphere" recorded? I was there and I absolutely loved the version they did. I wish there was some place I could listen to it again
Yo egg shaker doesn’t get enough love, bro’s a champion
Such a beautiful ensemble, they are all so incredible together !
Such simplicity. He has a timeless quality to his music.
Musical perfection right here.

This is my bucket list. This venue, this band. This experience. One giant religious experience.
It was amazing!
This is the most fun I’ve had all month
I love you guys. You have a feeling of Iron and Wine. Just hits the soul and plays your heart like a violin. (or a Banjo? I love the Banjo.)

😃
Nothing beats the cohesiveness of the instrumentation and those vocal harmonies!!
Jesus christ these guys are amazing..imagine playing these masterpieces live, that close to what we hear..ps Varney is a badass lol
I LOVE VARNEY beyond words.❤
Agreed, Greg is lucky to have him
That is a beautiful $700 Ear Trumpet mic specifically made to really bring out acoustic strings and the vocals of multiple people
Anyone else despise the screaming while they're playing?
Yeah, women need to be quiet
@@Gofaw I heard mostly men...
I was there too, what an amazing atmosphere at the Ryman. And what incredible musicians.
Actually I just realised that I was at next day's show :-) But equally great!
I need him to release another live album
good lord, this is special.
It was amazing!
I didn't get to hear Time Will Tell and Shades of Blue last time, I really hope they play them this year.
GAI’s music is my favorite thing. Love everything he does.❤️🔥
I saw him the next night with Joe Purdy. What an amazing concert some of the most talented musicians
How often do you see musicians happy to take each others space?
Time will tell
Se ve que aman lo que hacen, y yo los amo a ellos 💓
I saw them in Sac on Tuesday, I was there for The Lumineers but wow was totally amazed by them.

Aoife and him should collaborate!
Great idea!
I wonder if Jeb has ever skulled Steve during these close-quarter moments.
I'm more concern about that bow going into someone's eye
great performance, thanks for posting. i like enthusiasm in a crowd but this is too much at times, why not let them play without drowning the music out with hollering?

Southern Star was the first song they played that night
What mic is that?!!! It sounds amazing for picking up everyone.
Looks like an old condenser mic

What kind of microphone is that!?
Not really my style of music...and one of my fav songs.
Wow, the crowed is so easily impressed, must be really drunk?

The crowd is being obnoxious.
