Wow. I'm 37 now, and honored that Wutang was a part of my childhood. No shade on modern artists, but the Wu weren't manufactured guys when they came on scene. The lyrics really stood out to me with this album, dense battle rhymes potent with metaphors. Each Wu MC links his rhymes to crime and violence, allowing his preoccupations to surface subtly and indirectly, rather than spouting off overt gangsta-isms designed to shock ... The hood imagery of the lyrics is utterly pervasive and uncompromising, immersing the listener in a foreign land smack in the middle of New York.
People who really really love the WU can't never say who they favorite...its one of my hardest decisions I ever tried to make and I still can't decide to this day...The struggle

Ya got 2 UNDERSTAND that this shit is deeper than money people lose and gain money on a regular money shouldn't define who a person is really about they are trying 2 tell ya about the struggles that they been through good and bad that at the end of the day they still kept it family
I'm an OG not from NY. But from the Islands and when I tell you this group inspired people on every level I mean all aspects of life from teachers to pastors drug dealers you name it at some point in time it was the Clan that inspired or influenced a whole 3 Generations. Trust and believe probably the most influential musical group of all time. It can never be duplicated its timing was what it was like The Bob Marley and the Whalers. Richard Pryor. Once in a lifetime shit.
Still remember my high school days, listening to protect ya neck was the song playing in my mind when I confronted a long time bully the first fight I ever got into messed up the dudes leg bad with a broken broom stick and his friends that was helping him didn't even want to jump in to help him when he was down on the floor, after that day got arrested for assault but won the case on self defense a year later. But the eyes on me in school I felt like a pariah no one ever talked to me all I heard was leave that kid alone. Even tho I felt alone it still better than being made fun of and beat up on a daily/weekly basis. Thank you WU TANG for existing.
I fux with Griselda but they ain't about saving the babies. They are about destroying not building. No hate on them they just on some different shit from the Wu.
I appreciate the homage that this rap group pays to martial films, particularly those produced by the Shaw Brothers group. However, people must be informed that it's Gung Fu and not Karate that the films primarily exhibit. Also, Wu Tang (pronounced mo dong) and Shaolin are traditional schools/monasteries in China. Wu Tang takes its basis in Taoism, whereas Shaolin holds to Buddhist teachings. Martial arts in both sects were rooted in their respective philosophical teachings, as well as for defense.
🤷🏽♂️ we can’t expect everybody to be “informed” to the highest level on most anything. It’s like people thinking yoga is just a form of stretching/exercise. They don’t need to know all the forms of yoga beyond that, the origins etc., to get benefit from the one form they do know. A little bit of something is always better than a lot of nothing!

Not a favorite but I can tell you the best opening verse of all time 🙌
Rza
Listen im been down with wu tang since day 1 im 41 yo now i can have a favorite and my favorite is Gza
I feel u on this. I was thinking about it with every sample, every one of em talking. But all day I miss the old dirty doggy, the old dirty Chinese restaurant, Osirus,
Ghostface killa
Yo I'm only 21 but discovered my first Wu-Tang song 5 years ago and have loved them ever since. My favorite thing about them was that they sounded like they literally were just chilling on a street corner when they recorded and spit their shit. It sounded and still sounds amazing.
The10Liam yesssss so true!!! 👐🏼
PEACE TO THE GODS.

Same thing happened to jesus.... people hated him for speaking the word of his father... odb was my favorite mc of all time and i have no problem with his son carrying his legacy.. stop hating.
Cringe
So happy to see YDB adopted by the clan. We, the fans needed this. It wouldn't be right not to. Peace to the Wu gods.
That background sound in C. R. E. A. M. ... you know that sound ... Enough said.
I have bought this, album more times then I can remember 5 times on cassette 3 times on CD and twice on vinyl.... I think
Jason Hobbs daam 🤣
@@marxman300 had to for that 36 chambers I think wu forever is 4 times
@@jasonhobbs1345 I hear that.i have 36 chambers on cd and vinyl.my vinyl version is quite low compared to the cd though.🤷🏾♂️
ODB was light years ahead of his time!! Mystery of chess boxing 🔥 🔥💪💪
It's like a pastime. I'm 38, and for people in my age bracket, this was like the good ol' days. Kinda like they said in Can it all be all so simple. It was truly a special time, and more than likely will never come back.
I feel like it will ...it will raise back from the death bed....
I'm 13 but I grew listening to this music and it's way better than the music today
B 2 Da Ry...The WU was born in a time of chaos. We're in a time of chaos, now. The WU will answer the call.
Young ODB looks and sounds exactly like his pops
That's was amazing
Agreed!
YDB
No he DOESN'T!!! Yo can't even do his own father's parts right and he goes way way overboard biting odb style
Im so glad to hear thats his son....he holding him down too. I salute
tears of joy to see odb son with them
its soo fitting.the clan is whole again
36 chamabers was the first HipHop album I ever picked up freshman in HS. 2009 changed my life forever. I was a strickly punk and metal dude. 36 chambers opend a new world for me and I will be forever grateful. WuForver&Ever.

There is so much love in the comments. This is the essence of the Wu.
My son loved the Wu!
When ODB's son did his mannerisms, I felt like I saw ODB for a second.
No way... he's corny as fuck
@@williamkelly777 lol.. he corny for being like his dad? im like my dad in more ways than I care to be..
@@williamkelly777 Stfu bitch
@@soramirez5473 he is corny, that was ODB's personallity but his son is just acting and its cringy as fuck. It sounds like people have pressured him into being the 2.0 of his father. But he was too unique to be copied.
@@benoneill4318 and how exactly do you know that? do you KNOW YDB? and if so can you READ HIS MIND?.. it's his son.. I CRINGE WHEN I DO SOMETHING THAT REMINDS ME OF MY DAD.. ridiculous..
the conviction in Ghostface's being when he said 'We had to come, the Clan had to come, This was already in God's hands' gave me chills not just because they said and believe it but because the world knows its true , much respect to the gods
It’s amazing how this only has 9,000 views so far. If this was a documentary about one of these cross dressing artists that are out now the shit would have a billion views First Day!!!
You'd be lying if you'd deny that had an impact on pop culture forever
I been a big Wu head since i was a kid. Wu-Tang is forever in my blood
Thank you for this. Now when's the movie coming out!? R.i.p. ODB
ralphieasilva Lets hope they dont ruin it
@@anthoniotafolla8293 original actors!
Word!! They gotta do the movie justice and make it at least 2 1/2 or 3 hours.
Growing up in the 90’s, the other punk asses in school would hate on me for rocking the Wu, while they all listened to Master P and Puff Daddy. Funny how time caught up to everyone.
Side note - I still feel more than blessed for catching the GZA on the Liquid Swords tour in 2012.
I need a 2 hour version of this
Henrique Cardoso Like Tribe got a documentary Wu needs one. Released in theaters so we can support it
@@twocents6951 They have one coming. Went to the release party for this video on Thursday, the director of this video said there is one coming.
GoHomeRoger l._.l I’m still waiting on that NYC show too
yootubesucks123 I meant of 36 chambers the album. Ob4cl & Liquid Swords also need documentaries

I was the kid with every Wu-Tang album in High School. Born in 1980
I'm from the projects in Serbia and my whole generation grew up on wu. Miss those times and I don't miss those times.
Betcha that some of y'all didn't know that the shaolin monk in the intro was Sifu Shi Yan Ming. Real life Shaolin Disciple and Rza's martial arts instructor.
Appearing 45 seconds after they talk about how some karate movies influenced them... yikes
Everyone knows.
You know it's weird that monks, Asian didn't make wu-tang clan but the inspiration from there movies Wich they grew up on kung-fu like we all did, honestly if it weren't for shiolin kung-fu were would Wu be
Best rap album ever.. not an opinion. Facts

I like ODB Too, but he didn’t even write all of his raps
THIS WAS NOT IN DEPTH ENOUGH. NEEDED AT LEAST AN HOUR. DON'T EVER SHORT CHANGE THE CLAN AGAIN.

AGREED. MY SHAOLIN XIOAI XiAO WILL DEMAND NOTHING LESS
Of mics and men made that right
The Wu Tang Clan will forever be the most iconic group in the hiphop rap game. My personal Favorite since i was alil kid
Looking at ODB son and his mannerisms is truly him all over again.
From the business aspect, no clan member should be broke.....ever😐
They never capitalized off their image like they could have
None of them are broke
@@HomebaseFILMS of course they did.
Ya got 2 UNDERSTAND that this shit is deeper than money people lose and gain money on a regular money shouldn't define who a person is really about they are trying 2 tell ya about the struggles that they been through good and bad that at the end of the day they still kept it family
The RZA did a few members dirty
It's heartwarming to hear his son recite his rhymes with so much heart.
Wu tang put Staten Island on the map
Nah, I think you're getting confused with Rand McNally bruh. Cuz they were one of the first to put Staten Island on the map.
I'm from Queens NYC. I was 13 when I copped 36 Chambers. They put Shaolin on the map, period.
Tribe of Judah 77 shaolin*
Joseph Blanchard The Wu’s brand is more superior than Rand McNally....
im from uptown nyc and you are right
I'm an OG not from NY.
Wailers
My grandmother brought me the album the first day it came out back in 93
King Fresh crazy thing, my grandmother remembers Wutang from back in the day, because my uncle was playing it heavy back when it came out.

Fax my dude
kill-A-gram ummmmm 20years lmao, more like “killed it for about 10” there music went downhill more and more, facts... don’t fucking argue
THANKS
🤷🏽♂️ we can’t expect everybody to be “informed” to the highest level on most anything. It’s like people thinking yoga is just a form of stretching/exercise. They don’t need to know all the forms of yoga beyond that, the origins etc., to get benefit from the one form they do know. A little bit of something is always better than a lot of nothing!
Young dirty did that neck roll just like pops stg...no one else can duplicate that
i´m from brasil i`m 29 years old i love wu tang clan 12/11/18
By far the greatest hip hop group ever to bless the mic. point, blank, period!!!!
