North West passage?
What about the alternative Interoeanic train route from the Pacific across Mexico to the Gulf? It’s open now and will be gearing up for freight to offer an alternative to the Panama Canal. 🤔 Probably no comparison ships vs trains just for the immense capacity difference.

More expensive transport = cost rises accross the value chain = most likely higher prices in the end
