    There’s a famous photo of a Marine on Iwo Jima with one of these stuffed into his ammo belt. They were certainly used in WW2 but in very limited numbers.

    An ungentlemanly weapon for a most ungentlemanly conflict.

      Without the rum ration most attacks would have been impossible, I was told. You had to get the men fighting drunk beforehand.

      Thank you kindly! And good luck getting your rifle restored! Had a really hard time with a cracked SMLE stock a couple years ago myself, original stocks just don’t pop up that often

      If I am understanding your description correctly yes, it looks like wavy protrusions on both edges of the knuckle guard

    The meanest weapon in world war 1 I was Told was the short shovel ,which everyone had ,🇬🇧

    I just picked one up with a 1918 sheath for $300. Did I do good?

    • @GreatNorthwestWeaponry
      @GreatNorthwestWeaponry  Год назад

      You definitely did good, $500 without a sheath wouldn’t be that unreasonable
