You two are quickly becoming my new favorite couple. I have some really good couple movie reactors, but when you both shed tears when he left the island it actually gave me goosebumps. Please more movie/video content. You are doing great! Subscribed!!!
There was no music until the scene where he left the island. It's a testament to his acting that he can carry the movie with no music until then. It's all dialog between him and Wilson but he still manages to swing your emotions and keep you engaged through all of it.
Only Tom hanks can make you cry for a volley ball. It’s just a volley ball. But that was his friend. Still brings a tear to so many people’s eye when Wilson is gone.
@@BossMovieReactions the volleyball made by the Wilson company, thus Wilson, Wilson is also the last name of Tom hanks wife..Rita Wilson… I’m going to guess he thought of her when talking to Wilson…
The most logical reason he didn’t open the package was that it kept him going mentally. He decided that it would be his mission and motivation to get off the island and deliver the package.
The fellow here in this reaction is extraordinary ..your empathy and compassion is heartwarming.. and your connection to the psychological relationship with Wilson is so tender and real...being stranded on a island with you would be comforting and safe..Tom Hanks is one heck of an artist at his craft... see Forrest Gump starring this wonderful actor..
Great scene when he looks back at the island after making it through the big wave and he knows he’s leaving it. He can’t help but look at it with some emotion knowing it did save his life and keep him alive for four years. Great actor and great reaction from both of you!
Yes, I instantly connected it to the moment when the airplane lifted off and I left Switzerland for good to come to the USA!! Happy and sad at the same time!! (:
Few moments in film come close to his loss of Wilson. I know a couple of people who think his relationship with Wilson was silly. But I feel sorry for those people. There’s so much they don’t understand, and it can’t be taught in school. Something as simple as a volleyball can be so much more than just a volleyball. Another great reaction, and your choice is excellent. 🎬
I bet you would never think that unbuckling his seat belt in the plane to retrieve the watch after the hazardous material exploded and the plane crashing in the ocean, saved his life!
There was a Superbowl commercial where the Tom Hanks character delivers the final package and asks the person if he could tell him what was in it. The man opens it and says "Oh, not much, just a satellite phone, fire starting kit, flashlight, first aid kit, compass ..." 😅
When Tom Hanks was opening the boxes, I love how Mike was thinking of the items for practical purposes in the current situation and how Jessica was basically like “oh, I can ice skate with these!”. Lol
I've seen this movie a few times ad although I feel for him when he loses Wilson, I never teared up. Until now. Watching you 2 cry like you lost the best friend was contagious, I shed a tear in solidarity.

Just going to do a running set of notes I once read an interview conducted with a guy who was lost at sea in a life raft for (I think. It was years ago I read it) 2-3 months. Some relevant information here is that he said you never really know what you're doing. You just deal with the problems as they come (such as a shark accidentally biting your inflatable). The second was when you guys discussed whether you like coconuts. This guy said he is still repulsed by the compulsion he had to eat fish eyeballs when he caught them. His body took care of the part where he didn't like eating things That look Hanks gives leaving the island is acting at its best. He goes from excitement to fear as the gravity of leaving the safety of the island sets in. Its beautiful work I love how emotionally invested you guys get. I never used to until I had kids and something changed man. I think it's a great quality in a film maker to understand the emotion you can illicit in a person. It's cathartic I've never noticed the growth Chuck goes through when he consoles his friend over his wife. Like he's grown to appreciate "time" more The scene with his wife always gets to me. She has no blame and has been through so much as well. But it's so hard to see. A man stuck in time vs a woman who wasn't. Her guilt is so well acted. It's sad and it's beautiful all at the same time Kind of appropriate that the film ends at a crossroads
Filmmaking is an art. And what type of art works without an emotional component. Something that bothers me about many so-called critics is that they criticize very precisely according to ideological, technical and craftsmanship points of view. But usually the emotional side falls by the wayside. But what makes a viewer cheer, hope, tremble and stay tuned until the end. The emotional. This film & so many other films have a perfect balance of story & emotions. And I had every tear on your face when I saw this film for the first time. Great reaction. RESPECT
Second movie/comment in a row. Another really enjoyable reaction. Mike, your sentimental nature is so touching, especially in this harsh world we’re living in today. Never change; either of you. My best hopes and wishes that your channel grows rapidly 🙏❤️
This has got to be the most greatest and realistic reaction I have ever seen of this film and I have watched ALOT of them! 24 years later since I first watched it in the theater (it was the year I graduated high school) and it STILL gets the tears flowing. The part that gets me the most (other than him leaving the island...and I have to say, your reactions to that was 100% ON POINT) is when he tells Stan on the plane how sorry he was that he wasn't there for him when his wife ultimately died of cancer. 😭😭😭 The contrast between the scene where he tells him about the doctor he knows and the scene on the plane shows how much Chuck had changed on the inside rather than just outside. One of the greatest films out there and STILL a massive favorite. I have happily subscribed and look forward to seeing more from you guys. 👍😁❤️ I will also share. Greetings from California, USA!

I read, that in the very first production version of this movie, that they had someone doing a voice for Wilson, that answered back to him when he was talking to the ball. The editors and Director decided by the 3rd cut that having that voice took away impact from the film, so they removed that sound track.
My daughter just told me about you guys and she was right! Loved your reactions and your authenticity. And may I say that you are a very gorgeous couple! Keep up the great work!

This was the first movie to ever teach me survival skills & critical thinking, ways to use the items in those boxes for something helpful eventually. I’m so thankful for this movie teaching me so much. Wilson broke my heart too.
Oh, I'm happy to hear that! I felt similar when the plane lifted off and I left Switzerland for good to come to the USA. Happy, but also sad at the same time! Thanks for sharing! (:
Sadly, the actress at the end (Lari White) died of cancer very young. And she was married to a "Chuck." She was a very talented and successful country singer.

6:55 - I never noticed the sailing certification. Gotta love when movies insert little plot details like that, that most people might not bother noticing or thinking about how it relates to the plot. Now it all makes sense how he would have the knowledge for sailing, and doing the in the cave to come up with a rough guess as to where the island was at in the ocean.
Yes, I totally agree! Little details like that make the plot more credible! The MOST interesting thing is that the red (EPIRB) "Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon" was ripped off when Chuck inflated the lifeboat underwater. Remember that? That's a brilliant detail that one person told me. Thanks for watching! (:
@@BossMovieReactions Woah. I never knew that either. It's been a while since I watched the full movie, myself. Back when I didn't pay as much attention to detail as I do today. That's great writing.

Just this week 3 men were rescued from a deserted island in the Pacific. They had been there a week and were found because they spelled out "HELP" using Palm Fronds. The search plane pilot said that had the men not have done that they would have been almost impossible to see/find.
You two are so empathetic that for the first time ever, I experienced 3rd hand emotions, if there's even such a thing. ❤🥺😭 As soon as he yelled "I'm sorry!" I felt his sadness through you two and it was so profound 😭 51:25 By the way, fun fact! Tom Hanks wife's name is actually Rita Wilson! So it makes sense that in a way, his wife was with him throughout the whole movie! Through the thickest of the thickest 🫂❤️
Quite a genuine emotional reaction, you two are real ones. Very refreshing in a sea over the top reactors and silliness where the movie itself is often lost or becomes a side dish. Love you guys and can't wait for your LOTR (extended) reactions, and pretty much anything else you do. Thank You!
Memphis is actually my hometown and my mother worked at FedEx for 35 years. Tom Hanks visited the Memphis hub during filming but unfortunately she didn't get to see him because she worked at HQ on the other side of town and I was in high school. BTW the loss of Wilson got me good in the movie theater too. Felt like I loss a friend for a few seconds there . Chuck got dealt a bad hand but I was happy to see him given some hope at the end.
By far! My favorite movie reactors on RUclips, and I've been watching them since they were a thing. You put so much time into the editing, and I appreciate it so much. You never take out a key moment in the film. That being said. I love your guys vulnerability. I get very emotional from movies too, so it's nice to be able to share that. It's not often men allow themselves to emote and actually let themselves go. Thank you and can't wait for the next movie!❤
Aw, what a wonderful comment. Thank you so much. Yes, editing is extremely time-consuming, but the worst part is that once I'm done editing I have to start "destroying" my work in order to pass the copyright censorship. It's really tough. Anyway, thanks for your kind words! (:
Chuck leaving the island behind, and the soundtrack kicking in, that is such manly way to shed tears \\edit: there is not a lot of movies which portray male emotionality. This is one.
man avoided the dentist and the dentist took his girl... Wilson represented "will" . It was by sheer "Will" (WILson) that he kept himself alive, when he lost him at sea, he was defeated, it was his "will" was to keep on was leaving, but he was saved and didn't need a "will" to survive anymore, he had made it. From time to time, we all need a Wilson in our lives. In his car he has Wilson again, cause again it represents his will to go on after he lost Kelly again.

The scene with his wife always gets to me. She has no blame and has been through so much as well. But it's so hard to see. A man stuck in time vs a woman who wasn't. Her guilt is so well acted. It's sad and it's beautiful all at the same time
Kind of appropriate that the film ends at a crossroads
Yes, I agree with all that! Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
Filmmaking is an art. And what type of art works without an emotional component. Something that bothers me about many so-called critics is that they criticize very precisely according to ideological, technical and craftsmanship points of view. But usually the emotional side falls by the wayside. But what makes a viewer cheer, hope, tremble and stay tuned until the end. The emotional. This film & so many other films have a perfect balance of story & emotions. And I had every tear on your face when I saw this film for the first time. Great reaction. RESPECT
Thank you, Florian. And again, I think you're absolutely correct with your statements. Very good points! Thx for watching! (:
Thank you!!! This is the reaction I've been looking for when Wilson floats away, the same reaction I had the first time I watched it
Thanks for watching, Victoria!! ((:
Second movie/comment in a row. Another really enjoyable reaction. Mike, your sentimental nature is so touching, especially in this harsh world we’re living in today. Never change; either of you. My best hopes and wishes that your channel grows rapidly 🙏❤️
Aw, that is so nice of you to say, Marianna, Made my day! Thank you so much! (:
Only an excellent script and a masterful performance can make you cry like a child over a volleyball.
Yes, you're absolutely correct! This is one of those examples! Thanks for watching! (:
Hi Christina, thank you so much for watching, commenting, subscribing, and SHARING!! Also, thanks for your kind words, it made our day. You're so right about the scene that shows the contrast. Quite a few people have missed it. We're happy to have you on board. Greetings from North Hollywood, CA. ((:
This is the first video I’ve seen from you guys… seen this movie multiple times, but I cried with you 🥹 you guys are beautiful people, subscribed immediately 🤗🥰
Aw, Tracy, we're so happy you found us and that we can share our experience with you. Thanks for your kind words, thanks for watching, and thanks for subscribing! ((:
I saw this movie when I was a child and remember packing a survival backpack after seeing this. I think it was filled with matches, scissors, a cup, granola bars and fruit snacks. Lol
Haha, smart girl! (:
thats really cute
Great reaction and great editing on your part. I enjoy thoughtful editing that makes me feel like I'm watch the movie all over again (all the key moments and call backs left in). Subscribed.
Thank you, Michael! And thanks for watching and commenting AND subscribing! The tough part about editing is getting around the censorship... It's really tough sometimes, so I appreciate your kind words! (:
I read, that in the very first production version of this movie, that they had someone doing a voice for Wilson, that answered back to him when he was talking to the ball. The editors and Director decided by the 3rd cut that having that voice took away impact from the film, so they removed that sound track.
That is very interesting and I think it was an excellent decision to remove the voiceover. Thanks for watching and sharing! (:
I doubt that’s true because it sounds very idiotic
My daughter just told me about you guys and she was right! Loved your reactions and your authenticity. And may I say that you are a very gorgeous couple! Keep up the great work!
Aw, thank you so much for your kind words, and thanks to your daughter for recommending us. ((:
I thank my parents for showing me movies like this as a little kid...i feel like its what taught me to be good my whole life😂 to appreciate time and everything i have
That's awesome!! Some people would say that "time" is the most valuable thing we have... ((:
@BossMovieReactions ain't that the truth!!!..btw If you think this movie is sad..wait until you watch The Green mile.. Idk if people have asked you to watch it,but when I tell you that movie always makes me cry..just like wilson drifting away🤣oh man..Tom Hanks and the whole cast killed it in that movie.. also another movie that people don't really react to is JOY RIDE(2001) with Paul walker...it's an awesome suspense movie...a hidden gem people don't talk about..if you get around to it I know you and your wife will enjoy it!..I just found you guys and I'm already hooked..wish you guys nothing but the best👌🙏
@@_Rammstein Thanks, Rammstein, we're happy you found us! "Green Mile" is already on our list, but I added "Joy Ride." Thanks! (:
Well, I completely concur with the first comment you read out before the show began. I've watched many a reaction channel, and you two are definitely my favorites. Knowledgeable, down to earth, genuine, and I just love how the boss man is a pure empath, like my divergent self, and I just really enjoy how he feels each and every emotion. And wifey, well, you're adorable and funny, and just a joy to watch. Watch. I look forward to hanging out with you two virtually again soon. Cheers from Toronto.☮️🎬
Oh, what a fantastic comment, thank you so much for your kind words! Made our day!! Btw, I was born in Toronto but my Swiss parents went back to Switzerland when I was 1 year old, so Switzerland is what I know. I'm a triple-citizen now! (:
@@BossMovieReactions Ha, cool. And it's my pleasure. See you on the next one! 🎬
This was the first movie to ever teach me survival skills & critical thinking, ways to use the items in those boxes for something helpful eventually. I’m so thankful for this movie teaching me so much. Wilson broke my heart too.
Yeah, great movie for some survival skills and yes, heartbreaking as well. Thanks for watching! (:
Jessica & I were totally on the same page watching him open those packages for the first time! 😂😂😂
@@mistyxmarlboro 🤣👍
Dude, I had the same reaction when he’s rowing away from the island the first time I saw this movie….still makes me emotional
R.I.P. Thanks for sharing!
Great and genuine emotions in your review make it so special. Thank you both for your wonderful reaction
Thanks for saying that! Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
I've been working with FedEx for 3.5 years and it's hands down the best damn career I've ever had. Fast paced, always new faces & they'll fly you to other cities as a contingency driver. I'll work here until I retire.
Great reaction, y'all be safe 🤠
Oh, wow, that's great to hear! Thx for watching! (:
Man, I love you! I wish I could give you a hug! You two are so precious! I hope you have a good life with nothing but goodness! And through that good life, I wish you radiate as much joy to the world! I love you guys 💜
Oh, wow, what a fantastically heartwarming comment! Thank you so much for your kind words! This made our day! Many hugs back to you!! (:
Really nice reaction and you're a really nice couple too.
I saw the movie years ago in the theater and the scene when the bow of the huge ship slowly appear and fill up the screen was breathtaking beyond belief...
YES, an amazing moment! Thanks for watching and thanks for your kind words! We appreciate it! (:
Your reaction reminds me of how I felt when I first saw the movie in theaters. Looking forward to more movie reactions
Happy to hear that you enjoyed it! Thanks! (:
9:09 this man have a big heart. As for me, only strong man can show his emotions and tears. Respect for that! Sorry, I don't know the language. Hello from Ukraine, by the way. And... Man, you have a beautiful wife! Take care of each other!
Hey DDC77, thank you so much for saying all that! Your English is great! I'll pass on the compliment to my wife, Jessica.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! Many greetings to Ukraine from Los Angeles! (:
48:35 I love that the whales help him to get to other humans. It's never said, but I feel they watched over him, assisted his direction, woke him up when needed, etc.
Yes, that's a nice thought... Kind of felt like that too. (:
Your reaction is so touching and sincere, it's so nice to see it!
Guys you should definitely watch these movies:
"The Impossible" 2012,
"Troy" 2004,
"The Notebook" 2004,
"Seven" 1995,
"The Sixth Sense" 1999,
"Léon" 1994,
"The Fifth Element" 1997,
"Your name" 2016 anime.
Thank you so much. I added the movies that weren't already on our list. Thanks for watching! (:
Wow guys omg that was such a raw and genuine reaction! Loved this, so happy I found your channel :D
And we're so happy you found us. Thanks for watching! We appreciate it! (:
Great reaction!!❤ Seen it sooo many times and cry every time😢😢
Thanks, Terri. Yeah, it would be hard not to shed a tear. Thanks for watching! We appreciate it! (:
It was the best Cast Away reaction i have seen on RUclips! Thank you, you are great!
Fantastic! So happy to hear that! Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
'..Batteries are out..' 🤣 Kids. 🙃
Lol great reaction, you two.
Thanks for watching! (:
Who would have guessed that we all would cry our eyes out over a volley ball? But if you didn't, then you must be made of stone.
Yeah, sooo true! Amazing movie-making! Thanks for watching! (:
This is my favorite Tom Hanks movie
Such an incredible performance
Yes, amazing movie and an amazing performance! Thx for watching! (:
I recommend watch the super bowl commercial called castaway. The commerical shows what was in the package 😂😂
Haha, really? I bet it was full of useful things! (((:

Outstanding reaction from you guys. It's such an amazing story and so well made/told that it makes us cry over a volleyball amongst many other moments. Love your channel and the content you are producing. Thank you for the content you are giving to us.
Aw, thanks for saying that!! And thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
Love your reactions to a great movie
Thanks, Mike, we appreciate it!! (:
Mike, you feel movies just like I do. This film hit me so hard in all the same places that you reacted strongly to. It was lovely to watch.
That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing that! (:
Absolutely love the channel. I’d love to make a movie with you. Both of your emotional intelligence connects so well.

Love all the emotion and authenticity and passion in the reaction. Always look forward to their videos.
Thank you for that! And thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
Just this week 3 men were rescued from a deserted island in the Pacific. They had been there a week and were found because they spelled out "HELP" using Palm Fronds. The search plane pilot said that had the men not have done that they would have been almost impossible to see/find.
Ah, interesting. Just what Chuck did at the beginning, only that no one was looking for him there. (:
Before this movie who ever knew a grown man losing a volleyball as a friend would make anyone bawl like a baby.
Haha, yeah, really! Amazing writing and amazing acting! Thanks for watching! (:
You two are so empathetic that for the first time ever, I experienced 3rd hand emotions, if there's even such a thing. ❤🥺😭 As soon as he yelled "I'm sorry!" I felt his sadness through you two and it was so profound 😭 51:25
By the way, fun fact! Tom Hanks wife's name is actually Rita Wilson! So it makes sense that in a way, his wife was with him throughout the whole movie! Through the thickest of the thickest 🫂❤️
Haha, 3rd hand emotions, that's great, I love it. Thanks for sharing your experience and the extra info! (:
Quite a genuine emotional reaction, you two are real ones. Very refreshing in a sea over the top reactors and silliness where the movie itself is often lost or becomes a side dish. Love you guys and can't wait for your LOTR (extended) reactions, and pretty much anything else you do. Thank You!
Thanks so much, we appreciate your kind words. And yes, you're right, the movie itself should not get lost. (:
One of the greatest scenes ever and it does make you cry for real
Yes, one of the greatest scenes indeed! Thanks for watching! (:
Memphis is actually my hometown and my mother worked at FedEx for 35 years. Tom Hanks visited the Memphis hub during filming but unfortunately she didn't get to see him because she worked at HQ on the other side of town and I was in high school. BTW the loss of Wilson got me good in the movie theater too. Felt like I loss a friend for a few seconds there . Chuck got dealt a bad hand but I was happy to see him given some hope at the end.
Yes, agree on all points! Thanks for sharing and watching! (:
Great reaction. Love your channel.
Thank you so much! We appreciate it! (:
51:20 Wilson. 😢
nice reaction guys.
Thanks, Mr. Lebowski... That movie is on our list as well. Can't wait... (:
😢😢😭😭
Chuck leaving the island behind, and the soundtrack kicking in, that is such manly way to shed tears
\\edit: there is not a lot of movies which portray male emotionality. This is one.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! (:
man avoided the dentist and the dentist took his girl...
Haha... The irony! Thanks for watching! (:
Losing 4 years. Where does one begin again? Toughest question IMO that this movie poses. Great reaction you two. Thanks.
Yeah, tough question indeed... I guess continue breathing and see what the tide brings in... Thanks for watching! (:
You & me both, brother. I've seen the opening of the sail scene many times, but this reaction was the first time I got emotional from it. Wow.

Girl!!!! I’m SURE you’re much stronger than you give yourself credit for! Yes being in a situation like this would be terrifying but I guarantee your need to survive would kick in and you’d use your head to make it thru. It wouldn’t hurt to do some sort of basic survival type situations Now. These days you truly never know what you may have to know/do. Learning basic shelter, fire building, etc is a must
Yes, I think you're correct. I think Jessica's survival instincts would kick in as you've said. Thanks for watching, thanks for the tips, and thanks for the encouragement. (:
