- Just give you guys a quick shop update. i've done the belt grinder and the simple stand for it.
The amazing belt grinder design from Jeremy Schmidt. thank you so much for shared, Jeremy!
here's Jeremy video: • Building the Gen 1 Bel... and more details on his website: jerswoodshop.co...
Wishing a very Happy New Year to you guys! thanks for watching
That is seriously a work of art! (Just like all of your projects) Very well done.
thank you, man! so glad to see you here. I have to say, I've been so impressed with your projects. Wish you a happy new year 2018. keep up a good work.
Agreed! work of art with a very useful purpose! I look forward to seeing this tool used in Future '18 Calem vids!
Great build! Like your open design table, I had the same thought. I've been working on a variation of Jeremy's design as well. Like him it is taking me a long time! Their are so many belt grinders on YT but this design to me is really unique. As a group belt grinder design keeps getting pushed up a level!
Jeremy Schmidt i've seen yours. It is nicer even the design is similar. It is more proper look, like factory produced product.
your work beter.....
I just love the comments people make when they say “you stole that idea from so and so.” No, the minute a video is posted it is public and free to use for ones personal education or ideas on how to build it yourself. That’s what we call it sharing!😊 Even saying “I made this” isn’t a lie just because it’s someone else’s creation first, the fact remains that you DID build it yourself, we watched. It’s good to give credit where it’s due but please never fear the keyboard cowboys comments my friend. They’re just jealous they don’t have a skill set as vast as yours😉 Another great job too! Thanks for sharing✌🏼
thank you my friend!
well put. we all put flourishes on existing ideas. Its both and additive adn subtractive process. And did you see the guys home made vice! I looked up Calem vices before I realized he had made it himself!
Clever people out there.
Ha, just realized that vice is made of train track!
The nicest stand I've ever seen. The fake rivets make it super tough looking and old school. Well done sir!
finally somebody that takes his time to make something great from scratch (raw stock). love the details in your work.
thanks man!
Ca, you should receive the Nobel prize for creative and artistic machining!
Well designed and well built. These tools will last you a lifetime and serve you well.
I believe you have a very bright future.
Norman Bates thank you!
Good man for giving credit where it is due. I can't stand the number of people who copy someone else's work on here and claim it as their own.
That's a really nice stand you built for it. Excellent work as usual!
thank you man! happy new year 2018
I built two of these, following the original plans, but I think that the improvements made by you are magnificent. no matter who criticizes them, they are very good. congratulations!!
Interestingly, I watched Jeremy’s build first on the belt sander, though I have seen many of your machine restoration videos. You did a great job on this one as well. Thanks for sharing the video.
Молодой, но уже талантливый человек с золотыми руками!
Приятно даже смотреть за твоим творчеством! 👍
Nice mods to the original. Happy to see younger minds hard at work. Excellent.
Cà Lem, you bring a style that is all your own to your work. It makes every thing you do so fascinating and unique, and your craftsmanship is just outstanding. Bravo to another job well done!
thank you, mate! wish you a happy new year!
No surprise that Calem makes another dope build. This cat is good.
This is the first homemade belt iv ever seen work on a belt grinder fantastic job.
thats really cool for giving Jeremy the credit for the design... you are good people !!
Well done, young man! People use far too many thru bolts in their builds. Eliminate as many nuts and lock washers as possible! This build showed a lot of planing.
Very artistic build for the stand Ca Lem. Nice build of Jer's design on the grinder as well. Enjoy watching your videos a lot. Very inspiring.
Thanks for sharing.
truly inspiring theres nothing worse than watching people on youtube that have poor attention to detail and thats why your videos are a cut above the rest, yes it is just a tool but its a tool that will outlive its maker, well done you have raised the bar for videos of this genre
thank you, sir!
WOW!!!! That is one hot looking table / stand. You had me as I'm looking at all of the bolt drop's wondering just what the heck is this guy doing. Then the finial reveal, and all I could say is WOW!!!
lol. Thank you, man!
Just found your channel. You are a true "fab man" and an artist to boot. You got my subscription...there IS hope for mechanical ability in the world....Dave
Thank you so much, sir!
"I dont know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones - Albert Einstein" No hope at all right sir? what i did just stupid hobby. maybe next time i going to make something from dirt with woodstick :)))
Very nice work. Well done. You and others who do various projects like this build makes me want to try my hand at it one day. I have made tools although crude in comparison to level of workmanship I see produced by you and the others who do similar work. Jeremy is spot on in his evaluation, which is a very high compliment, for everyone who has posted here with one exception, ME has actually produced some very outstanding products. So I want to thank you and the whole community of u tubers who build repair invent restore repurpose so others may be encouraged and keep the art and skill of working with you hands alive.
Your welding is just rows of dimes, very very nice, a pleasure to see
A fantastic take on Jeremy's design! Inspiring.
thanks, man!
Very great craftsmanship, especially the base could also be placed in the living room. 👍👍👍
Great job. I like the handles, and the centering adjustment. That stand is amazing.
thanks, bro!
This appears to be the best belt grinder model. I've seen it also being built by another guy here on youtube. Would be good to hear what your lessons learned are. Many thanks and great video.
thank you, man!
Wow! Great stand Ca! You have an eye for artful fabrication that makess your roject as much art as tool. thank you for sharing!
Gratulálok a gép tervezőjének, és a kivitelezőnek is , igényesen kivitelezett, nagyon szép munka !
Video on how you made the quick adjust bolts would be amazing. Looks simple enough. Thread one end of a bolt. Drill a hole in that and thread that for the cross piece.
Good looking job and the extras make it look exceptional. Great job.
The belt grinder/sander turned out great, but that stand is freaking awesome dude. It is literally a work of art. It would fit right in someone’s living room as an end table. You are very talented.....
That, my friend, is a monstrously overbuilt mountain of metal. Perfect, in other words :-) Clyde
thank you, bro!
i definitely thought jeremys grinder looked well designed. dude, u are an artist in like every medium! love all ur videos, great job! and no, you did not waste ur time with the funny stop motion lol. keep up the good work!
actually im not sure it was design by Jeremy or not. i saw some knife makers in USA have exactly the same version of it. at first i felt a bit wrong to coppy someone's design but im just really like the way it work. thank you for watching, man. happpy new year!!!
Upvote for the credits at the beginning alone! Very good build.
thank you!
Very cool man. Best designed belt sander I’ve seen yet. Well done.
Guys like you make me wanna start my own channel! Awesome job
go ahead, man!
Seems like the square tube in tube approach worked out just fine. Nice fit-up and solid workmanship all around. Much simpler than the original solid square bar and welded receiver design too. Sure, one is much beefier, but I'll wager both get the job done and vibration probably isn't an issue. Like the DIY vice too. Very clever.
Thank you, friend! Real industrial stile 👍. Very nice.
This is a high level fabrication man. very well done ... brings me inspirations !
thanks, buddy!
Everything you do is brilliant young feller. Im 100% serious when i say this - you need to go to engineering school !! You are very talented.
Flat out awesome! What a mechanic you are😊👍
gees, thats amazing. easily the heaviest duty one ever made diy
You are so good. I was looking a way to make diy roller belts. Also very nice machine too.
I just watched this build , you Sir are an artist . fantastic piece of machinery .
Шикарный станок 💥👍🏻
A really great fabrication job young man. Extremely well done. Jeremy's is an engineering Rolls Royce while yours is a beast with muscle more suited to a pint, a cigar and a DIY workshop. Both great only difference is the price tag.
nifty1940 thank you, sir!
Wow fabulous design I love it. Tk for your video.
Really incredible work by a talented young man !
Great work. Really nice to see Jeremy's design being replicated. And minor modifications. It is awesome.
Awesome build and I really like the corner braces for your stand! The raw utilitarian look is great!
thank you!
Two times measure one time cut. Very nice work.
thanks!
Nice work Calem it looks great!!
thank you, sir!
Wow...its not only awesome... but a great n exellent creativity I've ever seen.... a good brain application... God bless you.
Can you describe or name the mechanism u used to get the table to pivot. Its exactly what I need. Awsome build bro!
fantastic build love the grinder and the table...
thank you, sir!
nice job Ca lem im mechanical engineer and i like this types of works i'm thinking about build like this machine ... best regards good luck my friend
Wicked build... well done
Ottimo progetto, mi piace la tecnica e molto anche lo stile. Mi hai dato delle belle idee!!
thanks, man!
I watched this clip many times. The best diy converting machine I have ever seen. I love it. Thanks for sharing, bro!
thank you, sir!
I think you need more tension on the sanding belt that's why it oscillates from side to side, anyway awesome job
Those little handles are absolutely skookum :)
thanks man!
I just love the stand and its decoration brilliant CaLem and as for the belt grinder that is soo well made. It's totally awesome!
Cooool !! Nice Projekt and a very cool Stand in Steampunk style :-)
Really great take on the belt grinder! Especially with the grinding platform and the manner in which you've made it adjustable. Very nice design.
This build turned out mint! awesome Job!
Шикарный станок!
Talent indeed, excellent work.
Love that old school industrial look. Nicely done! Thank You for sharing.
The Ayr Cave Shop thank you
Your creations are quite amazing!
Awesome... I need to build one in my shop now!!
You wouldn’t happen to have a parts list would you of the belt grinder?
thanks, man
Nice build!
Love how you cut up the domehead bolts just for the look
thank you!
very good and I love youre idea for the stand or table.
thanks man!
The extra rivet detail is awesome. Great video. : )
thanks man!
Good idea bracing your stand with tension rods, much less material required than compression which has to resist bowing. Should work with pipe too. Idea! Make heavy machinery stand with big pipe, then fill pipes with sand to damp vibration. Could possibly be done without welding. Does not have the panache of your work, though :). OTOH, though....
You are one hell of a fabricator.
Thank you, man!
That is a great stand. I should make one with my powertig welder for my belt sander
Un trabajo espectacular!!! Tanto la lijadora de banda como la mesa son increíbles, se me hizo muy muy corto el vídeo, saludos desde España
gracias
Cà Lem

😱 incredibly. you are an engineer.👍

mình cũng có những ý định làm những gì bạn làm ( cách 3-4 năm), bước đầu bạn trang bị tool, trong chờ các sản phẩm- trước chỉ xem clip của mấy men nước ngoài , đếch thấy Made in Viet Nam nào - Chúc mừng. Great job.
cảm ơn bác!
Love the corner brackets, nice touch! Always so creative, making everything special with your personal touch! Great job as always!👍
Parabéns um belo projeto de lixadeira 👍
Como eu consigo este projeto desta lixadeira ?
That's awesome! I try for years to built me one of these beltgrinders and you just did it in 11 minutes :)) Nicely done!
work + heart= work of art. awesome masterpiece
I wish I could give you 5 thumbs-ups on this video. I especially love the details you put into the base. First video I have seen of yours and I subscribed. Awesome work!

Beautiful work and nice video. And Jeremy's design and build is awesome, as well.

Best belt grinder stand that I have seen. Really love the ability to flip it all and the masive materials use. Now dont get me wrong. Is there any chance to get that plans for free? I really dont have money for plans, I have just started to make knives and belt grinder would really help me
Vladan Varenica unfortunately i dont have plans. I didnt work on plans.
wow you are fast. okay. thanks anyway for replying :)
Один из лучших гриндеров! Я бы тоже хотел такой сделать.
excellent work, very useful I'm ready to make one for my workshop to see if I stay the same even though I doubt that I stayed better than yours ha ha ha. Greetings from Chile.
Cesar :
Tiene Ud. a la mano la maquinaria que ha tenido Jeremy Schmidt a su disposicion para construir su lijadora...??
