    Dear John, I am a Rolfer in France, many thanks for this video and the many others. Does this technic apply to clients with rounded dorsals (kyphosis), i.e week rhomboids and mid traps and long erectors (dorsal) ?

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  3 года назад +8

      Thanks for the message and naturally all muscles will benefit from soft tissue treatment - I suggest if the patient has what you mentioned - increased kyphosis etc then the pectorals should be treated first to encourage a lengthening of these potentially tighter tissues, then some soft tissue techniques to the rhomboids without over lengthening, regards JG

      Not really as the position needs to be help for around 60-90 seconds to be classified as a PR technique, regards JG

    I've been having stiffness, tightness and tension in my trapezious and neck area for a month or so. 2 days ago I noticed it got worse. I don't know if it's from stress and my job or my workouts or whatever but I do know it's becoming very uncomfortable. I'm thinking I may need a chiropractor visit and an adjustment/massage. It's terrible feeling the tenseness all the time.

    I've been having muscle spasms in the thoracic area, particularly left side for 5 months now. It all started after doing some deadlifts and bench press one day. Lifting anything over 35 lbs in front of me or overhead, or bending forward makes it worse, I then get a tingling and electrical sensation down arms however, I feel it more in the left arm. I feel a dull ache between my scapula on the spine. And its accompanied with numbing in my pinky and ring finger. Doctor did and xray and spasms in neck and upper back. Then sent me for mri of thoracic spine and they found nothing. He said that I have tight rhomboids and should stretch them then sent me on my way. Any suggestions Mr. Gibbons?

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  3 года назад +7

      I doubt an Xray or MRI would find anything - I would see an Osteopath or Chiropractor to have some spinal adjustments to that area to see if it helps reduce your symptoms, regards JG
