@microsoftrock I mean Yiheng can beat almost any time. It doesn't seem to be an issue for him unless it is like sub-4.6
@microsoftrock wdym? He consistently outpreforms them. I mean it isn't even close. Their averages at home are barely his average in comp, and he doesn't go to a lot of comps compared to them. If somone consistently outperforms the competition that makes them better. All of these guys outperform me, thats why they are better than me. Idk what you don't understand here...
@microsoftrock You are looking at his few bad results and saying he is "the most inconsistent cuber". You have to realize that his one limitation is that at such a young age, he lacks experience, so in high-pressure situations, like Worlds or Monkey League, he has cracked because he lacks that experience. Tymon has done Monkey League for years and learned how to manage his nerves in high-pressure situations. Matty, although not as good as Tymon in this aspect of speedcubing, has also had so much growth in that area. But in China, there were many unofficial competitions, which familiarized him with the competition format. As a result, many Chinese cubers, including him, arose out of nowhere after the pandemic. That's when he got the world record average. Go look at the top 100 results for average? Yiheng has 38% of the top 100 official ao5s. Remember, he didn't go to as many comps as Tymon and Max until recently when China opened up more for comps, and Tymon and Max had averages from 2021 and 2022 that are within the mix of his averages. Meaning that nearly 50% of the official averages this year are by Yiheng. Do you really think "the most inconsistent cuber" takes up almost 50% of the WCA rankings this year?
@microsoftrockwhen matty wom against yiheng, what was Yiheng's median? Look at the top few averages and compare the number of sub 5 averages Yiheng has compared to others. When he lost worlds, he got a 5.32 average which was just 0.02 sec from winning. How is he even inconsistent?
@microsoftrockworlds was a fluke for yiheng, he has 9 averages in comp that are 4.86 or better and 8 sub 4 singles. Max only has 2 sub 4 singles and 1 average that is 4.86 or better.
Who would've thought like 40 years ago, when just knowing how to solve a cube was impressive, that in these days a 6 sec solve would be a bad solve😨

If you're against Yiheng, Mid/Low 4 range is beatable for him. Considering he has quite a few official averages withing the Mid 4 range.

The year is 2023, the name of the game is speedcubing, and low 5's just don't cut it anymore...
I think the finals should be a bo7 format since its the finals, and it really should be longer so that it depends more on skill and less on luck.

@@ashneel5203 the matches in the previous seasons were bo5 sets with bo7 sets for play offs and bo9 sets for finals. However in this season, normal matches are bo3 sets and play offs are bo5 sets so I would expect finals to be bo7 sets

OMG I’ve been waiting for this! Every day I check youtube hoping there’s another monkey league video 😂 Can’t wait to watch this rematch and see the results :) gonna grab the popcorn. (And avoid reading any comments in case there are spoliers)
Okay I’ve watched it. THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. My face was like :O the entire time.
Yiheng was so fast and smooth what on EARTH. Seeing so many 4 second solves and even a SUB 4 must be so nerve racking to go against - I’m not surprised Matty started falling apart so quickly.
I’ve been watching some of the older monkey league seasons whilst waiting for this, and I think it would be great if the semi finals could’ve been a best of 7 at least. And Definitely for the grand final. I think everyone agrees we prefer the longer matches, unless it’s like 45 mins long. And it even gives the competitors a chance to collect themselves if the nerves are getting to them, so they can make a strong comeback.

Didnt even watch it yet but I would like to express some frustration that on saturday when I checked the website to see when the semi-final were taking place prior to this being posted, the results were already shown and got spoiled for me. I really love this series but im really upset that I know the winner going into the video. In the future, please consider not posting results until the video is posted.

We still have to see if he practices it. I mean my OH tps is way faster than that, but can't be that hard on him since his hand size is a limitation. Its just hard to tell fight now.
