    Sounds like it was time to start knocking doors. Years ago I helped zerorez Denver get started. I was the lead tech with the two owners. We were act one hell of a upselling team. I owe them from showing me those skills I still use to this day.
    You might never see this but thank you Jason and Shane Karen for showing me the skills to basically make money on demand.

      Cool experience starting up a zerorez location man! We had fun starting up our franchise, and had some badass techs of our own. It was difficult at times but we grew to #1 rated in our city quickly as a team 💪

      @BookCleaningJobs Thank you! I just applied to a local company in my city to try and learn the business a bit more. I need to learn more about the chemical aspect, different type of carpet material, and looking at getting the eclipse portable to start my business once I feel I have enough knowledge. The company owner is debating if he should give me a shot due to the pay cut I'd be taking from my current position. I advised him I'm looking for the knowledge and to learn. Lots of barriers I need to overcome. Business name, getting Google verified, insurance, llc, plus getting the portable in and out of my truck is going to be an issue. Don't have the money yet for a trailer. A ramp from the tailgate is just going to be a nightmare. Lots of challenges, but I always figure something out. Never let it stop me. Once I saw your videos, I started watching all of them. Such great information and very inspiring and informative. Seriously thank you!

    I like to know the name of the Franchise you referring to? Also do you recommend the franchise route.?

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  Год назад

      I don't recommend franchising for most people.
      I wasted a lot of money buying a franchise, when I could have 1) paid for a training class 2) done a ride along with another cleaner 3) worked at another cleaning company and learned the ropes or 4) just started the company and learned on the job.
      Skip the franchise, buy some equipment, and start booking jobs. You'll make (and keep) money quicker.

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  Год назад

      Don't want to share the name of the franchise here, because I don't want folks to think I'm badmouthing them specifically. Franchising just wasn't for me! And I don't think most cleaners should buy a franchise either. They are unnecessary middle-men. If they aren't bringing you jobs, then why are they getting paid? ;)

    Thank for this honest download of information. I got a lot out of it for sure. One question, did you charge by the square foot or by the room?

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  Год назад +1

      I wanted to give people quotes as quickly as possible. So we charged by the room, and gave pretty firm quotes over the phone based on # of rooms, halls, and staircases. That made it dead simple to give somebody a price when they called.
      Lots of other cleaners charge by the square foot, but we had success with per room pricing between $33-$50 per room. These days I would probably charge more like $40-$75 per room because costs have gone up.
      Thanks for watching!

    Any advice on advertising to growing Carpet business .. I am going back in business.. I haven’t been in business since 2016

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  Год назад +1

      If you're getting back into business, I'll assume you are starting fresh with no marketing assets.
      I would recommend doing everything in the Carpet Cleaning Marketing Cheatsheet bookcleaningjobs.com/cheatsheet starting at the beginning and working your way to the end. Download a copy then read below...
      Here's step-by-step what I would do:
      - Register your business, get insurance
      - Create a Google Business Profile (requires verification), Yelp page, Facebook page, and a website
      - Fill those out with all your biz info, upload photos and videos
      - Then start some sort of "pound the pavement" marketing to bring in your first customers
      - Work your network of friends & family, acquaintances, then start working your neighborhood groups on Facebook and Nextdoor
      - You may want to try door hangers, door knocking, direct mail to a couple of target neighborhoods
      - Try cold calling property managers, dentists offices, daycares, etc. Anywhere with carpet. Offer to do a free demo & provide an estimate
      - Once you get your first few jobs, make sure you take before/after photos and ask everyone for a Google review
      - Before you leave, hand them a handful of biz cards and ask them to refer you to their friends, family, and neighbors. Or to post in their neighborhood group about the service they received
      - Post the photos and reviews on all of your profiles, social media, and website
      - Once you have 3 Google reviews, apply to become Google Guaranteed so you can access pay-per-call ads and book more jobs
      - Then work on improving your website with better text, images, calls to action, SEO, and analytics to track your progress
      - Once you start to consistently get booked out a couple of days, I would start a Google Ads campaign and let it run at a budget you're comfortable with 12 months out of the year
      - Follow up with your customers and ask them for referrals
      - Ask them to come back 6 months & 11 months after you've cleaned for them. Call, text, email, or send them a postcard. Or do all of those things
      I can't guarantee your success, but this is the exact framework I would use to get started again today.
      Hope that helps,
      Reuben @ BookCleaningJobs

    Which carpet cleaning franchise did you buy?

      I don’t like to give them free promotion, so not mentioning them by name. It’s a low moisture franchise

    So I changed my phone number on google profile and got flagged by google. Spent 3 weeks emailing all kinds of proof to show I’m legit business but still keep getting denied with a stupid standard email saying it’s not following their guidelines. They told me it could be my phone number being associated with a different business which I did have before. So I updated it and resubmitted and it still got denied. Any advise ?

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  Год назад

      There are a lot of reasons why Google might suspend a profile and refuse to reinstate it. We've dealt with a lot of these issues this year. If your phone number is associated with another business, that could definitely be the problem. But if you updated the phone number and didn't get reinstated, then it is probably something else. Could be your address (hide it if you use your home address), service area could be too large, or could be something else entirely. Good luck! Hope you are able to figure it out quickly

    • @AmazingAndre

      @@BookCleaningJobs got it back. I think the number I changed it they figured out was a virtual number. Even though T-Mobile said it’s a real number but only way to use it is through an app. Anyway changed it to an actual phone number again and it worked

    what do you charge for carpet cleaning?

    • @BookCleaningJobs
      @BookCleaningJobs  10 месяцев назад +1

      I sold my biz a couple years ago. Our average ticket was $290. We did 3 rooms for $120, but most of our customers had bigger houses in the burbs. So typical job was like 5 rooms, hall, stairs for ~$300
