Because if you think about it, not only is it capable of rotting away the ground for quick escapes but you can use it to age up living beings and potentially ripen crops in large quantities. Yeah, this is something I'd genuinely like a legitimate answer about, personally, tbh. Do devil fruits actually have innate limitations to what you can potentially do with their powers, are is it simply a lack of creativity and imagination on the part of the user? Because there's so many fruits that have absolutely absurd potential, especially with stuff like logias, that... just end up being really "meh". There's a LOT of fruits that should honestly be way, WAY stronger than they are, and even a few that should probably be weaker than they are, and some of these are ones that realistically should've simply been something that their users took a couple months to research how that elemental ability can function, like Ace's fire - There's so many things you can do with what is essentially the ability of heat, that it's honestly kind of one of the stronger of the more straightforward fruits, and definitely among the most overall "useful" outside of combat.
I think an honorable mention should be given to the Mira Mira no Mi (Mirror Mirror Fruit) used by Charlotte Brûlée. Its power is comparable to the Doa Doa no Mi in that it gives you access to an Mirror Dimension that, for whatever reason, is very destructible. It's also worth noting that the Mira Mira no Mi may not have a set distance but the Doa Doa no Mi might, simply because it would have been much faster to use that to take Robin to Enies Lobby than to take a train. So either the Doa Doa no Mi has a set distance or a maximum occupancy of 1. The Mirror Dimension, however, has seemingly no upper limit to who can be inside and it seems to link to potentially every mirror in the entire world. And, to top it off, it can also transfer the look of someone or something and put it on another thing.

On the subject of underrated devil fruits, no one can convince me that morias kage-kage no mi isn't one of the most stupidly broken powers you could have on your crew. Moria was already using it fairly okay, but i think it has just so much hidden potential that people don't see: 1. It is not a fruit to become a one-man-army like mythical zoans, but a supportive fruit. This aspect is shown far too little in the storyline but imagine a crew like the Rocks pirates, but instead of letting all the monsters fight, you just have one of them willingly give their shadow to another and that one becomes unstoppable. 2. If you manage to win a fight and or sneakily manage to steal a shadow somehow, that person can be as strong as they want, they cannot get into sunlight. 3. Possible awakening option (this can be said about every devil fruit tho) 4. Everything up to this point is not even considering the beauty of Doppelman, which is not only another support/combat assistance, but is also an insane scouting option for enemies. And that is just off the top of my head, of course without any confirmation from Oda, but just the thought of what the fruit could've been.
But doppleman is not just that, because you can manipulate it to become something else maybe I giant sword that can just float around, indestructible armor, or even a teleportation "device"
I am doing a One Piece rpg (set 80 years in the past) and I gave the Kage Kage no Mi to an Admiral for the very reasons you listed : it's insanely underrated. Imagine an Admiral coming with two Vice Admirals during a night attack, taking the shadow of one and giving it to the other and vice versa so they're both basically twice as strong whilst he can basically stretch his own body to ridiculous degrees, seemingly teleport at random, use a pseudo stand etc This fruit is pretty ridiculous and not enough people give it the credit it deserves
Yep the doppleman doubls as teleportation/protection device too. An you can trap people, even create zombis, and thats to sy nothing of th detructic capabilities it shows, he can ue shadows to popwer up, and as canonfodder.
I know at varying points in my life the fruits of either Robin or Kanjuro since the multiple limbs or bringing drawings to life would be fun/useful. Even Mont d'Or's fruit would be fun for reading.
The desire for Viola's devil power could be described as the desire for the "strongest/best eyes". It was probably someone with little or no Eyesight. The Person probably got more than what was asked for. I thought you wanted strong Eyes, now you can use them to Fight.

As simple as it may be in terms of “creativity,” Enel’s mastery of his fruit was probably the closest thing to an awakened d.f. we got to witness until we actually got a confirmed awakened d.f. user. If you had the Doa Doa No Mi, wouldn't that make you basically the best sniper/assassin in One Piece? The user would be able to be at any place basically undetected.
Even just assassination in general, you could just appear behind someone and take them out (provided opening the door doesn't make too much noise), and maybe even throw bodies that need to be hidden inside the door dimension. No amount of security can stop you if you have this fruit, and in my opinion it outclasses the Suke Suke no mi in nearly every way
Honestly, ultimate assassin squad. Door fruit, Silence fruit, Clairvoyance fruit. Go anywhere, completely silently, while being able to know exactly where anyone is. Can add the invisibility one in too honestly. The true CP9/0. People just disappear without a trace. No one knows what happened. Absolutely no chance of being caught. Combine it with Sugar's ability to make people forget they even existed? Yeah. You now rule the world basically.
Ever since the revelation of Sengoku's fruit, the Hito Hito no mi is definitely the most broken. If you can create a fruit based off of anyone (a Buddha, Nika) then you can do some pretty outrageous things. Imagine a Herakles (Hercules) fruit. Or an Amerterasu fruit. An Odin fruit? What about super famous contemporaries, if they're able to recreate the fruit process. Imagine a Vegapunk fruit with all his knowledge (even if it was gained via another fruit). The hito hito no mi broke the game.

okay you make some points about op devilfruits but what if (and hear me out) these devilfruits only have so many abilitys because of past users? it could be possible that every time someone awakens a fruit their dream gets imbued into the fruit. for example: maybe, when katakuri awakened his fruit he wanted it to work more like a logia and so it did. and we have seen, that momo had the power of a dragon from a start so maybe the fruit vegapunk copied inherited the dream of the person who had awoken it. so devilfruits with multiple powers might just be enhanced versions based of how often they have been awoken and by whoom with what dreams. (just made this theory up maybee it needs some work)
That's such a cool idea. The thought that an awakening is basically just the fruit user getting to add another layer of ideas to their fruit. It would explain things like why Lucci and Kaku have such similar awakenings. One of them got there, and the other went "yeah, I also wanna do that."

Like where they wanting to do everything Doffy does with it or was it simpler like making string so strong that power characters can't cut it so they can use it to make clothes and such. The Bari Bari no mi is just so underrated. Sure it's more of a defensive fruit and has alot of counters but the barriers are unbreakable. You could trap someone in a barrier box and they wouldn't be able to break out. Not even Kaido! The Fruit has so many capabilities that we don't realize.
Idk about unbreakable anymore. U can undo fruit effects with haki, which would probably include breaking the barrier with string enough Haki like kaido
The Hobi Hobi no mi can be easily explained by the wish of a Kid of "Playing forever". Lots of stories uses that troop of a small child that doesnt wanna grow up (Doesnt age) and wants to play with friends for all eternity.

I like how the guy with the magnetism fruit is an ultraviolent, murdering psycho who was smart enough to understand how magnetism works and came up with probably the first railgun. He doesnt use his powers to solve energy crises or scientic innovation or even utilitarian practicality; nope. Use magnets to fire projectiles at mach 10 and make giant bulls out of swords and guns. I really want to see Teach get a paramecia DF that is able to cancel out all types of Haki. If DF are able to manifest from a person's will and teach isn't able to use haki then it would make sense why he is encountering top tier haki users across the show. Just a thought
Big Mom's soul-soul fruit would be a contender for me. The ability to suck out the literal life-force of others, split your own soul into powerful inanimate objects, create living beings from said life-force stuff, grant immunity from certain attacks based on the elements you choose etc...also potentially one of the only DF's that could possibly grant immortality if awakened in a certain way. My own theory, but hey I can dream lol.
I still have trouble wrapping my head around just how anyone could even dream up a Dark-Dark Fruit. It feels like such a complete antithesis of the entire concept. Whoever brought it up had to be a miserable individual indeed.

For Tsuru’s fruit, rather than someone wanting to BE laundry, i interpretted as someone wanting the abstract ability to “cleanse and rehibilitate evil” and one piece whackiness made it the woshu-woshu no mi. Sinilar idea for the jacket fruit, with a physically weak person envious of the physiques of others.

FINALLY someone recognising Noro Noro no mi, I am commenting on so many df related videos. Foxy's df is the closest power that is stopping time (I know it slows down not stops). That power is busted in any decent fighter. Imagine standing still for 30 seconds in front of Mihawk, Shanks or Garp as an opponent 🥶.
I am assuming that devil fruits have evolved over time by every subsequent users understanding of the fruits capabilities and the users own creativity. For example, the original user of the Yami Yami could've wished just to be able to create darkness (probably to do nefarious things). The ill will passed along as inherited will within the fruit, with the next users creativity thinking that darkness sucks things in, than builds on that original power. Each subsequent user has a chance to build upon and evolve their fruit through their own creativity. Just a thought.
If a user isn't creative or if a fruit is pretty obvious there probably isn't much room for evolution. Or do we just think that all of the powers are built into the fruit from the initial users wish?

Actually, Sugar's Devil Fruit make sense. A child wanted to stay young forever and have every toy they want anytime so much that it literally manifested as a devil fruit.
You could also think about the origin of devil fruits being why King and Queen's dino fruits aren't accurate to realistic dinos. like when queen turns into a snake or king rubber bands his head. This could be because the people of the world of one piece not having a complete understanding of dinosaurs which means that their wishes to become dinos lead to a transformation different to what we'd recognise as classical dinosaurs
I interpret this as multiple people having the dame desire/ wish. Like the slaves wishing for a savior they have same wish but the form is different. Thats why the devil fruit that is born from that may have varying abilities
And they're might be something to say for when he told his dream to the select few, they either laughed or criticized him saying how that "seems impossible" however if creating devil fruits in gear5 is possible, that would mean he's actually able to achieve his dream if he thought about it.

Jinbe and kaido had their place in the world during 8-would help sanji relate to someone about transhumanism. the whole 500+ chapter we waited for them to really take part in the story. Weevil is being planted early by force to have a glimpse at our future straw. Maybe the story is so tragic, re-reading one piece means seeing our boy weedle trapped. idk 8-To me it would just be right, its a new way of talking about technological advancement, finding your place in the world and following your own dreams. Also Oda would not write an encounter between two very strong people who really love white beard, and luffy wouldn't punish him for having that manipulated life. This is what I love about devil fruit abilities, it doesn’t really matter what power you get but how creative you can be with it. Thus powers that seem weird or useless can become amazing if you have the imagination to expand upon it.

My personal theory about devil fruits is that they are all man made, and the first ones were zoan fruits. The theory goes that the reason Zoan fruits have a will of their own is because they were made with the souls of the creatures they represent. Thus by this theory Nika would have come first, and in order to preserve his will he turned his soul into a devil fruit. After that it was a slippery slope, they just started making anything they could into devil fruits.
I think in the future chapters we may see a fight between Garp and Blackbeard. There's a possibility of kuzan betraying blackbeard during his fight against Garp with the motive of saving koby. Who knows maybe Kuzan is the leader of Sword.
So I recently come across a non-canon DF that I'm really interested in and kinda want it in the OP canon as like one of the last and most powerful DF introduced. The problem with why it's not canon is because it's too much like the Clone Clone Fruit where it's able copy a person's mannerisms and looks. However, I have redesigned it and want to know what you all think, whether it should be in the OP canon, and what kind of character should have this power? The Kopi Kopi no Mi (Copy Copy Fruit): Special Paramecia-Type Powers - Allows the user to copy the moves and abilities of others (including other DF powers) simply by looking at them and seeing all the Fruit's potential (kinda like Kakashi from Naruto). The copied ability then becomes a permanent part of their body. Limits - 1. Standard DF weakness along with the weakness of the copied Fruits 2. The physical stamina of the user stays the same no matter what DF they copy. Even if they can do Luffy's Gum Gum Pistol for example, it would't have the same force behind it if their bodies are built differently. Even if they copy a Zoan's power like Rob Lucci, their power is only increase by their already existing stamina. 3. Like Ben 10, the user has to consciously switch between each power at all times. They don'y have access to all of them at once (That's an Awakened ability). 4. While user can use more than one power for an attack (as a way to make-up for the stamina between them and their opponent), this causes a lot of strain on their bodies and if they overexert themselves, they will be rendered unable to move
I feel like the fruit is brought about by dreams, but the techniques are all dreamt up by the user. The better the imagination, or day-dreaming, then the wide variety of uses for the fruit.

We need to talk about the paw paw fruit. We’ve seen Kuma “pop” people away with them, which indicates incredible speed, but this really doesn’t seem to be the case. If people really are “flying for days” either they are moving incredibly slow or they are temporarily launched into orbit. Recent chapters in conjunction with him splitting the strawhats seems to indicate he can’t go over the Red Line. Zoro is the only one who’s island hasn’t been confirmed where it is, the rest were all on the same side of the red line.
Control over atoms would be pretty bonkers, imagine splitting an atom into someone's face, or changing the structure of the air into a solid wall of diamonds in order to block some incoming attack
Noro Noro no Mi awakening might be casting "Room" that can stopped time completely making him One Piece's version of Dio, or doing reverse, making himself works faster in the flow of time, making him One Piece's version of Pucci

On the subject of underrated devil fruits, no one can convince me that morias kage-kage no mi isn't one of the most stupidly broken powers you could have on your crew.
Moria was already using it fairly okay, but i think it has just so much hidden potential that people don't see:
1. It is not a fruit to become a one-man-army like mythical zoans, but a supportive fruit. This aspect is shown far too little in the storyline but imagine a crew like the Rocks pirates, but instead of letting all the monsters fight, you just have one of them willingly give their shadow to another and that one becomes unstoppable.
2. If you manage to win a fight and or sneakily manage to steal a shadow somehow, that person can be as strong as they want, they cannot get into sunlight.
3. Possible awakening option (this can be said about every devil fruit tho)
4. Everything up to this point is not even considering the beauty of Doppelman, which is not only another support/combat assistance, but is also an insane scouting option for enemies.
And that is just off the top of my head, of course without any confirmation from Oda, but just the thought of what the fruit could've been.

I am doing a One Piece rpg (set 80 years in the past) and I gave the Kage Kage no Mi to an Admiral for the very reasons you listed : it's insanely underrated.
Imagine an Admiral coming with two Vice Admirals during a night attack, taking the shadow of one and giving it to the other and vice versa so they're both basically twice as strong whilst he can basically stretch his own body to ridiculous degrees, seemingly teleport at random, use a pseudo stand etc

As simple as it may be in terms of “creativity,” Enel’s mastery of his fruit was probably the closest thing to an awakened d.f. we got to witness until we actually got a confirmed awakened d.f. user. If you had the Doa Doa No Mi, wouldn't that make you basically the best sniper/assassin in One Piece? The user would be able to be at any place basically undetected.
Even just assassination in general, you could just appear behind someone and take them out (provided opening the door doesn't make too much noise), and maybe even throw bodies that need to be hidden inside the door dimension. No amount of security can stop you if you have this fruit, and in my opinion it outclasses the Suke Suke no mi in nearly every way

Ever since the revelation of Sengoku's fruit, the Hito Hito no mi is definitely the most broken. If you can create a fruit based off of anyone (a Buddha, Nika) then you can do some pretty outrageous things. Imagine a Herakles (Hercules) fruit. Or an Amerterasu fruit. An Odin fruit? What about super famous contemporaries, if they're able to recreate the fruit process. Imagine a Vegapunk fruit with all his knowledge (even if it was gained via another fruit). The hito hito no mi broke the game.

okay you make some points about op devilfruits but what if (and hear me out) these devilfruits only have so many abilitys because of past users? it could be possible that every time someone awakens a fruit their dream gets imbued into the fruit. for example: maybe, when katakuri awakened his fruit he wanted it to work more like a logia and so it did. and we have seen, that momo had the power of a dragon from a start so maybe the fruit vegapunk copied inherited the dream of the person who had awoken it. so devilfruits with multiple powers might just be enhanced versions based of how often they have been awoken and by whoom with what dreams. (just made this theory up maybee it needs some work)
That's such a cool idea. The thought that an awakening is basically just the fruit user getting to add another layer of ideas to their fruit. It would explain things like why Lucci and Kaku have such similar awakenings. One of them got there, and the other went "yeah, I also wanna do that."

This video made me realise how perfect the book book fruit would be for me. I want to become a writer so a devil fruit allowing me to bring fictional worlds to life would be a ton of fun.
The person who came up with the Ito Ito no mi was either a made person or just like the idea of making really good clothing. Like where they wanting to do everything Doffy does with it or was it simpler like making string so strong that power characters can't cut it so they can use it to make clothes and such. I mean, I can't blame someone for wanting to Spiderman on clouds.
The Bari Bari no mi is just so underrated. Sure it's more of a defensive fruit and has alot of counters but the barriers are unbreakable. You could trap someone in a barrier box and they wouldn't be able to break out. Not even Kaido! The Fruit has so many capabilities that we don't realize.

The Hobi Hobi no mi can be easily explained by the wish of a Kid of "Playing forever".

I really want to see Teach get a paramecia DF that is able to cancel out all types of Haki. If DF are able to manifest from a person's will and teach isn't able to use haki then it would make sense why he is encountering top tier haki users across the show. Just a thought
Big Mom's soul-soul fruit would be a contender for me. The ability to suck out the literal life-force of others, split your own soul into powerful inanimate objects, create living beings from said life-force stuff, grant immunity from certain attacks based on the elements you choose etc...also potentially one of the only DF's that could possibly grant immortality if awakened in a certain way. My own theory, but hey I can dream lol.

FINALLY someone recognising Noro Noro no mi, I am commenting on so many df related videos. Foxy's df is the closest power that is stopping time (I know it slows down not stops). That power is busted in any decent fighter. Imagine standing still for 30 seconds in front of Mihawk, Shanks or Garp as an opponent 🥶.
I am assuming that devil fruits have evolved over time by every subsequent users understanding of the fruits capabilities and the users own creativity. For example, the original user of the Yami Yami could've wished just to be able to create darkness (probably to do nefarious things). The ill will passed along as inherited will within the fruit, with the next users creativity thinking that darkness sucks things in, than builds on that original power. Each subsequent user has a chance to build upon and evolve their fruit through their own creativity. Just a thought.
If a user isn't creative or if a fruit is pretty obvious there probably isn't much room for evolution. Or do we just think that all of the powers are built into the fruit from the initial users wish?

Actually, Sugar's Devil Fruit make sense. A child wanted to stay young forever and have every toy they want anytime so much that it literally manifested as a devil fruit.
You could also think about the origin of devil fruits being why King and Queen's dino fruits aren't accurate to realistic dinos. like when queen turns into a snake or king rubber bands his head. This could be because the people of the world of one piece not having a complete understanding of dinosaurs which means that their wishes to become dinos lead to a transformation different to what we'd recognise as classical dinosaurs

My personal theory about devil fruits is that they are all man made, and the first ones were zoan fruits. The theory goes that the reason Zoan fruits have a will of their own is because they were made with the souls of the creatures they represent. Thus by this theory Nika would have come first, and in order to preserve his will he turned his soul into a devil fruit. After that it was a slippery slope, they just started making anything they could into devil fruits.
I think in the future chapters we may see a fight between Garp and Blackbeard. There's a possibility of kuzan betraying blackbeard during his fight against Garp with the motive of saving koby. Who knows maybe Kuzan is the leader of Sword.
So I recently come across a non-canon DF that I'm really interested in and kinda want it in the OP canon as like one of the last and most powerful DF introduced. The problem with why it's not canon is because it's too much like the Clone Clone Fruit where it's able copy a person's mannerisms and looks. However, I have redesigned it and want to know what you all think, whether it should be in the OP canon, and what kind of character should have this power?
The Kopi Kopi no Mi (Copy Copy Fruit): Special Paramecia-Type
Powers - Allows the user to copy the moves and abilities of others (including other DF powers) simply by looking at them and seeing all the Fruit's potential (kinda like Kakashi from Naruto). The copied ability then becomes a permanent part of their body.
Limits - 1. Standard DF weakness along with the weakness of the copied Fruits
2. The physical stamina of the user stays the same no matter what DF they copy. Even if they can do Luffy's Gum Gum Pistol for example, it would't have the same force behind it if their bodies are built differently. Even if they copy a Zoan's power like Rob Lucci, their power is only increase by their already existing stamina.
3. Like Ben 10, the user has to consciously switch between each power at all times. They don'y have access to all of them at once (That's an Awakened ability).
4. While user can use more than one power for an attack (as a way to make-up for the stamina between them and their opponent), this causes a lot of strain on their bodies and if they overexert themselves, they will be rendered unable to move

We need to talk about the paw paw fruit. We’ve seen Kuma “pop” people away with them, which indicates incredible speed, but this really doesn’t seem to be the case. If people really are “flying for days” either they are moving incredibly slow or they are temporarily launched into orbit. Recent chapters in conjunction with him splitting the strawhats seems to indicate he can’t go over the Red Line. Zoro is the only one who’s island hasn’t been confirmed where it is, the rest were all on the same side of the red line.
