the problem is that the end of main clicks are not rounded like in the ec series, i rest/overlap my fingers in that curve so the razer, glorious or other ec clones are to sharp at the edge of the buttons for me
I have giant hands and I'm getting old at 35 so I need the ergo shape. This mouse is so god damn perfect. Absolutely love this thing. Still think it's overpriced but it is what it is.
Personally I dig the flares. The one of the left doesn’t get in the way for almost any grip since your thumb doesn’t rest that far forward on the side. The one on the right they flattened out the under side so it’s not uncomfortable like it looks like it is on paper. I also find having the right side curve outward like that just wraps my fingers in a comfortable way for my palm/relaxed fingertip grip. I definitely do wish they would “round” the shell where the front flair/side panel meets the shell panel under the clicks similar to how the Zowie EC2 does since right now the flair is very “sharp” and a hard edge where it meets the front panel/shell part under the clicks. I really like how it feels topside because I have very wide hands and find most mice just are too narrow unless I claw them (not my preferred grip). With the classic DA shape my thick boy finger have plenty of room to relax, it’s very comfortable to me. I own the Elite, V2, and now the V3 and the V3 just isn’t for me - it’s a totally different shape. To each their own and all that, a lot of people seem to really love the changes. I think in a vacuum it’s a great mouse but it’s no DeathAdder. I think the V3 changes are for people that never liked the classic DA shape rather than for people that do - they should’ve branded it under a different name imo.
@@baremangus3576 yeah, it’s a completely different shape. They should’ve called it something different imo. It’s good, really good even but it’s not a DeathAdder as you say.
Awesome mouse, always wanted a lighter, less "flared" deathadder. But really, I just don't think ANY mouse is worth $150, considering the wired V2 I bought was $37 dollars. Maybe it will come down in price for Christmas.
@@fraizie6815 Bluetooth sure, but it's performance oriented for low weight and bluetooth is extra weight. It's aimed at gamers looking for the best in terms of fps and those right-hand sidebuttons were getting in the way for that
Something I also noticed owning both the model D Wireless and DAv3, the sides of the deathadder are more straight whereas on the model d the sides sort of curve in where you can rest your fingers Also got the DAv3 with the student discount for $160 CAD ($125 USD), an awesome upgrade over the D Wireless which just felt cheap
I'm switching from the Model D as well, but because both copies that I had the side and dpi buttons just randomly stopped working after a few days. I've always been more of a Ergo mice due to my hand size @19-10cm which is average but too many sym mice just feel too small in my hands or I can't grip them how I want. Which is palm or relaxed claw, can't wait to get my hands on this as my backup mouse currently is the G703 wireless which is good, but that double click bro
Razer should make a deathadder v3 mini wired version and wireless version (deathadder v3 shape but dimensions of the deathadder v2 mini). And yes i love the da v2 mini it’s perfect for my handsize 17x10 and gripstyle of relax claw
i literally got the viper v2 pro today at the new razer store in san diego and since it was their grand opening they were doing a BOGO 50% off, i was debating to get the Deathadder V3 pro so i opened up your channel, saw the new video's thumbnail, noticed the seal of approval and copped the mouse. thank you
if only they made a mini of this i’d buy it in a heartbeat, currently maining the Model D- wireless, I want better battery life and wireless tech. the Dav3 has both of them but its too big for me.
This mouse feels SO GOOD in the hand. Ergo for the win. I slapped the grips on it, and it's something else entirely. Moving from the Model O Wireless to this makes me regret all the gaming I did in the last two years on the O. Oof.....let's GO! Also, those skates on the stock DAv3 are STELLAR.
Understandable, bud. It took a little arm twisting myself. However, it's leaps and bounds better than the ModelO and I'd absolutely recommend making the jump, fwiw.
I really liked the classic deathadder shape but I wish it was like a few millimeters shorter on the middle hump. it kinda forces you into a palm grip. I like how wide it is though. my corsair harpoon was a bit too narrow and forces you into fingertipping the sides.
Man I just picked up one of these and I instantly fell in love with it! I loved my Superlight 2 but the shape on this thing is like it was molded especially for my hand!
Any1 that has bigger hands I highly recommend this. Mine aren't massive, but I'm 6'2 so they're bigger. The GPX always felt awkwardly small for me and I thought it was just me. But since I've gotten this mouse my aim feels so good again.
got an xlite recently and i am more than happy with it. the side buttons dont really matter to me. after breaking the ones on my ecb in 1 year or so(weapon switch), i trained myself using the keyboard instead. currently, i don't think i can justify the upgrade to the dav3. i much rather save up for a new cpu or a better screen, but it's nice to see a good wireless implementation of an ergo. i switched from the viper mini and an ergo just feels so much better in my large hands. consistency, accuracy in flicks and a more relaxed claw really improved my gameplay. idk, but for me at least, smaller was not better by any stretch. fatigue set in way too early and the low profile just made me grip the mini way too hard at the end of a long session. i can't say it was a bad mouse whatsoever, but cramping up on the tiny mouse to get better grip just wasn't worth it. i am wondering when they bring out a wireless clone of the zaunkönig mk2. i am very interested in trying a finger tip mouse, just for the heck of it.
i have an xlite v2 and might return it to get the mini version & get a viper v2 pro for a full size mouse. i love the xlite its an amazing mouse and dont think iam changing it any time soon. the sensor and the quality of it is really good.
@@xnmr1 i ran into double clicking issues when i set debounce time lower than 4ms and it pisses me off, tbh. other than that it's still fairly decent though. i am saving up for a viper v2 pro now as well. i want my optical clicks back and something i can fingertip/claw. gonna keep the xlight though and run them side by side for a long while. just to make sure i am going in the right direction with the shape this time.
@@glashausAimz2 iyeah man the xlite is great its even being recommended by esport pros (not sponsored or anyth). I tried the viper and man it was such an insane mouse loved it so much idk what it is about it but it suits me so well but couldn't afford the viper ultimate so i returned it and got the xlite v2. And now the viper v2 pro just dropped so im just gonna go for that and pair it my xlite v2 mini and have those two together to use.
Currently on an Xlite v1 and while I like it, Pulsar and their support has burned me multiple times. So pretty much as soon as the DAV3 is cheap enough I'm gonna get one. I think outside of not having bluetooth it's literally my perfect mouse lol, fixes pretty much everything wrong with my xlite (especially on the software features front).
This mouse has made it impossible for me to go back to the viper, and I'm very sad about that. I was so excited to use the viper v2 pro as my endgame. Decided to try this for funsies. Now I can't go back. The shape is just too good. The scroll wheel and side buttons are also much better than the viper, but I enjoy the mouse clicks and weight on the viper much more. Maybe I'll just keep both just in case.
Your reviews are awesome, keep up! This mouse makes me wanna try it but the price is not very attractive, especially when you already own an expensive superlight
@@VVSPRINCE is it as comfortable As the superlight. I already have a Super light but it’s getting old and worn and need a new mouse for Fortnite but idk which one to get another GPX or Deathadder V3 pro
@@vaxyyfn4528 if you use claw, the dav3 is very comfortable as long as you have large hands. the weight is balanced perfectly and the quality is easily better than the gpx. it’s fickle though, as in, the mouse either fits like a glove or it isn’t as comfortable as you’d think. so if you can, try to test out a display model at best buy if possible before committing. if you like the feel in hand then absolutely it’s worth buying over an outdated gpx.
can't wait for a mini version. i have small hands and i have never tried medium sized ergo mice due to availability reasons so i can only hope the mini version will suit me well.
I prefer glossy plastic. After putting in 4 hours of diy rubbing with a rag and 99% ipa on my old G305, I get far better grip on the glossy plastic more so than matte plastic on my RVU. I end up wiping my RVU more often than I do with my glossy G305. I hope there are natural glossy plastic mice in the future.
If you were a betting man boardzy… With this release of the DA V3, will this ignite something in Logitech to get them to release a g703 SL? The shape is too unique and too good for Palm/ claw for me to use anything else
What, if any difference is the top right side to the glorious model d. I have my fingers flat at the top almost like a 1-3-1 but my ring finger is slightly off the mouse 2. With the glorious mouse shape it obstructs allowing me to hit mb2 and the feeling of the button hitting my finger is terrible. Kind of like the mm711 if you get where I am going
Yeah the opticals do feel really good, fast and bouncy, but they have a bit more pretravel than the clicks on my viper v2 pro. So id say they could feel slightly better but definitely not meh/mediocre
Razer is the best brand after trying lots. Top specs, sleek and not that expensive. I use dav3 and deathstalker v2 pro tkl or huntsman v3 pro analog tkl depending on the game. Love razer!
Loving mine. curious if you still are preferring this DAV3 shape over the Viper V2 for claw grip? I keep going back and forth between the 2. I have very similar size hands as you, 21cm x 10.5cm
Just got one for myself build quality seems cheap but I’m not sure if it’s the material or just due to it being light weight like the clicks and buttons feel nice but the rest seems cheap idk if I’m the only one with this take but so far I’m enjoying the actual functionality of it
just went to charge mine for the first time and didnt realize i was so spoiled by logitech that the wireless cable would turn into the charging cable. now looking for a usbc cable that will def not feel good at all to use while playing because the razer dongle doesnt turn into the charging cable...
I used to always play deathadders, because I have wide hands. I just bought a superlight 6 months ago. I really like the weight and lack of pretravel but it hurts my hands. I think I will get this and mod the switches for less pretravel.
The first deathadder I bought was the essential 2 I think and I’ve used that for about two years but I’m running into a problem where I have dug put a thumb groove and while it fits my hand perfectly it also makes me look like a cave gremlin and I’m growing tired of the wired design now that I’m more comfortable with the shape I’ll be picking one of these up
not sure to get the DAV3PRO or the VV2PRO? curently using the Viper ultimate, im ok with the shape but its not the most comfortable, i dont want a superlight not becuase of the shape, not sure which mouse to go with. Is the DAV3PRO good for fast mouse swings and picking it up etc, i have lots of control with the viper becuase of the shape, its just not that comforatbale.

Hey boardz, hope you can answer me. So one issue I had with the old Deathadder was it split my index and middle finger to far apart giving me extreme finger pain. Don't have the largest hands. Would I with the new shape be able to hold them closer to each other.
da v3 pro vs the basilisk v3/ultimate? which is more ergo and comfy to hold? Could you also review the upcoming basilisk v3 pro ? and compare it with the Da v3 pro?

@@vocalstv2442 yup, I'm waiting for the xlite v3 with no holes
Is that announced?
@@vocalstv2442 not officially but from some insider
There is 1 or 2 reddit post about it if you want to search
I have giant hands and I'm getting old at 35 so I need the ergo shape. This mouse is so god damn perfect. Absolutely love this thing. Still think it's overpriced but it is what it is.
Ordered it, very excited about this mouse. I love symmetrical mice, but love EC shape too.
Do you still use it?, would you recommend it?
The shape looks a lot better than the original mouse large flares.
@@BlindBison the v3 dont feel like a deathadder, it feels to weird for me.
@@baremangus3576 yeah, it’s a completely different shape. They should’ve called it something different imo. It’s good, really good even but it’s not a DeathAdder as you say.
@@BlindBison only a freak of nature likes those outward flares. it forces your ringfinger in a very unnatural bend that causes pain
Awesome mouse, always wanted a lighter, less "flared" deathadder. But really, I just don't think ANY mouse is worth $150, considering the wired V2 I bought was $37 dollars. Maybe it will come down in price for Christmas.
the price is high yes but that's the price you have to pay to get top tier tech
@@MadWatcher Removed features?
@@sebastianlaakso2729 Bluetooth and extra buttons
@@fraizie6815 Bluetooth sure, but it's performance oriented for low weight and bluetooth is extra weight. It's aimed at gamers looking for the best in terms of fps and those right-hand sidebuttons were getting in the way for that
@@sebastianlaakso2729 I know, though I think he's getting at why the Deathadder costs the same as the Basilisk, when the Basilisk has more features
Razer just give me a v3 mini!
now is the right time for Logitech to release the G703 Superlight😩
With Gamer Glow!
Still not really sure why Razer got rid of the nice deep comfort curves, but still interested in trying out one of these myself.
A lot of people couldn’t hold the mouse due to the flares
@@MarksterC what does that mean
Something I also noticed owning both the model D Wireless and DAv3, the sides of the deathadder are more straight whereas on the model d the sides sort of curve in where you can rest your fingers
Also got the DAv3 with the student discount for $160 CAD ($125 USD), an awesome upgrade over the D Wireless which just felt cheap
Hello
Let's wait for the viper mini v2
This mouse feels SO GOOD in the hand. Ergo for the win. I slapped the grips on it, and it's something else entirely. Moving from the Model O Wireless to this makes me regret all the gaming I did in the last two years on the O. Oof.....let's GO!
Also, those skates on the stock DAv3 are STELLAR.
What grips? Thanks
They come with some grips inside the box. I assume they're just the Razer brand, but they're damn sticky in a good way.
I am a model O wireless owner and you're making my wallet hurt
Understandable, bud. It took a little arm twisting myself. However, it's leaps and bounds better than the ModelO and I'd absolutely recommend making the jump, fwiw.
@@tambourking Yep but I have to say I do not feel athletic with this mouse. It might be going back, it's just a litttttle too big I feel.
I really liked the classic deathadder shape but I wish it was like a few millimeters shorter on the middle hump. it kinda forces you into a palm grip. I like how wide it is though. my corsair harpoon was a bit too narrow and forces you into fingertipping the sides.
freak. the flare outward is stupid af
Man I just picked up one of these and I instantly fell in love with it! I loved my Superlight 2 but the shape on this thing is like it was molded especially for my hand!
This video is informative, in depth, cut through the bs and straight to facts. Appreciate videos like this.
Any1 that has bigger hands I highly recommend this. Mine aren't massive, but I'm 6'2 so they're bigger. The GPX always felt awkwardly small for me and I thought it was just me. But since I've gotten this mouse my aim feels so good again.
Oh thank you I am 6'3 with super long fingers and all the really good mouses don't fit my hands properly
Just bought mine yesterday. Been using the DA v2. Cant wait for it.
Was the upgrade worth it
got an xlite recently and i am more than happy with it. the side buttons dont really matter to me. after breaking the ones on my ecb in 1 year or so(weapon switch), i trained myself using the keyboard instead. currently, i don't think i can justify the upgrade to the dav3. i much rather save up for a new cpu or a better screen, but it's nice to see a good wireless implementation of an ergo. i switched from the viper mini and an ergo just feels so much better in my large hands. consistency, accuracy in flicks and a more relaxed claw really improved my gameplay. idk, but for me at least, smaller was not better by any stretch. fatigue set in way too early and the low profile just made me grip the mini way too hard at the end of a long session. i can't say it was a bad mouse whatsoever, but cramping up on the tiny mouse to get better grip just wasn't worth it. i am wondering when they bring out a wireless clone of the zaunkönig mk2. i am very interested in trying a finger tip mouse, just for the heck of it.
i have an xlite v2 and might return it to get the mini version & get a viper v2 pro for a full size mouse. i love the xlite its an amazing mouse and dont think iam changing it any time soon. the sensor and the quality of it is really good.
@@xnmr1 i am just hoping the viper is big enough for me. the mini was great but just too small.
@@glashausAimz2 yeah man the viper should do good size wise its the regular mouse size
Also burned on my xlite. The two year warranty is a lie.
@@tommylawler1128 What happened to yours? Was considering getting one but now hesitant.
Imagine agreeing with yourself.
Thanks for the review boardzy.
Been really enjoying mine.
Just got it yesterday. Definitely best ergo of 2022, might be mouse of 2022 but too early to say😅. Have to keep testing it.
Razer are using some type of SMD switch like XM1 and Logitech. They are neither Omron or Kailh but they feel better
Your reviews are awesome, keep up! This mouse makes me wanna try it but the price is not very attractive, especially when you already own an expensive superlight
Couldn't not say it better myself
imagine complaining about price when you droppped 150 on a gpx lmao. the dav3 shits on the superlight and its not even up for debate brother
@@VVSPRINCE is it as comfortable
As the superlight. I already have a Super light but it’s getting old and worn and need a new mouse for Fortnite but idk which one to get another GPX or Deathadder V3 pro
@@vaxyyfn4528 if you use claw, the dav3 is very comfortable as long as you have large hands. the weight is balanced perfectly and the quality is easily better than the gpx. it’s fickle though, as in, the mouse either fits like a glove or it isn’t as comfortable as you’d think. so if you can, try to test out a display model at best buy if possible before committing. if you like the feel in hand then absolutely it’s worth buying over an outdated gpx.

lets just start calling the death adder v3 (DAV3) the dave
Yup
Definitely getting this to replace my model d wireless. Thanks boardzy!
sharp top right edge of the deathadder is the reason i wont upgrade over the xlite v2
I took a gamble with it being my first ergo and its been perfect so far for 19 x 9.5 cm hands relaxed claw
I hope so but logitech has been so weird recently thats its hard to say for sure
wat u mean by weird?
What, if any difference is the top right side to the glorious model d. I have my fingers flat at the top almost like a 1-3-1 but my ring finger is slightly off the mouse 2. With the glorious mouse shape it obstructs allowing me to hit mb2 and the feeling of the button hitting my finger is terrible. Kind of like the mm711 if you get where I am going
Does the click feel really good for a $150 mouse or are they meh/mediocre for the price?
Yeah the opticals do feel really good, fast and bouncy, but they have a bit more pretravel than the clicks on my viper v2 pro. So id say they could feel slightly better but definitely not meh/mediocre
Razer is the best brand after trying lots. Top specs, sleek and not that expensive. I use dav3 and deathstalker v2 pro tkl or huntsman v3 pro analog tkl depending on the game. Love razer!
video quality is god tier
Loving mine. curious if you still are preferring this DAV3 shape over the Viper V2 for claw grip? I keep going back and forth between the 2. I have very similar size hands as you, 21cm x 10.5cm
Why would you get this over the pulsar x2 though ? Literally 50$ for the brand
Hope they made the DA v3 mini version, the DA v2 mini shape is just fit me perfectly
Just got one for myself build quality seems cheap but I’m not sure if it’s the material or just due to it being light weight like the clicks and buttons feel nice but the rest seems cheap idk if I’m the only one with this take but so far I’m enjoying the actual functionality of it
It probably feels cheap because it's light. Feelings can be desceptive
just went to charge mine for the first time and didnt realize i was so spoiled by logitech that the wireless cable would turn into the charging cable. now looking for a usbc cable that will def not feel good at all to use while playing because the razer dongle doesnt turn into the charging cable...
I used to always play deathadders, because I have wide hands. I just bought a superlight 6 months ago. I really like the weight and lack of pretravel but it hurts my hands. I think I will get this and mod the switches for less pretravel.
Got my Deathadder V3 Pro and it’s so good! Excited to see what you’ll say about the Kone XP Air, because it’s a different take on a Gaming Mouse 🤔

@@MekaniQ if roccat wouldnt send him a copy then probably techne would cuz he reviewed 1 already

@@didaka8 honestly my hands are kinda small and they sweat a lot so it was slipping a bunch and I had to keep trying to get a good grip even after wiping.
