Success to your new home and journey in Valencia. Welcome in 🇪🇺. At first 5 years it's really not easy to adjust the mentality here. But honestly they're friendly that made me strong to stay alone with my daughter. Get helped from the government and some kababayan too. I stayed almost 14 years as a Belgian citizen. I'm luckily satisfied spent the half of my life here. Greetings from Belgium.
Oh wow! Good to know, thanks! We are looking forward to experiencing different cultures for sure and we feel like Europe is our best chance at that. ¡Muchas gracias!🥰
You could have flown to Barcelona which was a lot closer to Valencia. Norwegian flies direct LAX-BCN. Best time to fly for cheaper rates could have been after the new year. Glad that you moved to where paella was 1st introduced. Hope you get to visit the famous farm/restaurant outside of the city that still makes the authentic paella. Enjoy and best of luck!
Hello! I found this video of you on Pinoy in Spain. And we are also moving to Alicante, Spain. Hopefully before the second quarter of this year 2022 we can finally move there. Thank you for the tips.
You are welcome! We received so much help and assistance from total strangers and we hope our videos can pay it forward. Which consulate are you applying at?
Chào bạn! Cám ơn bạn chia se video rất hay về sắp xếp 1 hành trình đến spain💯👍 Chúc 2 bạn có 1 chuyến đến Spain thật tuyệt vời và những kỷ niệm khó quên 🥰💕
Hola, I just came across your video. Cool with lots of info. Kamusta na kayo, we just recently moved to Valencia from the US. Welcome to Valencia. Will contact you via FB.
Wow, how did I miss this one? I'll have to go back and see what else I missed. Still have the desire to retire to Spain(hoping for next year, late summer, early fall), still scared to death about everything involved. So. Much. Involved!! But thanks for the great tips. I'll need to come back and review the info about cell phones because it confuses me. Did you make a video about that? I'd be very interested in that. Thanks again! Love your videos 🤗
So bigger questions... did you ship your belongings to Spain? Did you just take clothes and nothing else? What did you do for visas? Which type did you get?
We took 6 suitcases of our belongings. We sold everything else on Facebook Marketplace, we had a garage sale, and gave away to family and friends. We shipped some boxes to the Philippines for our families. We applied for the Non Lucrative visa. ruclips.net/video/SAkMb8_nYkA/видео.html
I thought maybe you would talk about how you shipped your stuff over. Or did you even have any stuff left? Did you just go with your luggage or did you ship something over?
We sold everything we had so we just came here with some clothes and sentimental items. If you have Facebook, you can join our group of people moving to Spain and ask there! ☺️ facebook.com/groups/letsmovetospain/
Nice vid We are about 2 months behind you guys. Moving to Valencia March 21st! Relate to everything you talked about but didn't know about porting numbers. Question -- were you able to fly with just your vaccine documents or did you need to get a Covid test (72 hours). I think as of Feb 1 it will be the vaccine documentation only.
Sweet! We were able to fly with the vaccine documents but needed to create accounts at and download the app from spth.gob.es and complete the profile 48 hours before our arrival into Spain. This generated a QR code that we showed upon arrival. BUT... before boarding our flight from Newark to Madrid, I almost had a heart attack when the ground attendant asked for my negative covid test, and I showed her the QR code from Spain and she insisted she needed a covid test. And then I showed her my CDC card. So weird she didn't ask for that at all!
Thanks for the video. Quick question: Do you have to freeze your credits while you live abroad for safety concerns? If so, does that mean that it will be frozen for like years since you guys are living abroad for years already?
Can you move to Spain without having a place to live ? Can you find a place when you get there? Live in an Air Band B for a while ! What does the consulate require for the visa?
Hi! It will depend on the consulate’s requirements. For LA back in 2021 all we put down was the city that we will move to. We didn’t book an airbnb until after we got approved. But now some consulates require a lease contract. If you need help with the visa application, please contact our friends at Bureaucracy.es/everythingisboffo
You guys are AWSOME. Question please. I have to apply for the NLV through LA Consulate as well. Is the process simple enough for me to apply without a lawyer’s assistance? They charge 3k! My case is not complicated at all, just want your opinion Did you guys simply followed the checklist or did you find 3rd party help? Lastly, what was the most difficult step or thing to get done from The consulate checklist? THANK YOU SO MUCH
is this a permanent stay..? and just curious how many years was it from the date of discussion and agreement of moving to Spain till your arrival.. I am sure this was and is a huge undertaking... I was there for a first time visit for some weeks and it was a huge process and covid made things more intense.. thanks for your contact the last time for future questions..
We’re just a few key strokes away if you have questions and yes, this is a permanent stay (hopefully) We decided to move in July 2020 and left December 2021. Even that wasn’t enough time to prepare but it’s also kind of parenthood (from what we’ve read) that you’re never going to be fully prepared for it. Thanks so much for watching! Hope to see you around more here 🙌🏼

Congrats for your move. One piece of advice, stop thinking like you are in the US. You are in Europe now and this mentality that you need to take medicines from the US because they don’t have it in Europe. See what is the generic name of each medicine you use and that is enough. In Europe is even cheaper. A doctor is very easy to reach. The insurance is very cheap. Along with Spanish classes, research health insurance companies, rentals rules, …
Thanks! Just didn’t want to have to think about the meds in our first few months here… definitely looking forward to the better healthcare system. Just got our SIP cards at the centro de salud so so far so good.
