    My wife, who is from US, and I are living in Spain for the last 10 years. She always tells me that the most important thing to live in Spain after speak Spanish, is to understand that you are an immigrant, not an expat. Spanish people are nice with foreigners, but the system have his rules with the immigrants and you have to follow them if you don't want any problems.
    Love your videos.

    We are in Valencia this week based on your thoughts about this city. It’s really lovely here. We have been thinking about the possibility of moving here, but this video is making my head spin! Oh, boy.

    If you are already working in Spain, you pay self-employment taxes and have legal residence. You can register (assuming you are not) and request your Social Security Health Card (which is not incompatible with private health insurance), which will give you access to Spanish public health (considered the 4th best in the world).

    The fact that you have to tell people to learn the language of the country they're moving to is, at least, surprising

    • @ANTOANETTA
      @ANTOANETTA  3 года назад +1

      Well…I’ve been getting by for a long time with English only. You would be surprised but in the States I was getting frustrated with Latinos, Russians, Asians the fact that they live 30 years there and barely speak English…

    • @dafnefigal3576
      @dafnefigal3576 3 года назад +1

      @@ANTOANETTA Don't get me wrong, I meant it in general, not only about Americans. I would never blame anyone for having trouble learning a language or not being able to learn it at all. What I find shocking is the fact that the need to speak the local language has to be mentioned in the first place.
      Congrats for the video, BTW, really informative!

    From my understanding, by law they can only collect one month. Not 4 months. They’re taking advantage of foreigners and that’s illegal. 4 months is outrageous.
    This is also stated on Idealista.
    One year or less is considered a holiday rental. So that may be why they will get you for so much money. Signing a longer lease will help too.
    Another huge benefit… speak the language.

    • @ANTOANETTA
      @ANTOANETTA  3 года назад +1

      Yes I know that… not sure if they are taking advantage or just being scared from bad tenants… I understand both sides but paying 6-8 months in advance is a lot. I have friends who had to pay 8 months advance.

    • @ANTOANETTA
      @ANTOANETTA  3 года назад +1

      I lived in Barcelona for a month and it was the first city I wanted to live in....but Valencia is different. Its like a big small city. People are nice, but it would be better if you know some Spanish :) Barcelona is more international in all aspects. You should visit Valencia for sure!!

      Barcelona is more expensive to rent. However it is more international. Some people have developed some phobia to tourists and visitors in Barcelona due to the large numbers they receive on a regular basis.
      Tourists are every where you go but it is easier to find a qualified Job, especially in the lT sector, although it used to be easier.
      Some people (a minority) only speak catalán in Barcelona, regardless of whether you speak to them in spanish. Catalán is a nice language but learning two languages can be cumbersome and difficult if you just landed.
      Valencia feels like a big City and has the best Polytechnic university in Spain if you are into engineering. It will be the European capital of Design in 2022, so it is undergoing some make up to pedestrianise the old City centre which is One of the largest in Europe.
      The university of Barcelona is among the best 200 universities in the World accordingly to the latest international ranking released just a few weeks ago.

      @@caballoloco100 In Valencia we do speak Catalan too. And in greater percentage than in Catalonia. Not in Valencia city downtown districts, but in some peripheral ones and surrounding cities, there are immigrants that learned Catalan and not Castilian because at work is the language everybody uses.

      @@Resmith18SR I was joking. She is OK, but look how she touches her hair every second, that is a bad sign. She has some deep problems with her father. Her mother most likely has no character. She is independent but lonely. What I love about her the most is the way she eats food, she really loves it. She cannot love man, she can only find him interesting. She will spend her life jumping from one place to another, from one food to another food. Living with her would be turning yourself into a part of her luggage. She mentioned many times that she has a partner but she never showed him, not once.
