I don't think Daredevil: BA will be as good as the original series. But I'm just glad we're going to see the whole cast return, and see a continuation of their story. The original series ended really well, so no matter how this series turns out, I'm just going to view it as a separate comic run..

If Born Again is bad, i might be done with the MCU. Daredevil 2015 holds such a special place in my heart and is my favorite Marvel show/film aside from Into the Spiderverse and Spiderman 2

Craziest part is that Daredevil, wich was the first one, didn't make fun of most of it's comic book elements, but still kept thing grounded by having the cast react realistically. They really DID have ninjas and imortal people hanging out on NYC in season 2, the characters did go like "ninjas? What the hell??", but that's only until they realized that... yeah, ninjas! So I don't understand why the other shows couldn't do the same, Iron Fist specially feels like such a waste man, smh

Honestly I don't think there is anything wrong with them seeing this show was not going well and just being willing to scrap a lot of it. I wish more movies and shows would do that, but obviously that's not possible because it's a big risk adding tot he budger like that, so I get it. From the leaks and rumors it sounded like the original idea for the show was to not be a direct follow up, but after the CEO of Disney changed they retooled the show to bc they saw how the fans were reacting to the changes and the MCU as a whole at that moment. Then when they reworked the whole thing they canonized the Netflix shows (Disney Plus has placed the shows in their correct spots in the timeline). Another reason was because if the show was daredevil season 4 they would have to pay all the returning cast a lot more money so they originally opted to making it a soft reboot with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Ofrio returning, then decided after to make it another season (kinda).

I think the most important thing to me is actually what’s on the monitor, I wanna see DDs identity played with in ways not as serious as s3 of the Netflix show took it. We got the gritty side and it would be really cool to explore the “I’m not DD” side plus it feels like a good meeting point between DD humor and the light hearted aspect of the MCU
I think a cool video idea is for you to try and put the other defenders in the MCU, talk about changes you would make and what would another season with that hero would look like.
Defenders really deserve better. Luke Cage should literally be in the Avengers, Iron Fist should be in the Midnight Sons and Elektra should be in the Thunderbolts.

Foggy and Karen were both as big of heroes as Matt was. Having them have “powers” in their skills and bravery was fantastic. They were not the hapless maidens waiting for saving and I LOVE it!

It's rumoured that Sony and Disney have made a new deal, that allows Spider-Man to appear in more films then just Solo or Avenger films. And if that's the case, then I hope it's the same for live action shows, as that would allow Spidey to appear in Born Again, and give us a Spidey X Daredevil street level team up that Spider-Man 4 likely won't.

With some of the casting (specifically the late Kamar de los Reyes as Hector Ayala/The White Tiger) it seems like you may be getting the more distinct comics inspiration and the lawyer by day/superhero by night you were asking for, those of you who've read the Bendis run will probably know where it's going even if theyre gonna have to change a lot of the details
Early AoS might've tried to follow the main MCU more closely than the Netflix shows, but especially the last two seasons really went off to do their own thing that didn't really fit with Infinity War/Endgame.
Chip Zdarsky's run on Daredevil was really good!! Would love to see the Devil's Reign storyline adapted in the MCU, maybe intertwine it with Captain America's storyline, with the Thunderbolts, and the Power Broker. But that'd be too ambitious, I think. 😅😂 Perhaps it'd be more feasible to adapt Devil's Reign in the X-Men 97 universe. That'd be awesome too! 🤔
A really easy way to adapt the costume Daredevil had in the Chip Zdarsky run, as drawn by Marco Checchetto, would be to just give him a regular under armor shirt like the black one he sometimes wears, but red and with the “DD” logo printed on or sewn into the chest, then either give him a similar mask to Robert Pattinson’s Batman or something like Mattfleck’s again. I’m thinking it could be a Zorro-like mask that cuts off below the ears and has a forehead shell underneath the cloth to support the horns, like what the copycat Daredevil, Hector, wears in that run (hell, they could just lift his whole look), which is also what Matt puts on when he embraces the mantle again (it also gives him a nice swashbuckling look, though some of that comes from the medium-length red hair hanging out in the back, which Charlie Cox doesn’t quite have). Beyond that, just give him red pants, red boots, red gloves, and red hand wrappings. It’s about as simple as any superhero look could be and would match the overall vibe of the series. It also would’ve made him stick out a little less among the Defenders (especially if they actually gave Iron Fist his mask and a green tracksuit or something).
There's a couple rumors circling around that they want to bring the entire cast from the other Netflix Marvel shows into Disney+, I'd love to hear your thoughts on that. Personally I wanna see a heroes for hire show, and a new Jessica Jones show is a MUST! Her show was my favorite after Daredevil

I want bullseye to have his own resurrection moment. It can be a montage instead of an episode but I want to see his recovery and physical rehab that mirrors Matt’s in S3: Ep1, and maybe have him escape from whatever asylum they’d prob try to put him in. Maybe he’ll pretend he’s weaker than he actually is and makes a run for it catching others off guard. I also don’t want Matt to struggle with killing people again, they did it twice already. But I want him to save Fisk and Vanessa from bullseye or even Frank despite hating him and wanting to let bullseye have his way with him… btw have bullseye gun after Fisk and have Matt and Fisk living in his head rent free or to have him be like Matt where he hates Fisk but is super violent and petty about it. Bonus points if Matt does it after Fisk already sends men to kill Karen and Foggy forcing them to go into hiding while Matt was dead breaking their deal. Speaking of which Matt needs to react to Fisk gaining power and breaking their deal while he was gone cuz he was taking advantage of Matt being gone. Hell another resurrection scene for Fisk were he pulls strings while Matt is gone and has to figure out he’s dead… for 5 years I need them to deal with Melvin. Does he become the gladiator or has matt been his lawyer trying to get him out of jail?
DD defending Fisk from Bullseye? Or fighting Punisher? Again? I'm sure they can think of more creative ways to continue the story with those characters.
@@radrno7probably, but it is emphasizing him still adhering to saving even the most vile mf even if he really wants to let him die. Feels less repetitive cuz of that one more level of stakes. Save the bad guy… from another antagonist he partially agrees with. Which can be a really strong moment cuz the audience will understand everyone’s motive. It’s Fisk we’re talking about he had it coming, bullseye and Frank are bullseye and Frank, and Matt just can’t help but be himself. It can be a very tense, frustration, and thought provoking and interesting plot point for both the characters and audience. It can start another “who was right, Matt or Frank” moment. And if we can have “Matt struggles with wanting to kill Fisk and has to beat him” for the second time but it’s done even better in S3, we can have him protecting Fisk from another antagonist when Matt wants him to succeed but believes it’s wrong
@@Dookieman1975 I'll tell you this, people are NOT gonna like that. People already hated DD fighting Punisher to save criminals that we already knew didn't deserve saving. It's only gonna make DD seem annoying or dumb for that. It's one of the reasons why Season 2 sucked, everything was built to make Punisher seem better than everything else, making DD and Elektra the worst part of the show, which is terrible, those 2 should always be one of the highest points of the story, not the lowest. If DD is ever shown to be defending anyone, that person HAS to be worth saving. For example, if the target is a villain, have that villain know something that requires them to stay alive. If it's just gonna be "oh it's because DD doesn't like killing people that deserve to be put down", NO. We don't want any of that again.

People side with who they agree with more but most recognize that it was a good idea to have u not really disagree with either and most don’t fully disagree with either, the show succeeded in that and this one can do it too. And although DD and punisher was the best part of S2, they still did Matt very well too except for some of the romance. However Elektra and the hand could’ve been done better and I didn’t hate it. The defenders didn’t utilize them as well cuz of a certain racist showrunner and it def makes DD S2 a bit worse. And u can have moments where DD takes a backseat for certain important characters when it’s needed. But even he was the main character without a doubt but it still felt a lil messy. Also S2 is overhated. And the “this person has to be worth saving” kinda tells me u don’t really get DD. To him everyone is worth saving. I myself don’t agree with his no kill rule and sometimes am annoyed by it but that’s how he is. I’d say the same for Batman. And throwing them in impossible situations where they really want to break their rules, is intense and can make good scenes. If it really is gonna piss people off that much then S3 wouldn’t have gotten so much praise cuz Matt again, refused to kill Fisk after a whole season of hyping that moment up. Notice how we don’t see anyone angry they “wasted time in S3 and his character just reset to how to was before” Edit: u also sound like ur talking about how punisher should act. i've always felt like they reset production because they know how much people loved the netflix show and they knew the direction they were going in would make people unhappy no matter what, but lets hope that it wasn't for the worst and that this can rival season 1/3 in quality
I think Netflix did a great job with his costume, the mask adheres to his face with him still able to turn his head, and he doesn’t have a bobble head like the dark knight, this should be the template for cowl costumes

Netflix’s Daredevil is my favourite comic book adaptation, ever. The D23 trailer gives me hope that Born Again will turn out great but I’m definitely cautious after seeing how Marvel has handled their shows so far. (With the exceptions of X-Men 97 & Hit-Monkey)
I'm worried about Born Again. I do not think it will be as good as the OG Netflix show. The Marvelfication of it, just worries me. The Netflix one worked because they were limited on Budget and had to make things work, now they have that Disney money... idk, we'll see. I'll be happy to see something "new", but I'm remaining sceptical
Just a few thoughts here. The only criticism i have of the netflix daredevil was that they never properly wrapped up or explained the fate of Electra after teasing us with that last scene of her being placed on that mystical sarcophagus by members of The Hand after she was dead and buried. All we got was some backstory where, apparently, Stick and Daredevil went into that building where she was to confront The Hand, and through a mysterious explosion, it collapsed on them, costing the life of Stick, and almost killing Daredevil. I was seriously expecting Electra to come back from the dead, like in the her limited series comic book run, to aid Daredevil one last time, but I guess that the shooting schedule or talent availability did not allow that at the time. Who knows. Next thing. It was fairly obvious that Dex was going to be Bullseye for anyone who recognized his skills from the comics, so that's cool they are bring that character to fruition with this continuation of the series. I mean, that closing back surgery scene at the end of season 3 definitely showed he was supposed to be back the following season. Just curious about who is making his costume in this storyline. Same with Daredevil. And one last thing. I loved Tatiana Maslany in Black Orphan, but years later after coming back for She Hulk, which was terrible, in my opinion, she, along with the showrunner got pretty political and defensive on social media and went to war with the fanbase of that IP after suffer backlash for the quality that show. That's just bad form and bad for business. I wouldn't call that based. The Netflix Daredevil is on another level, though, head and shoulders above the rest. Much like yourself, based on what I'm seeing, I'm cautiously optimistic, but replacing the showrunner and the entire writing/directing team and still trying to maintain that level of excellence 5 years later is a HUGE ask, in my opinion. Crossing my fingers.

Just FYI, Jessica Jones poking fun at the "Comic Accurate Suit" is ripped straight from the comics. She wasn't actually a 60s hero, debuting in 2001 as the exact version the show adapts, and it's a running gag that she was and just isn't like that anymore. She first wore the costume in the present years later in what was essentially a mass retcon of her character to make her fit in more with other heroes.

From the leaks and rumors it sounded like the original idea for the show was to not be a direct follow up, but after the CEO of Disney changed they retooled the show to bc they saw how the fans were reacting to the changes and the MCU as a whole at that moment. Then when they reworked the whole thing they canonized the Netflix shows (Disney Plus has placed the shows in their correct spots in the timeline).
Another reason was because if the show was daredevil season 4 they would have to pay all the returning cast a lot more money so they originally opted to making it a soft reboot with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Ofrio returning, then decided after to make it another season (kinda).
I'm relatively new to your channel, came across it about a month or two ago, and I just wanted to say it's very apparent how much effort you put into your videos because it really shines through in the finished product! Keep up the great work!!

I think the most important thing to me is actually what’s on the monitor, I wanna see DDs identity played with in ways not as serious as s3 of the Netflix show took it. We got the gritty side and it would be really cool to explore the “I’m not DD” side plus it feels like a good meeting point between DD humor and the light hearted aspect of the MCU

I think a cool video idea is for you to try and put the other defenders in the MCU, talk about changes you would make and what would another season with that hero would look like.
Defenders really deserve better. Luke Cage should literally be in the Avengers, Iron Fist should be in the Midnight Sons and Elektra should be in the Thunderbolts.

Foggy and Karen were both as big of heroes as Matt was. Having them have “powers” in their skills and bravery was fantastic. They were not the hapless maidens waiting for saving and I LOVE it!

The leaked trailer eased my worries for this show. They seem to understand the tone of the original, broken bones, blood, etc. And obviously, mature themes of faith
It's rumoured that Sony and Disney have made a new deal, that allows Spider-Man to appear in more films then just Solo or Avenger films. And if that's the case, then I hope it's the same for live action shows, as that would allow Spidey to appear in Born Again, and give us a Spidey X Daredevil street level team up that Spider-Man 4 likely won't.

With some of the casting (specifically the late Kamar de los Reyes as Hector Ayala/The White Tiger) it seems like you may be getting the more distinct comics inspiration and the lawyer by day/superhero by night you were asking for, those of you who've read the Bendis run will probably know where it's going even if theyre gonna have to change a lot of the details
Early AoS might've tried to follow the main MCU more closely than the Netflix shows, but especially the last two seasons really went off to do their own thing that didn't really fit with Infinity War/Endgame.

Chip Zdarsky's run on Daredevil was really good!! Would love to see the Devil's Reign storyline adapted in the MCU, maybe intertwine it with Captain America's storyline, with the Thunderbolts, and the Power Broker. But that'd be too ambitious, I think. 😅😂 Perhaps it'd be more feasible to adapt Devil's Reign in the X-Men 97 universe. That'd be awesome too! 🤔
A really easy way to adapt the costume Daredevil had in the Chip Zdarsky run, as drawn by Marco Checchetto, would be to just give him a regular under armor shirt like the black one he sometimes wears, but red and with the “DD” logo printed on or sewn into the chest, then either give him a similar mask to Robert Pattinson’s Batman or something like Mattfleck’s again. I’m thinking it could be a Zorro-like mask that cuts off below the ears and has a forehead shell underneath the cloth to support the horns, like what the copycat Daredevil, Hector, wears in that run (hell, they could just lift his whole look), which is also what Matt puts on when he embraces the mantle again (it also gives him a nice swashbuckling look, though some of that comes from the medium-length red hair hanging out in the back, which Charlie Cox doesn’t quite have).
Beyond that, just give him red pants, red boots, red gloves, and red hand wrappings. It’s about as simple as any superhero look could be and would match the overall vibe of the series. It also would’ve made him stick out a little less among the Defenders (especially if they actually gave Iron Fist his mask and a green tracksuit or something).
There's a couple rumors circling around that they want to bring the entire cast from the other Netflix Marvel shows into Disney+, I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

It's funny but the greatest shows of all time seem to be the only ones that also have the themes and intros that are soooooo amazinf that you dont skip them, even when binging. Its a really hard thing to pull off. Its be great if even ONE of the Marvel shows could pull through for us, lol.

Still a little disappointing that Bullseye doesn’t have a single bullseye anywhere on his suit.
I want bullseye to have his own resurrection moment. It can be a montage instead of an episode but I want to see his recovery and physical rehab that mirrors Matt’s in S3: Ep1, and maybe have him escape from whatever asylum they’d prob try to put him in. Maybe he’ll pretend he’s weaker than he actually is and makes a run for it catching others off guard.
I also don’t want Matt to struggle with killing people again, they did it twice already. But I want him to save Fisk and Vanessa from bullseye or even Frank despite hating him and wanting to let bullseye have his way with him… btw have bullseye gun after Fisk and have Matt and Fisk living in his head rent free or to have him be like Matt where he hates Fisk but is super violent and petty about it. Bonus points if Matt does it after Fisk already sends men to kill Karen and Foggy forcing them to go into hiding while Matt was dead breaking their deal. Speaking of which Matt needs to react to Fisk gaining power and breaking their deal while he was gone cuz he was taking advantage of Matt being gone. Hell another resurrection scene for Fisk were he pulls strings while Matt is gone and has to figure out he’s dead… for 5 years
I need them to deal with Melvin. Does he become the gladiator or has matt been his lawyer trying to get him out of jail?
DD defending Fisk from Bullseye? Or fighting Punisher? Again? I'm sure they can think of more creative ways to continue the story with those characters.
@@radrno7probably, but it is emphasizing him still adhering to saving even the most vile mf even if he really wants to let him die. Feels less repetitive cuz of that one more level of stakes. Save the bad guy… from another antagonist he partially agrees with. Which can be a really strong moment cuz the audience will understand everyone’s motive. It’s Fisk we’re talking about he had it coming, bullseye and Frank are bullseye and Frank, and Matt just can’t help but be himself. It can be a very tense, frustration, and thought provoking and interesting plot point for both the characters and audience. It can start another “who was right, Matt or Frank” moment. And if we can have “Matt struggles with wanting to kill Fisk and has to beat him” for the second time but it’s done even better in S3, we can have him protecting Fisk from another antagonist when Matt wants him to succeed but believes it’s wrong

I'll tell you this, people are NOT gonna like that. People already hated DD fighting Punisher to save criminals that we already knew didn't deserve saving. It's only gonna make DD seem annoying or dumb for that.
It's one of the reasons why Season 2 sucked, everything was built to make Punisher seem better than everything else, making DD and Elektra the worst part of the show, which is terrible, those 2 should always be one of the highest points of the story, not the lowest. If DD is ever shown to be defending anyone, that person HAS to be worth saving.
For example, if the target is a villain, have that villain know something that requires them to stay alive. If it's just gonna be "oh it's because DD doesn't like killing people that deserve to be put down", NO. We don't want any of that again.

People side with who they agree with more but most recognize that it was a good idea to have u not really disagree with either and most don’t fully disagree with either, the show succeeded in that and this one can do it too. And although DD and punisher was the best part of S2, they still did Matt very well too except for some of the romance. However Elektra and the hand could’ve been done better and I didn’t hate it. The defenders didn’t utilize them as well cuz of a certain racist showrunner and it def makes DD S2 a bit worse. And u can have moments where DD takes a backseat for certain important characters when it’s needed. But even he was the main character without a doubt but it still felt a lil messy. Also S2 is overhated. And the “this person has to be worth saving” kinda tells me u don’t really get DD. To him everyone is worth saving. I myself don’t agree with his no kill rule and sometimes am annoyed by it but that’s how he is. I’d say the same for Batman. And throwing them in impossible situations where they really want to break their rules, is intense and can make good scenes. If it really is gonna piss people off that much then S3 wouldn’t have gotten so much praise cuz Matt again, refused to kill Fisk after a whole season of hyping that moment up. Notice how we don’t see anyone angry they “wasted time in S3 and his character just reset to how to was before”

i've always felt like they reset production because they know how much people loved the netflix show and they knew the direction they were going in would make people unhappy no matter what, but lets hope that it wasn't for the worst and that this can rival season 1/3 in quality
I think Netflix did a great job with his costume, the mask adheres to his face with him still able to turn his head, and he doesn’t have a bobble head like the dark knight, this should be the template for cowl costumes
Honestly, my personal head canon for the Marvel Netflix shows are that they’re set during the blip especially with how The Avengers don’t appear

Netflix’s Daredevil is my favourite comic book adaptation, ever. The D23 trailer gives me hope that Born Again will turn out great but I’m definitely cautious after seeing how Marvel has handled their shows so far. (With the exceptions of X-Men 97 & Hit-Monkey)
I'm worried about Born Again. I do not think it will be as good as the OG Netflix show. The Marvelfication of it, just worries me. The Netflix one worked because they were limited on Budget and had to make things work, now they have that Disney money... idk, we'll see. I'll be happy to see something "new", but I'm remaining sceptical
Just a few thoughts here. The only criticism i have of the netflix daredevil was that they never properly wrapped up or explained the fate of Electra after teasing us with that last scene of her being placed on that mystical sarcophagus by members of The Hand after she was dead and buried. All we got was some backstory where, apparently, Stick and Daredevil went into that building where she was to confront The Hand, and through a mysterious explosion, it collapsed on them, costing the life of Stick, and almost killing Daredevil. I was seriously expecting Electra to come back from the dead, like in the her limited series comic book run, to aid Daredevil one last time, but I guess that the shooting schedule or talent availability did not allow that at the time. Who knows. Next thing. It was fairly obvious that Dex was going to be Bullseye for anyone who recognized his skills from the comics, so that's cool they are bring that character to fruition with this continuation of the series. I mean, that closing back surgery scene at the end of season 3 definitely showed he was supposed to be back the following season. Just curious about who is making his costume in this storyline. Same with Daredevil. And one last thing. I loved Tatiana Maslany in Black Orphan, but years later after coming back for She Hulk, which was terrible, in my opinion, she, along with the showrunner got pretty political and defensive on social media and went to war with the fanbase of that IP after suffer backlash for the quality that show. That's just bad form and bad for business. I wouldn't call that based. The Netflix Daredevil is on another level, though, head and shoulders above the rest. Much like yourself, based on what I'm seeing, I'm cautiously optimistic, but replacing the showrunner and the entire writing/directing team and still trying to maintain that level of excellence 5 years later is a HUGE ask, in my opinion. Crossing my fingers.

Just FYI, Jessica Jones poking fun at the "Comic Accurate Suit" is ripped straight from the comics. She wasn't actually a 60s hero, debuting in 2001 as the exact version the show adapts, and it's a running gag that she was and just isn't like that anymore. She first wore the costume in the present years later in what was essentially a mass retcon of her character to make her fit in more with other heroes.
