  • In today's video, I explain why I chose a DCT over a manual on both of my BMW M4's! I suspect this video will be fairly controversial and a lot of die hard manual fan boys probably won't want to agree with me, but that's fair. Again all of what I say in this video is just my personal opinion so don't take it as an insult lol! I hope you guys enjoyed, and as always if you could go ahead and give me a thumbs up on this video as well as subscribe, I would appreciate it!

I drive a m2c manual, but I am totally agree with everything you said. DCT and manual all have there own advantage, you will be most likely to compromise if this is the only car you have. I chose the fun over the speed, but honestly if I can afford 2 sport cars at same time and one of them has to be a M, the M car must be the DCT and I can get better manual fun on a BRZ, Miata or Cayman. like you said, the bmw manual is so rubbery. I installed a CAE short shifter to fix that, it shifts so much greater but I get so much cabin noise, for long distance driving, it drones my ears.

that's sort of how i felt as well. I still think there's a lot of fun with the manual in these cars

BMW manuals are trash but better than regular BMW auto. 12 BMWs in and I got with DCT on all my ///M cars and SMG on my e46. All my non ///M cars (BMWs) I get 6 speed manual. I love DCT.

Totally in agreement with you, all non M cars i’d go for a manual too. The ZF8 in the newer ones is pretty quick though but the manual feel is lacking
