I don't really understand how to use variable hi hat. The logic drummer template keymap isn't working with Logic and the hi hat key functions are different
I meant with BFD3. I can't stand the GUI in BFD, the groove editor is abysmal. I prefer the logic midi editor. I guess Cubase, Pro Tools etc, would be the same. I think the variable control is the modulation to open and close the hat
Small Axe MP , Thank you so much for your reply. Yes it does seem relatively simply. The only problem is that it seems like you have a keyboard to start with that is close to one of the ones that bfd3 has a map for and you simply added to it or changed it. I am planning to get an M Audio 88 key controller that is not listed amongst the map presets. Do you know of a way that bfd3 allows one to add such a device from scratch? Any insight would be most appreciated.
Lazlo Aluisa it doesn't matter what device you have. You can just customize the mapping t9 whatever you have. M-audio is GM - general midi so it should be standard. So pull up the GM preset and work from there when you get it.
You have to use a drum VST or use a drum machine inside of Cubase. Midi is just the performance. Make sure you have a drum instrument on the track or an instrument track with the drum vst.
@@SmallAxeMP I do .Superior Drummer plays the sounds correctly but Groove Agent,BFD 3 and ML Drums play the wrong sounds when I adjust the drum map to match my Yamaha multi 12.
much appreciated, between save presets, save kit, save keymap its difficult to get your head around this thing- I made a working kit in bfd3 that included voices for all my extra trigger pads, but then I wanted to just make different versions of my kit using different voices (drum samples)- it got very confusing
Couldn't get my head around BFD3 key mapping.. this was really helpful.. Thanks
Thank you so much, this just made my night awesome!

@Michael Bennett ok, well a lot of guys like logic midi editor. I wouldn't use the Mido in BFD program anyway; I always love to work I'm my DAW.
Could I hire you to do this for me via Team Viewer with my keyboard and version of BFD3? Where are you located?
Lazlo Aluisa it's easy brother just watch video and apply steps.
