    Glad you are coming out with more content. I learned a ton from year over the bit-tech time and looking forward to more videos.

    I am just so glad you are back! Today I just remembered out of the blue and searched bit-tech and all that led me here. To the person who inspired and taught me how to design and actually make a distroplate. And, guess what? I was successful.
    Welcome back Alex, hope to see more content in the future!

    It's somehow very therapeutic listening to calming music while a cnc machines out a work of art.😌

    thanks for the proper video. shorts are for beeches. the workshop is glorious! so spacious with some really impressive equipment, and a lick of paint really transformed those two rooms. the ex-cardboard room has become a lovely photo studio.

    I feel for you, i was convinced when we moved the company out of london 12 months ago that it would only take 6 weeks... fast forward.. 12 months later and we are only at about 80% of what i thought i would have done in that 6 weeks. 😅.. like you, moved from a smaller space to a much larger one (from 3 rooms to 14 rooms) and its been constant improvements.. and now its full.😅 keep up the amazing work

    Yeah in my opinion, shorts are the worst. I personally much prefer when a content-creator takes the time to talk to us, tell us what's on your mind, give us the details about what you're working on or how you plan on accomplishing something. To me, it just makes for better content. Yes, I realize that you need to appeal to as wide of an audience as you can, definitely not going to hold that against ya. I'm just glad you're able to take the time and share with us what's going on in your shop. The shop looks great BTW!

      @@Neudezign Often the main problem with full videos is the time it takes to make them vs the job at hand. If it’s a small job, the cost to make the video can completely eclipse it. Naturally this can swing in the other direction too for a big channel, but at my current scale I won’t be earning anything from a video, so it’s all sunk cost.
      Putting them into a vlog like this though seems a good middle ground.

    I’m very glad you’ve returned! I was scrolling through subscribed channels a while back cleaning up and I almost unsubbed because it had been so long, then you came back! The shop looks great!

    Honestly the only thing Shorts are good for (IMO) is to show nice preview of you full vids and then link to them for people that are interested.

    • @PraetexDesign
      @PraetexDesign  3 месяца назад +1

      @@_Turbocat777 Even that can be problematic as it messes with all the subscribers’ notifications :/

    • @_Turbocat777
      @_Turbocat777 3 месяца назад +1

      @@PraetexDesign That's fair
      I think it was Piratesoftware that said turning notifications on shorts on was "bad" for the algorithm since not all of your subscribers will engage with it. (funny enough he has a short where he clipped it)

    • @PraetexDesign
      @PraetexDesign  3 месяца назад +1

      @@_Turbocat777 I can totally see that being the case. Either way it doesn’t seem worth it even for unique content, shorts are insanely hard to monetise, 9M views in the last 90 days is an insane hurdle for 99.9% of content creators.

      @@PraetexDesign yeah, agreed this yt shizz seems to be getting harder and harder to nail down and I have mad respect for everyone giving it a go. It's basically the equivalent of the free public access tv channels we had growing up, everyone is relying on the community to keep going. (Love your work and your vids giving us a peek at what you do ❤️)

    I appreciate that you did the walk and talk at the end before you washed your hands, but also that you were wearing a spotless WHITE shirt. To not have a handprint or two on it... *that* is a man with self control. :D Nice work on the cleanup and stuff. I fully expected that dark room to end up with a coat of musou black.

    Shorts are annoying - I never watch them. FWIW, your plan here to compile them into a larger video is far more palatable, and as you say: the story needs fleshing out which shorts preclude due to their duration.
    Love your work as always. You are the poster child for artisanal design & CNC work. The Datron is getting such a great demo every time you show its use.

    Nice to see more content. Nostalgia kicking in.
    And why the hack do you have a janky laptop setup when you build the most incredible PCs? löl
    Just a side note, there is some really weird going on with the audio when you are talking.

    • @PraetexDesign
      @PraetexDesign  3 месяца назад +3

      Yeah there’s some clipping going on in the low frequency bits that I’ve not been able to figure out. I think it’s because those bits clash with some of the background machine sounds. Unfortunately if I leave it completely unfiltered you get a really horrible hissing going on that murders your ears.
      Hey hey that laptop has been crucial! I need it for use with the scanning arm as I can keep it tethered rather than using wifi. It’s no slouch either, I needed a Quadro for the arm software support, so went with a beefy one.
      That said, the office setup will be substantially upgraded later.

    I love your projects and videos and have watched you for years now. But, I want to request that you make videos without the cnc machine sounds on top of the music? I find myself muting your videos just because I find the sound too much. 😊 Other than that I have absolutely no complaints, keep up the amazing work 😊
