      Writer, Brent Hanley says - “it’s biographical, jokingly”. Yeah, Brent, along with Paxton, McConaughey, and Booth all grew up in Texas where the idea of “personified evil” is very much a part of your childhood. Those raised in TX, in a church-going, lower-middle class home, truly get this film on a whole different level. 😜. The doctrine may have messed with your head, but it kept you on the ‘straight and narrow’, until you were old enough to truly develop your own inner philosophy. IMO - the children actors in this film were remarkable.

Much respect to Paxton as director swinging for the fences on this one, and successfully doing so, as well as putting in a great performance in front of the camera. You're right, the ending was crazy, in a good way. I'll probably watch it again this week. If you haven't seen "A Simple Plan" also starring Bill Paxton, with Billy Bob Thornton and Bridget Fonda, directed by Sam Raimi, I highly recommend that one, think you would like it, came out in 1998, a few years before "Frailty."

      @ROBERTPUNU 7 месяцев назад

      Neil, same here. saw it at the theaters, too. Adam Meeks-approved message. for those going through the comments, I've got good news. God is good because He gives His blessings to everyone, whether they be good or bad. but everyone has at least, told a lie, or stolen something in their life. and that makes them sinners, and God will not allow sinners in heaven; in His presence, because He is holy. so, God has to punish the sinners in hell, because God is severe and just. but God is also love and He made a way for some to be saved from His wrath. here are the steps:
      1. admit that you're a sinner and are lost.
      2. realize that the penalty of sin is death (hell).
      3. believe that Jesus (who is God) died on the cross, was buried, then rose from the grave, to pay the penalty for man's past, present, and future sins.
      4. trust Christ alone as your Savior, and not on your own good deeds to get you to heaven (nor a combination of your faith and self-righteous works).
      5. pray to God NOW that you're accepting Christ's free gift of salvation because if you die before making this decision, it's too late, and you'll 🔥🥵😈
      6. and to be a disciple, tell people about Jesus, read the bible, go to church regularly to know God's will for your life.

      Best movies? It would be if it didn't show you things that didn't really happen then later think it's clever showing what actually happened. Also if it didn't show scenes that Adam isn't in... How can he recall situations he wasn't a part of? He's making it up which makes his whole story unreliable! On the surface it's a great movie... But when you start thinking about it it's lazy and uses cheap movie tropes to make you think it's better than it really is

    I tagged along with my sister to the theater. They wanted to see the Tobey Maguire upside-down kiss, I wanted to see the movie Bill Paxton made. I think I got the better deal.

    A truly amazing film and one I have loved to watch over and over.
    If you're looking for hidden gems of films that never got the recognition they deserved:
    Fail Safe (1964)
    Other People's Money (1991)
    Fallen (1998)

    Paxton was in several best movies you never saw. Pass the Ammo is hilarious. Near Dark is stylish horror. And of course, Frailty is like no other. From the moment I first saw Paxton behind the bar in Streets of Fire, I knew he was someone to watch for. When I next saw him, the Terminator was taking his clothes. He made every role much bigger simply by occupying the space with his inimitable charm. Here's to you, Hudson.

    I LOVED this movie when it first came out!! It scared the hell out of me (in a spiritual sense)! It hit a LOT deeper than just your regular "slasher flick" or your average horror movie filled with monsters, ghost, and/or gore... For those who actually believe in the spiritual realm, it strikes a nerve that most common "horror films" just don't touch! It would be GREAT to get to see a sequel with McConaughey raising up the next generation of "demon slayer"! It'd need to be JUST AS well done, of course. Otherwise there'd be no point,, but (in the right circumstances) I'd love to see "Adam Meek's" child grow up to take up the mantle of "demon slayer"!!👍

    I did see this in the theaters and I also have the DVD of it. It's a great movie! And even though I've seen it, I'm glad this video was made about it so other people who haven't seen or heard about it can know about it and possibly decide to watch it. So I'm cool with that.
