Iceman has been confirmed as one of the most powerful mutants on earth, and could freeze the planet if he really tried to. He just never pushes himself or tests his limits.
Cypher would make for an amazing live action series. A character that can speak any language, communicate with machines/internet, and be a great fighter as martial arts is a language, would lend itself to great adventures.
There are loads of secondary mutations. Longshot can read the “memories” of objects. Mirage has animal telepathy. Dazzler can absorb sound. For example.
Dazzlers ability to absorb sound is part of her core mutation. The secondary component was that she can also release that sound in a single burst. I think she's only done it the once at the end of her solo series way back when.....
You said we can debate it in the comments so here I am. I don't think a progression of your core power counts as a secondary mutation. In some cases the mutant simply realizes that they can use their existing powers in more ways. In my opinion a secondary mutation would be something separate from their primary mutation. However, it is your list, so go with your heart Amanda. And make an Excalibur video please.❤❤❤
Exactly! A secondary mutation would be Emma Frost's diamond form, which has zero to do with her telepathy. In fact, she can't use her telepathy while in that form. Another example is Beast's transformation in the big 'ol furry blue big foot we know and love today. It has no bearing on his core powers; he just happened to activate it while trying to experiment on himself. 😂
Solid list Amazing 🤩 Amanda, but IMO pretty much every mutant/ comic character in general has undergone power boost/ upgrades since about 2015 with modern writers making almost everyone way too powerful…wether you want to call it God tier / Omega Level…My rant for the year ( maybe) Staying Nerdy, Keep Up The Great Work 🖖🏾
Iceman the goat he’s basically immortal, can shift his consciousness to any clone he chooses, can freeze the earth (suspected), froze HELL, etc. he’s my fav mutant be far
3:32 To my only knowledge is at least in the original ultimate universe(1610) she had a secondary ability that allowed her to not just lose her density and phase but also increase her density and volume/mass interchangeably which allowed her to grow up to roughly the same size as antman/giant-man and super strength/density enough to fight off beings equivalent to ultimate hulk
could he be conisder a half mutant half mutate since he was born with powers then gained more from a serum an not though enviromental means like ema frost
How i remember the Beast's story from 1972, he was investigating something at the Brand Corporation, and he realized even in his X-men costume, he would be recognized because of his big hands and feet. So, he took his serum to temporarily change his look , and become grey furred. He missed the deadline to take the antidote to the serum, so he became grey furred forever. I don't remember if there was a storyline where he became blue, or if it was just easier to print a blue character instead of grey. I do remember in the X-treme X-men comic , Sage triggered his change to a more animalistic appearance. They called it a secondary mutation.
You know, technically speaking Nightcrawler (could) has a secondary mutation - his primary is his physical appearance and abilities (wallclimbing, nighinvisibility while on shadows, enhanced senses, contortionist-like flexibility, etc.) while his secondary is his teleportation.
Funny thing is, I'd always thought Bobby was ALWAYS turning to ice. When I learned in the mid-'00s that it was just icy/snowy ARMOR? Yeah, didn't sit right with me.
I don't know if it is the way you explained it, but I wouldn't say Bobby (the ice man) had a second mutation more like he got a better understanding of his only mutation
Beast wasn't just a guy, the stronger and more dexterous he got the more it impaired his mental abilities. Kitty only had to hold her breath if she phased through anything that covered her face. She can in general phase without that hindrance.
Pretty much all the example you listed were just natural progression of their abilities. There are several mutants that develop secondary mutations that you could have use, like Shatterstar being able to open portals or Warpath's ability to fly for example. I'd say a secondary mutation would be developing an ability that's totally unrelated to one's primary mutation
There are some conditions for a mutant's mutation to be named a secondary mutation. These are : • The mutation must manifest after the manifestation of the primary mutation or mutations, at a gradual rate. Hence, a mutation cannot be counted as secondary if it's onset is immediate or instantaneous. • The mutation cannot be a variant one of the primary mutations. Thus, power boosts to pre-existing mutations do not count. • A mutation can be secondary if it's onset was brought on by an external factor.
I think they should give Kitty Pryde a second mutation that puts her in a simular state as Beast. MAKE HER A CAT PERSON. Give her a strength and agility boost. But its time.
I disagree with the whole power boost and evolution of the first ability set as secondary mutations. When Emma Frost got her diamond form, it was made clear that a secondary mutation was distinct from the initial power. So Kitty Pride, Iceman and Husk didn't have secondary mutations per say, more a progression of their powers. Beast is more in the gray, since the original change to his apperance was not consider a secondary mutation, but the second change (cat like features) was. But, Marvel is not known for continuity in their comics, so secondary mutations comes and go, depending on the writer.
I wouldn't agree that beasts mutation is a second i always seen it more as pure or advanced that he had the animal like moves and power so his nxt step is just being a beats a pure representation of his strength agility dexterity and size
Wasn't M the one to be a telepath with a secondary mutation of diamond skin? Now that I think of it, she has a trio of mutations with telepathy, super-strength & diamond skin

When a mutant gets stronger, is it automatically considered a secondary mutation? For example Iceman. Can't it be they just became stronger (aka leveling up, or like how a weight lifter gets stronger after some time). Genuine question 😊
Wow! This channel definitely lost credibility with me. Madame Masque and Masque are 2 different Marvel characters. Not going to be checking out that “Part 2” when the facts aren’t straight.

You are using a lot of pictures of Madam Masque. Not Masque - they are 2 different characters. It may be confusing to some because Masque is male.
Thank you! I was confused as hell! Why are they showing an Iron Man "frienemy" talking about Masque from the Morlocks? Glad I'm not the only one.

Great list Amanda. I remember when Beast briefly reverted back to his original human form when X-Factor first formed with the original 5 X-Men.

Dropped the ball with this one. That is Madam Masque
Polaris has an interesting secondary mutation - the ability to absorb negative emotions and increase her strength and durability to superhuman levels.

Beast blue fur is not a secondary mutation it's an enhancement of his original mutation, his Omega Level intellect is his secondary mutation
