I cried when they revealed this in the direct. As someone who played this game to completion with my siblings, I thought it died with the Wii, so seeing it get revamped was a dream come true.

Same here, but instead using challenges I gave myself while fighting Morpho in Star Allies, such as only hitting bosses with uncharged moves like Cutter or Ninja throwing knives. Crazy how giving us little content opens up such a wide window for creativity
Return to Dreamland was the very first Kirby game I ever played, and the fact that they not only remastered it and brought back every copy ability in it, but kept the original soundtrack and added new abilities makes so insanely happy. This might just end up being my favorite Kirby game of all time ❤
They also added tons of bonus content the original lacked. The epilogue they added for Magalor just gives me Star Allies' "Heroes in Another Dimension" vibes, and by that I mean serving a similar role as a sort of sequel to the main "story" within it's own game

That move was one of the ones it lost, so it wasnt in Triple Deluxe, Robobot, or Star Allies. But now that we´re in the remake, it got the move back. Not only that, but every ability also got their new 3DS moves as well, meaning most abilities in this game have a larger moveset than they did in Star Allies or any previous Kirby game Edit: Watched further in the vid, this is also the case for Beam Revolution. It was in Wii and gone on 3DS
Wait the flame dash was in the 3ds games tho, but you are right about some abilities losing moves in the 3ds games, like how spike lost the “totally not the spin dash from sonic” move, some abilities just got cut entirely, water isn’t in the 3ds games, spear isn’t in robobot, i don’t think wing is in robobot either, since it would be kind of redundant with jet returning. But I know for a fact that the fire dash is in the 3ds games and star allies
Not only is this probably one of the best Kirby games in the entire series but it's also one of the first Kirby games that I remember playing when I was around 11 years old......btw the reason I said that it's one of the first because around that same time I also remember playing Kirby's Epic Yarn too so I can't really be sure if RTDL was my very first Kirby game but it still holds a special place in my heart regardless. 🤩💖
Got to 2:05 before reflexively blinking hehe Sad that they removed fire spin, needle roll, and the BEAM REVOLUTION in future games. At least needle got the super useful down attack. Looks like the Star Allies power creep is continuing here with Sand being able to do puzzles meant for Whip, Hammer, and High Jump. I wonder how busted mecha will be?
I was also looking for the fish and yelled "give me the fish" at the tv😂😂 I love this game. And it's heartwarming to see how much love HAL packed into the Deluxe version

That waddle dee at the end was actually a Waddle Doo, as you can tell by the dark red skin. They can't use their BEEAM ATTACK anymore because they're wearing the other guy's dead wife's skin over their eye.
Love how this remake adds Magolor everywhere like he's your best friend, it's gonna make the betrayal hit so much harder for kids playing for the first time

I spent so much time trying to find the Fish Sword and never got it to show up, and then you got it and I was like “so it IS still in the game after all!!!”

Leaf is the best ability in the game. It's how I beat the dragons and Magalor back then, because the "block" where Kirby turns into a leaf pile made him invincible and you could dodge all the hard hitting attacks.
