Hard to say because James and Louise are still teenagers and their cousins married with kids.

The palpable stress on Sophie's face. Even Rob Nixon (William's aide behind Sophie and Edward) was feeling it. And did you see Zara lose her shoe while they were climbing that stone staircase - and James was like, of course Zara lost her shoe!
Both Lady Louise and Visconte Severn seem like very decent, likeable and caring young people. He showed a lot of strength and courage to stand the vigil with his cousins. You could see the pain on his mom's face as he stepped up to carry this burden. I look forward to see how he grows and what he does.

Have you seen pictures of his dad when he was in his 20's? Edward was absolutely gorgeous, and he is still very handsome and so is Sophie.
James is a good looking lad, Likewise his dad, Edward is good looking too. Out of the three sons of the Queen, Edward is the best looking and the only one who has retained his looks. James’s sister, Louise is refreshingly lovely. She has blossomed into a beautiful young adult, (although technically she is still a teenager, for two more years 18+19) . Sophie is beautiful. The gentlest of Sophie and Edward comes out in their children. Whilst Louise hasn’t taken on the use of HRH Princess yet, she has the option to do so at any stage from now. I’d like to see her and James do whatever they want to do in their adult life as well as pitch in and do some working Royal duties as I think they’d be a respectful help for William and Catherine when they’re King and Queen and they’d be a support to George, Charlotte and Louis. I’d like to also see Zara and Peter do some duties here and there, and then eventually Savannah, Isla, Lena, Mia too

The current Earl of Wessex is not very comfortable in the public gaze but he seems a nice young lad.

Edward and Sophie had some scandals early on in their marriage and so think the queen gave them an ultimatum to get in line or say goodbye to being working royals and they chose correctly imo, they were dutiful and loyal to the Queen, doing international engagements and even trying to maintain relationships with the continental royals. I think they will be an invaluable support to Charles and likely William too.

Not really. They had major scandals years ago basically what was it? Selling access to the monarchy? Fake Sheikh? I forget because I think Sarah, Duchess of York did something very similar. That being said, once married, Charles and Camilla really havent had ANY scandals...have they. So who is the least problematic? Who has set up an entire village, dedicated his life to more than JUST charity. The Prince's Trust, Poundbury, historic preservation and restoration, organic farming and gardening, AND the obligitory charity engagements. Charles and Camilla are amazing.
Oh, I don't know about that. I'm Edwards age and an American. I remember back in the '80's when we were young men how an employee at one of the big hotels in New York City (I think it was the Waldorf Astoria) where Edward was staying told of how Edward had asked him where he might hire a male 'companion' for the night. This of course led to the belief at the time that he was gay or bi.
I love Edward and Sophie’s Children. I thin Louse was Prince Philips favourite and she was brilliant with the coach and horses.

They aren't the future of the monarchy, they are too far removed from it. William and George are the future of the monarchy.
The future of the Monarchy is more than about the direct line of succession. It takes supporting family members. Just as Edward and Sophie support King Charles, so will Lady Louise and James support William and in his turn George.
@@catherinewilliams8966 right now Charles is Monarch. He has a brother and sister that serve the Crown. He has 2 of his mother’s cousins that serve. A sister in law, who is at the center of the working family. He has one son and a daughter in law. That’s it. When Harry and Meghan left and Prince Phillip and Queen died, the monarchy shrunk. When the 3 working royals who are over age of 75, need to retire, there will be nobody. A king William will have 3 kids, not ready to serve. There will be a need for these younger royals to work for the crown. His sister is likely. Replace her mother. He could replace his dad. There will need to be 30 something’s working for the Crown when it’s time, and they will be.
It’s crazy how Edward and Sophie willingly choose not to give their kids titles but yet MM complained about not having titles for their children……..

OH MY GOD HERE WE GO! No you ignorant person. First of all, Harry has agency. Everything is Meghan's fault? Furthermore, their kids don't even their father Harry's second most senior title. His son Archie should be a Baron or an Earl. It is a completely different thing. Hell, even if they wanted their kids to maintain HRH(as is their right) that doesn't make them any different from any other royal couple in history other than Edward's and Sophie. HRH is theirs by right of birth, so what is unusual is for it to be taken away. I am so sick of this bias Meghan hate. You want to talk about what other royals have done? Meghan has done nothing remotely close to it. Also, they kids still are HRH, they will decide when they are 18 to use it or not and Edward and Sophie know this.

I remember reading back in the 1970s about how hard on Edward his father, Phillip, was on him because Edward liked to act in school plays and other social gatherings which Phillip apparently thought was not very masculine. I suspect that is why Edward has turned out to be the humblest of the children and a good parent who knows that children need support, not criticism. I hope James lives a "normal" life by getting a good education, a good job, having a family and staying away from the mess that Charles/Camilla/William/Harry have created.

He will be fifteen in december 2022, and the eldest of the great-grandchildren, Savannah, will be twelve.

Technically he does have the title of Prince, and will get to choose whether to use it when he turns 18. Until then, his parents have chosen to use the courtesy title of Viscount Severn instead.

Viscount Seven's Dad should make more documentaries. Prince Edward is an excellent host, narrator. Great speaking voice and acsent (not pompous sounding) Obviously researched subjects closely. Also very knowledgeable in his own right. Seen only 1 or 2 documentaries. Prince Edward made it an enjoyable viewing experience.
Viscount Severn is of course now the Earl of Wessex , his father is the now Duke of Edinburgh ( the late Prince Phillip's title). I think personally the title Viscount is much more interesting than Prince, has a devilish mysterious tone to it.

These kids are the lucky royals tbh. Less burdened by the royal family duties and still experiencing the luxury of being part of it but have a chance to be normal and free unlike their more known relatives. Being one of the main characters of the royal family doesn't seem ideal anymore.
I knew about James when they had that balcony family photo with the whole group maybe 7 or 8 years ago at 0:45. I was like wait, who is that kid? Oh, one of the grandchildren.

You’ve missed some crucial details at the platinum jubilee. The queen was residing in Windsor castle. This is where the Paddington skit was filmed. When Charles requested she make the balcony appearance at the end of the jubilee, the queen was, in fact, brought in a wheelchair, but so as not to be seen in a wheelchair, she was helicoptered to Buckingham Palace, and wheeled up to the balcony, where she made great effort to walk outdoors.

He is now Earl of Wessex, now that his father was named Duke of Edinburgh by His Majesty, Charles the 3rd, after the passing of their parents.
There are quite a few errors in this video! In the British monarchy, the child of a prince does not automatically become a prince or princess. It's only the case of if they're a grandchild of a monarch. (A monarch can change this, QEII has to issue Letters patent to make sure William's children were prince/cess otherwise George would have got one of William's lesser titles, Charlotte would have been Lady Charlotte and Louis, Lord Louis)
James' mother Sophie herself has said that her children have the HRH Prince/cess title from birth (as a grandchild of the monarch from the male line) but their parents wanted them to use the titles of a child of an Earl. Louise at age 18 made the decision not to use hers, she could have decided to use it.
Sophie is not Sophie, Countess of Wessex, that's the title of the divorced wife of an Earl of Wessex, she's The Countess of Wessex. Same James is not James, Viscount Severn, he's Viscount Severn. Edward doesn't get to inherit the Duke of Edinburgh title, once his father died Prince Charles as his oldest son inherited it. When Charles became king, the Duke of Edinburgh title reverted to the crown (no-one has it) A new creation of the Duke of Edinburgh title needs to be made if Edward were to be created Duke of Edinburgh.
The Earl of Wessex titled was created for Edward cause he heard it in Shakespear in Love lol! Edward was such a Royal Geek! The only one I know who is actually a royal Remember his silly Royal Games?
By law, the style and title of "HRH Prince(ss)" are restricted to the children and paternal grandchildren of a sovereign. The law will eventually need to be changed to reflect the change in the rules of succession. TRH James and Louise do qualify as royals, but their parents have chosen to pretend that they are simply the children of nobles. This fiction becomes harder to maintain as the children age, and will probably be dropped at some point.
