Nvidia stock drops as chips industry moves into correction phase

- Shares of Super Micro Computer (SMCI) fell sharply Friday after the company opted not to pre-announce its first-quarter results. This development comes as the semiconductor sector undergoes a sector-wide correction. Bernstein Managing Director and Senior Analyst Stacy Rasgon joins Market Domination to provide insights into this situation.
Rasgon acknowledges that while the chip sector is undergoing a correction, "outside of AI" the industry has not been performing well. He notes that other segments of the sector, such as automotive, data centers, PCs, and smartphones, "are not all that great," which could be contributing to the sector-wide pressure, in addition to the disappointing earnings from major players.
Rasgon shifts the focus to the question of "the pace of the recovery," noting that the stocks have held up "remarkably" despite the revisions, suggesting this is "a delayed reaction."

A crash and bullish market provides equal high-yield potential, it's all about information and strategy application, I've seen folks make huge 7figure profit in a crashing market and pull it off much easily in a bull market Unequivocally the crash/recession is getting somebody somewhere rich.
On occasion you can beat the market with blind luck, but I wouldn't depend on it. Having a science background there is a saying, 'Luck favors the informed', I've found it to be true, allowed me in great part to retire early
No doubt, having the right plan is invaluable, my portfolio is well-matched for every season of the market and recently hit 100% rise from early last year. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take till Q3 2024.
Impressive! How can I contact this advisor? My portfolio has underperformed, and I need guidance.
ANGELA LYNN SCHILLING' is her name. She is regarded as a genius in her area and works for Empower Financial Services. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
Thank you for this tip. It was easy to find your coach. Did my due diligence on her before scheduling a phone call with her. She seems proficient considering her resume.
Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
the strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.
Even with the right strategies and appropriate assets, investment returns can differ among investors. Recognizing the vital role of experience in investment success is crucial. Personally, I understood this significance and sought guidance from a market analyst, significantly growing my account to nearly a million. Strategically withdrawing profits just before the market correction, I'm now seizing buying opportunities once again.
impressive gains! how can I get your advisor please, if you dont mind me asking? I could really use a help as of now
Angela Lynn Shilling is the licensed coach I use. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
Thank you for this Pointer. It was easy to find your handler, She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her.
They are only warming up. I dont think the demand for Nvidia chips will never be met. Every few months, demand doubles. Already have about $98k invested in NVDIA stocks, looking for new buys to diversify across various markets. Want to build a well-rounded portfolio that balances risk aversion with returns meeting yearly inflation concerns.
Then You should be looking to hire and work with a good market strategist for entry and exit points, instead of the speculations YT.
Agreed! A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their emotions, no offense. I remember some years back, during the covid-outbreak, I needed a good boost to stay afloat, hence researched for advisors and thankfully came across one with grit. My cash reserve has increased from $450,000 to around $1.1 million as of today.
@georgeh Who is your advsor please? if you don't mind me asking

I agree that many people are considering NVDA as the "Stock of the year." However, I'm curious about which stocks could potentially become the next META in terms of growth over the next decade. I've allocated $200k for investment, looking for companies to make additions to boost performance
I think the next big thing will be A.I. For enduring growth akin to META, it's vital to avoid impulsive decisions driven by short-term fluctuations. Prioritize patience and a long-term perspective consider financial advisory for informed buying and selling decisions.
Agreed! this is why I work with one. My $520k portfolio is well-matched for every market season yielding 85% rise from early last year to date. I and my advsor are working on more figures for this year. IMO, financial advisors are the most sought-after professionals after doctors.

Well I’d say the market takes a look like to 2015-16. Probably going back to all time highs, but will probably go sideways until fed signals rate cut, Recently sold 37% of my portfolio comprising of plummeting stocks that were recommended by certain financial RUclipsrs, quite devastating.
If we being sincere it no ones fault, the stock market seems to be more of a casino for gamblers now than a place for investors. even if you were averaging down on ailing companies, its your duty to properly research, buying the dip does not guarantee a rebound investors need to get this.
I do believe differently individuals have unique means of operation, I recently surpassed a million in proceeds, I found having a CFA most rewarding.
If you don’t mind ma’am, pls say more info on your adviser. I’d really appreciate it
On a market broad and complicated as that of stocks and foreign exchange the need for an expert to guide one cannot be over emphasized
Very well, a little due diligence on Lina Dineikiene, truly exceptional
I started selling my NVDA shares that I bought for $45 back in 2019 and i am sitting on roughly about $300k. Am i better off putting the money somewhere else or sit out and wait for the correction to be over?
Well all i know is that you cannot go wrong taking profit at near high. No one ever went broke taking a ~10% profit. It's best if you consult with a fiduciary advisor to get informed buying & selling decisions
Agreed, After taking charge of my portfolio in early 2017, i stumbled into losses. Upon realizing that a change was necessary, I consulted a fiduciary advisor in 2020 and since then my $1.2m portfolio has gained 28% annually through restructuring and diversification using dividend equities, ETFs, mutual funds, and REITs.
Please can you leave the info of your lnvestment advsor here? I’m in dire need for one

Dont buy. Heading for a major correction.
I agree that many people are considering NVDA as the "Stock of the year." However, I'm curious about which stocks could potentially become the next META in terms of growth over the next decade. I've allocated $200k for investment, aiming to retire comfortably.
I agree that there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such executions are usually carried out by investment experts or advisors with experience
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k

Market highs can sometimes be followed by corrections, but predicting the timing and extent of it is challenging. I've heard some analysts talk about a 'massive' correction. It makes me wonder if it's time to adjust my $2M portfolios or maybe even consider some defensive investments.
Look for stocks that have paid steady, increasing dividends for years (or decades), and have not cut their dividends even during recessions. Alternatively speaking to a certified market strategist can help with pointers on equities to acquire
I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having investing nightmare prior touching base with a advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $2m with the help of my advisor from an initial $350k investment.

You have to correct to go higher. That’s just the way stocks go. It will hit 1000 eventually, especially if earnings are spectacular again.
This is not a correction. This is the type of paranoid stupidity selling that happens when people don’t do their homework on company financials. As for ASML, there was a lag time in orders, not low demand. TSMC delivered great results and AI chip demand will more than offset smartphone demand. Automotive is not rolling over. EV’s are and standard vehicles require as many chips as EV’s these days. SMCI was the most laughable as they are in Nvidia and AMD’s pocket. Their growth is outstanding. These companies are now hopelessly over sold. To all those who panicked and sold out, you deserve your losses.
This is 100% a correction. If you had had done your homework you be selling 4-5 weeks ago when NVDA had a railroad track- a topping signal having broken out from a 504 line of least resistance 11 weeks earlier.
I am sorry brother. You still have a chance before you lose a lot.
I bought at 950. In a lot of pain right now seeing how low it dropped.
$879 for me
Hold.
Ouch. I can't imagine buying in that high. I bout in at like 730ish back in what, Feb or so. I sold after the first dip at 974. I made my first ever stock trade with Nvidia when it was at 468 or so. Made $4 lol. I've learned A LOT over the past 5 months. I got in late. To NVDA, S&P, everything. I'm completely out of the market now but we'll see how this year goes and what the charts look like.
Yes, it's disappointing today but one day does not make a market.
You definitely need to hold. It may be a while before it gets to 950 again, but it will.
I like Stacy’s spaceships !
And I think buying the dip in Nvidia makes sense now.
We are going to continue to need semiconductors, stop reacting in the emotion of the moment. I try to ignore hype and the panic.
Good strategy
Dump everything and buy Lockheed Martin.
Where do you guys Will buy arm? 70 or less? For long term. Thanks
Is the technical analysis on SMCI still very bullish?

The economy is expected to slow. In fact, it has to in order for us to get 2% inflation. I think NVidia will gap back up in the short term. But it will collapse when they miss earnings. Just like other tech stocks will.
Is it? Or is it part of the Iran Israel market freakout
I think that’s why the whole entire market is quite bearish today. Also cuz of panic selling and stuff
In January? After a 2x 2023 Goldman came out with a $800 target and I thought “no shot”. I exited my large concentrated position early March a millionaire and now it’s 10% of my long term - no touch portfolio. NVDA is backed by reality and earnings and is the best company in human history in my opinion. Maybe Goldman was right? Maybe $800 is the right price? I dont know. I’m owning not trading.
