Hey I have a 2020 crf 450r with the launch control can it be used for more then just starts can you manipulate it a bit i did it for single track and seems like it helps tell you hit the gas to hard and it turns off also can you be moving turn it on and launch 🚀?

I also heard the Vortek was way better then launch control. Is that the case? And why after spending $10,399 i have to go spend another $700 for an ECU and $700 for a new exhaust. I am referring to the 450L

Just bought a 2022 crf 450 on offerup. The people I bought it from told me it’s never been ridden, and I believe them. When I showed up at their house they had 2 garages filled with brand new bikes and nice mountain bikes. I bought it for 9800$ and the day before I tried my local dealership and they wanted 12000$ for them. If you financed they wanted 11000 something. It amazed me they wanted more for cash compared to financing. Haven’t even taken it out yet I need to break it in tmrw. Coming from an 06 crf250 I feel it’s gonna be a huge change.

No. You would have to activate it once you started the bike again.

Bike has to be running to set. basically you set it the moment you get ready to take off on the start gate.

If your bike has an ECU map switch on the left side of your handlebars, you have launch control. Your 2018 should have it.

The standard (setting 1) or soft (setting 2) should be best for single track. It's always worth playing around with it to see what you like the most.

bike warmed up, idling! can't change mapping off idle (fast idle) thought I had a problem, til I shut off the fast idle.

How do I shut off the high idle? I’ll start it, it’ll be normal. Then after riding I’ll come to a stop and it’ll be idling high.

They were up on the screen in text. 1 is the high RPM (best for good dirt) 2 is medium RPM (for more slippery starts) and 3 is the lower RPM (best for slippery starts).
