Robert Keeley - V3 needs to let the delay stand on its own to make this a truly worthwhile pedal. I've bought and sold this several times because its good...just not good enough.
I've been back and forth about adding this pedal to my Gilmour inspired board. Maybe it's time to take another look at it. Thanks for the great demonstration.

Its definitely a good sounding pedal, i use mine a lot. But the complete inability to use any of the effects together means its pretty far from the all in one that it regularly gets presented as. For live performance especially, buying a couple individual pedals would be by far the better choice

I agree, it a budget pedal where you can dial in, dosent take room, and get the job done, for a live musician it’s not practical, unless you choose one sound and leave it at such , great demo

Giampaolo, what type of delay and what settings are you adding in the mix?

when I didn't use the Dark Side delay I added a Digital Delay (MXR or Ibanez) ... 380 or 440 ms depending on the song
Where would this ideally go in a pedalboard ? Usually modulation / and delays go at the end however with the fuzz component, I’m not sure. Usually fuzz pedals go near the beginning of a board.
The pedal has a switch to select the order of the internal effects... I recommend keeping it on fuzz > mod
When you the dark side together with other effects, the position depends on what other effects do you use.
If you use other modulations and/or delays with the dark side... then the dark side goes first.

Riguardo il setup del dark side per il solo di dogs potresti provare a lasciare come mods il flanger impostato tipo mistress come ho fatto nella parte strumming di dogs... magari aggiungendo il fuzz con lo switch in full o scoped, per simulare il muff.
Ovviamente poi andrebbe aggiunto un delay con altro effetto.

Assume amp set at clean w/ no built-in effects turned on?
Yes amp is HIWATT super clean sound
When do you put the fuzz in front of modulation and when do you put mod in front of fuzz?
I always use fuzz in front of modulation.
And (almost) always I have the whole effects chain in front of the amp (without effects loop)

Ciao Giampaolo, ma secondo te sostituisce efficacemente la catena dei singoli pedali? Si perde qualcosa in termini di qualità? Vorrei prendere un eho ltd ma nn sonk convinto.. Invece con 1 solo pedale riuscirei ad avere tutto.. Che ne pensi?
Ciao... dipende molto l'uso che ne devi fare... cioè quali suoni vuoi ottenere e con quanti effetti.
Ad esempio se vuoi usare il delay/echo insieme con il fuzz con il Dark Side puoi farlo, ma rinunci alle modulazioni... così come se vuoi usare modulazioni e fuzz, rinunci al delay.
La sezione delay/modulazioni è la stessa, quindi o usi delay o modulazioni.
Sicuramente il Dark Side ha ottimi suoni, ma se lo usi da solo, senza altri effetti, hai alcuni limiti nelle possibilità della catena effetti.
EchoLTD è ovviamente tutt'altro... si tratta di un effetto echo che richiama gli echo anni 60 (Echorec) con una cura del suono molto più elevata rispetto ad un effetto all-in-one.
@@GiampaoloNoto infatti intendevo o prendere tutti i pedali della catena di gilmour od eventuali sostituti come l echorec (dato che il binson costa troppo per me) o solo il dark side.. Da na parte spendere più o meno 300 euro e dall altra oltrepassarli.. Quindi mi confermi che cmq non può essere qualitativamente migliore della catena completa?
Si confermo... il DARK SIDE è un ottimo pedale... ma va considerato come pedale all-in-one.

Yes ... Hiwatt does a lot for this sound
And the thing is you need to be changing settings between songs. One would need to be able to save settings in order to use it live one song after the other.
Yes this works as a single stompbox rather than as a multi-effect with programmable patches.
