Being the Texas QB is not for the faint of heart. Quinns our guy

Josh u are right on as usual. I can’t say how tired I am of people trying to say Arch should start! Would they say it or even care if his name wasn’t Manning? We are blessed to have Arch waiting in line, but for now…. Quinn is the man! Great show. Hookem!

Trey Owen’s was crushing it too at spring practice but it will be Quinns job for sure. Hook ‘Em 🤘🤘

Shoutout to Texas for playing football, I saw a TE get flipped 😂

Bro EWERS is about to win the freaking Heisman nobody is thinking Arch should start, Arch looks amazing but it’s his rock next year bro
LOTS of people (foolishly) think that Arch should start. But, yeah, it’s Quinn’s team until someone takes it away.
That said, Arch likely COULD start somewhere else, but I’m glad he’s staying at UT.

@@MarkEWallace UT doesn't deserve Arch. He has 4 year starter talent.
All three Texas Quarterbacks still have room for improvement. Trey Owens has much more room for improvement than Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, and Manning more than Ewers. Nonetheless, it would not surprise me if they all continue to improve and all of them are eventual first round draft picks in the NFL.

People out here thinking arch should start over Quinn. Ridiculous
Why?

Quinn is our guy period. Longtime Longhorn fans remember the tough years post-Mack and the Charlie strong and Herman era. I was at the BCS game when they lost to Bama and every year since then has been tough. Sark finally turned the program and culture around. Quinn is our guy and I’m happy to have him in place of people like Casey Thompson or Garret Gilbert
Does anyone realize how many defensive backs didnt play or played very sparingly
Yes, but that doesn't change how sharp they were.
Archie needed the reps. Quinn doesn't. Quinn's spot is safe.
Thanks for another Josh! That's the problem with schools these days... Texas didn't "lose" Maalik Murphy. He's still loved by longhorns and he will be a longhorn forever. We reluctantly and respectfully parted ways with Maalik. If we "lost" him it was to the beast of machine that is the Transfer Portal.
100% agree
Quinn all day. Manning will take over next year! Trey Owens is a stud
Quinn is about to surprise people this year and pop off

I was at the game, a lot of excitement for our boys. Coach Sark could go down as a Mack brown, or DKR he seems lazer focused
It really must perturb people that Texas have two 3⭐ quarter backs that are better than their starting quarterback.
The RB and WR rooms are elite, too.
🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
Two 5-stars plus a 4 star in the QB room.
You ain't just Joshin' Josh! Thank you for clearing the Delusional Air on that 'Arch-Overachieving Arch'! He DID look great though! And shots of Quinn's odd forlorn expressions that are hard to read - fuel for controversy?
Keep Michael Jordan on the bench.
Arch isn’t in this for immediate gratification, or he would’ve left already. Manning’s picked Sark to help Arch develop beyond college. When his time comes he’s going to be right where he should be, and be great. 3 deep QB room.
Arch made a mistake.
I agree with all you said but the biggest argument to quite the audience is that we are not there everyday at practice, in the meeting rooms and such to make those decisions. No arm chair coach has never won a game.
And no professional coach has ever made a mistake with his roster.
Texas QB room is by far, the best in the country.
Oregon's QB room is better
@@jstrig bawawahahaha. Not even close.
@@jstrig Do they have 2 five-stars and a 4-star? Texas has the 2 highest rated QBs of the last 3 recruiting classes, Ewers and Manning. Owens is no slouch either.
@@drm2364 Oregon has Dillon Gabriel, who is better than Quinn Ewers. As a backup QB, Oregon has Dante Moore, who was the #2 QB behind Arch Manning. The third string QB is Austin Novosad, who was a high 4 star out of Texas. I'm confident they're all capable of taking Oregon to a National Championship.

I totally agree, Texas has 3 QBs that could start. I COULD SEE OWENS GOING TO PORTAL way before manning or Quinn. OWENS COUKD START ON ANY TEAM NEXT YEAR

The receivers are amazing also. The receivers don't drop the ball like the previous teams.
Well in years past the qb room in Austin wasnt competitive at all
And?
@@MarkEWallace you saw how well those teams did
What does that have to do with this season? Texas is flat-out loaded this year at the QB position. They have the best in the nation, 3 deep.
@@drm2364 I left that comment for those who looked at Texas recruiting ranking in years past and said we should be better
Shining in the spring game does not equal true game time experience. Defense is not going 100% and especially not at the QB. You can't really translate that fully to meaningful games and Ewers has that experience. It would be nuts to overlook that. I think Sark knows what he is doing folks. The fact that Arch looks so much better than last year is a testament to that.
Understand that Sark is selling our guys on development and succession.. every qb is on their own development schedule, and each will have their time to play. Murphy was the only one that didnt fit the timeline bc he and quinn came in the same year. Its one QB per class. Quinn is the beginning of the QB wheel. Hes our guy, arch has next.
I think there are plenty of schools that could've developed Arch better...by actually letting him play.
🤘🏻
It would be insane to bench Quinn Ewers. He has exceptional talent and experience - why would you replace him? Because of a Spring game? Because of a name? So if Ewers gets benched and Manning throws some INTs - what then? Texas is definitely a program on the rise.
Why not let them both play meaningful minutes? Over time it will be apparent who leads the team the best.
Quinn did the right thing by coming back and getting more reps. He’ll be better prepared for the NFL. Arch and Owen are not going anywhere. NIL 💵 will keep them there. The rich get richer.😂🤘Hook’em baby!
Arch won't receive a dime of NIL until he is the actual starter; his family made this very clear last year
I think it's funny to say, "If Arch was the best player, he would be starting." 😂 Really?? Have you ever played organized sports? There are countless cases of better players sitting on the bench behind the less capable. Politics, loyalties and many other factors at play, not just who is the most capable.
You haven't
@@Mark-zx2bq Yes I played varsity basketball.😂🤣😂🤣😂 And I ended up getting screwed over. Sitting on the bench behind a pg that couldn't dribble with his left hand. That stuff happens all the time.

We want Arch! I wish he would've went to a school where he would've started as a freshman. Almost any school other than Texas.
Just think if Arch would've went to Bama? He would've been the starter and may have won them the natty last season! Even Ole Miss or Tennessee would've given him a better path than Texas.
If a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his butt every time he jumped. Texas has Manning and wishful thinking is squat.
@@mikeellis2025 Never heard that one before,😂🤣 I'll have to remember it.
Funny comment cause Texas made it to a cfp before Ole miss and Tenn but please go on about how he would have a better shot at a natty?
@@daltonpalmer3897 well Texas has a better shot at a natty then Tennessee or Ole Miss this coming year.
@@mikeellis2025 I’m well aware of this. I’m a Texas fan
Such nonsense. Texas QB room is not loaded. Quinn Ewers is an average QB except when he’s under pressure then he’s below average. Arch Manning is a below average QB with a very weak arm. Manning has some decent athleticism but once defenses start game planning for him, he’s an INT machine.
lol alright.
Quinn will have some lows and sark will crumble under the pressure of the decision and won’t stick with his guy. Play Arch and then season is sabotaged
Phil Simms has a handshake deal with Sark that Arch can’t start over Ewers and that’s all she wrote.
UT stans saying they are back is dumb, gotta at least have a 10+ win season more then once every 15 years. OU is QBU any QB that starts has more pressure on them then a UT QB lol stop.
Quinn's the starter,... but he had better not get hurt... might not get his job back
It’s amazing how many dumb people on the outside make all kinds of assertions about situations they know nothing about. They all said Arch was only a 5 star because of his last name. Last year spring game, everyone wanted Maalik Murphy. At the end of 2023, Arch was going to transfer. Now, in the spring game, Arch plays well and now there is a controversy? People are bored. Not one of these people attended every practice. The coaches know what’s best. Quinn is the starting QB. End of story.
Free Arch!
I think this is a horrible take when we haven’t even see. Anyone other than ewers play an actual game. Give you an example of a better one? Their former starting QB is OU’s backup with a top 150 guy behind him. He has thrown for over 50 td’s and almost 6,000 yards. He’s started at 2 historic programs and has won slot of big games while playing for mediocre coaching. Give me a proven guy like that if your starting QB goes down in a big game over some kid, regardless of talent and name, without a single snap In college. He won’t start because they have ewers back regardless of whether he’s better than Ewers. Fans will be screaming his name first time Ewers struggles, which we know he will. Manning is making $2 million a year. How many other schools can afford that. Pate even said “ my god you’re the QB of Texas”. Well that’s Casey Thompson. Take pages own words about how good you have to be to be the starting QB at Texas. Well. Ash Thompson was. So just using Pates own comments it would be much easier to make an argument that a Casey Thompson is a much better Arab as a backup than a Manning.
Do I think OU has a stacked QB room? I do but the same applies at OU as well. Jackson Arnold doesn’t have any experience to base any kind of opinion on one way or another so I’m not making g that argument either. I will make the argument that Casey Thompson may be the best “backup “ in the country and that’s based on facts and not wishful thinking. Casey Thompson in the same amount of years as a starting Quan has more yards and more TD’s than Ewers. What’s everyone’s opinion in the UT world of Casey Thompson who played with offenses nowhere close to the talent that Ewers has played with.
Again saying A QB room is loaded before any of the backups of taken a meaningful snap or a snap at all, in college,is exactly why other fan bases talk about manning getting g props because of his name and talent. This is another perfect example of that and why that happens. Pate could argue with me all day and no way could I be convinced on making a demonstrative statement as some QB room is loaded before you have even seen the back ups play.
On top of that? Ewers has been solid at best and has shown no ability to carry a team. There were I don’t know how many QB’s that had the same or better stats. Ewers had the best skill group in the country on top of that. He legitimately had 2 first round Wr’s. Who else had that talent last year at that position? No one.
How many QB’s that never amounted to anything has had a great spring game. How many great QB’s have played awful spring games? Go look at Kyler Murray’s spring game the year he started. So again making a statement like this based on both a spring game and obviously name as well is just short sighted at best and ignorant at worst.
Sure I’m an OU fan but that’s a much more objective and logical conclusion than a talking head like Pate coming up with this take.
Manning hasn't made a dime at Texas. You have no clue what you're talking about
Everyone needs to stop all the BS about Arch Manning either needs to be the starting QB or he should transfer...QUINN EWERS IS THE STARTING QB FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS LONGHORNS!!!!...Texas will win the national championship this season with Ewers at the helm...Manning will lead the HORNS the following season!!!...Back to back National Champion!!!!!.....Hook them horns baby!!!!!

Outside of 2005 2009 2013 2015 2022 and yes 2023 when Texas lost in Dallas again... Let see what happens on 2nd Saturday in October and see if this guy will still wind up the Texas is back gag...

The 2024 edition of the Texas Longhorn Football Team is Quinn Ewer's team. Full stop. Furthermore, Arch Manning is here for the long game. He's not looking for the quick burn to get to the NFL. He's soaking everything up he can from Coach Sarkesian, which is why he came to the University of Texas in the first place. He wants to develop into the best/elite version of himself in the QB role. Additionally, he has a solid family backing of his plan as I'm sure they played an integral part in the development of that vision/plan for him in the first place.
