Now that was brilliant! My favorite Queen song, and one that they themselves never played live in its entirety, done as close to perfect as humanly possible. Bravo for song choice and performance!!
That was the most amazing version I ever heard. The singer is not tryng to sing like Fred, he is singing delightfull with his own voice.Amazing voice. Great version, I really enjoy his voice as his own voice . Congratulations.
I've messaged before. This is so unique, I love early queen more, it's rare to here these done amazingly and extremely professionally with the feel of theatre. Freddie wud be loving this im sure, to here his early stuff. Much love.
What can i say? This was disgustingly brilliant. A joyful treat for eyes and ears. This was my favorite queen song when I was really into Queen as a teenager during the 90’s, and I listened to a lot. I know every cymbal crash, every bass line and every vocal harmony, so I think I am well qualified to opine that this was better than the original studio version. I always found the production on the studio version a bit ugly messy, like a thick porridge. Although i could appreciate the unique charm and mood of the ugliness and messiness, I could never play the song to a non-Queen fan and expect them to like it. It’s a difficult and tiring song do listen to and appreciate. This version is crystal clear, despite having so many people performing the song. Everyone sounded great. This version could easily be appreciated by a non-Queen fan at first listen. If you want to introduce this song to a friend, this version is the way to go. This is probably very close to how “Black Queen” would had sounded like if Queen had recorded it a few years later into their careers, when then had good producers and more studios experience. Aside from the performance and production, I also admire the courage and dedication to take on a massive challenge like this. I can imagine that this song can easily become a disaster when played live by less skilled hands. You have done to “Black Queen” what the Icelandic band Todmobile did to Yes’ “Awaken” - taken a great song with muddy production and made it sound great. Well done.
What "ugliness and messiness"? You do realize that sound equipment has evolved right? Personally, I like the sound of the old gear. Bravo to these musicians! Very tasteful!
A man who goes by C_Matt did a HQ Revision to this song, along with numerous others. The sound is much clearer and fuller and not as muddy as the album version. Here is the link to the song if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/gBHan16kq1w/видео.html
The thing that I absolutely love in this cover they don't try to look like Queen and the singer doesn't try to sing like Fred like Marc Martel or other shit like that and they just do what they to and do it good and as they're able to (I mean lower key here).
Holy hell! Where has this been all my life? Unbelievably great! Thanks for bringing Queen’s powerful harmonies to live performance. It makes all the difference
Great great cover guys! Really hard to cover, such an amazing job, all of you! But just imagine back in '73 what incredible sessions recording this song
Bravo. Great cover. Favorite Queen song. I was 18 when it was released. This is really nice. Only Queen themselves did it better in my opinion. So you all nailed this.
